Aamal of 17th of Ramadan

إِذْ تَسْتَغِيثُونَ رَبَّكُمْ فَاسْتَجَابَ لَكُمْ

Iz tastagheesoona Rabbakum fastajaaba lakum

When you asked for help from your Lord, He answered you

أَنِّي مُمِدُّكُم بِأَلْفٍ مِّنَ الْمَلَائِكَةِ مُرْدِفِينَ

annee mumiddukum bi alfim minal malaaa'ikati murdifeen

Indeed I will aid you with a thousand of the angels in rows behind rows"

اللّهُمّ اهْدِنِي فِيهِ لِصَالِحِ الأَعْمَالِ،

allahumma ahdiny fihi lisalihi ala`mali

O Allah; on this day, (please) guide me to the virtuous deeds;

وَاقْضِ لِي فِيهِ الحَوَائِجَ وَالآمَالَ،

waqdi li fihi alhawa’ija wal-amala

And settle on this day all my needs and hopes;

يَا مَنْ لا يَحْتَاجُ إِلَى التّفْسِيرِ وَالسّؤَالِ،

ya man la yahtaju ila alttfsiri wal-ssu´ali

O He Who does not require explanation or wonderment;

يَا عَالِماً بِمَا فِي صُدُورِ العَالَمِينَ،

ya `aliman bima fi suduri al`alamina

O He Who knows what is hidden in the chest of the peoples.

صَلّ عَلَى مُحَمّدٍ وَآلِهِ الطَّاهِرِينَ.

salli `ala muhammadin wa alihi alttahirina

(please) send blessings upon Muhammad and his Household—the immaculate.

اَللَّهُمَّ هذَا شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ الَّذِي أَنْزَلْتَ فِيهِ الْقُرْآنَ

O my God! This is the month of Ramadhan in which you have revealed the Quran

وَأَمَرْتَ فِيهِ بِعِمَارَةِ الْمَسَاجِدِ وَالدُّعَاءِ وَالصِّيَامِ وَالْقِيَامِ وَضَمِنْتَ لَنَا فِيهِ الاِسْتِجَابَةَ

and ordered us to build mosques during it and pray, observe fasting and do acts of worship. You have guaranteed its fulfilment for us.

فَقَدِ اجْتَهَدْنَا وَأَنْتَ أَعَنْتَنَا فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا فِيهِ

We strove and You helped us. So please forgive us during it

وَلاَ تَجْعَلْهُ آخِرَ الْعَهْدِ مِنَّا وَاعْفُ عَنَّا فَإِنَّكَ رَبُّنَا وَارْحَمْنَا فَإِنَّكَ سَيِّدُنَا

and do not make this the last month of Ramadhan in our lifetime Pardon us as You are our Lord. Please have mercy upon us as You are our Master

وَاجْعَلْنَا مِمَّنْ يَنْقَلِبُ إِلى مَغْفِرَتِكَ وَرِضْوَانِكَ

Please let us be amongst those who return to Your Forgiveness and Your Pleasure,

بِحَقِّ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الأَجَلُّ الأَعْظَمُ

For the sake of Muhammad and his Household, for verily You are the Great, the Grand.

يَا صَاحِبَ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ يَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ

O Companion of Muhammad and his Progeny on the Day of the Battle of Hunain!

وَ يَا مُبِيرَ الْجَبَّارِينَ وَ يَا عَاصِمَ النَّبِيِّينَ

O Destroyer of the oppressors! O Guardian of the Prophets!

أَسْأَلُكَ بِ يس وَ الْقُرْآنِ الْحَكِيمِ‌ وَ بِ طه‌ وَ سَائِرِ الْقُرْآنِ الْعَظِيمِ

I ask You by Ya Sin. By the Quran, full of Wisdom. And by Ta-Ha, and the rest of the grand Quran

أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

I ask You to bestow Your Blessings on Muhammad and his Progeny

وَ أَنْ تَهَبَ لِيَ اللَّيْلَةَ تَأْيِيداً تَشُدُّ بِهِ عَضُدِي وَ تَسُدُّ بِهِ خَلَّتِي

and bestow on me such strength on this night with which I may strengthen my hands and fulfill my needs

يَا كَرِيمُ أَنَا الْمُقِرُّ بِالذُّنُوبِ فَافْعَلْ بِي مَا تَشَاءُ لَنْ يُصِيبَنِي إِلَّا مَا كَتَبْتَ لِي

O the All-Generous! I am confessing to my sins. Treat me as You please since I will get no more than what You have destined for me

عَلَيْكَ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَ أَنْتَ حَسْبِي وَ أَنْتَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْكَرِيمِ

In You I have placed my trust, and You are sufficient for me. And You are Lord of the Throne, the Benevolent!

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ خبر [خَيْرَ] الْمَعِيشَةِ أَبَداً مَا أَبْقَيْتَنِي بُلْغَةً إِلَى انْقِضَاءِ أَجَلِي

O my God! I ask You for the best sustenance for as long as I live up until my death

أَتَقَوَّى بِهَا عَلَى جَمِيعِ حَوَائِجِي وَ أَتَوَصَّلُ بِهَا إِلَيْكَ

by which to attend all my needs, and come to You by using it

مِنْ غَيْرِ أَنْ تَفْتِنَنِي بِإِكْثَارٍ فَأَطْغَى أَوْ بِتَقْتِيرٍ عَلَيَّ فَأَشْقَى

not so much as to make me rebellious, and not so little as to put me in hardship

وَ لَا تَشْغَلْنِي عَنْ شُكْرِ نِعْمَتِكَ

I ask You to not to take away the opportunity to thank You for Your Blessings from me

وَ أَعْطِنِي غِنًى عَنْ شِرَارِ خَلْقِكَ

Please grant me immunity from the evils of Your creatures

وَ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ الدُّنْيَا وَ شَرِّ مَا فِيهَا

I take refuge in You from the evils of the world and whatever is in it!

اللَّهُمَّ لَا تَجْعَلِ الدُّنْيَا لِي سِجْناً وَ لَا تَجْعَلْ فِرَاقَهَا لِي حُزْناً

O my God! Please do not make this world a prison for me, and do not make departure from it as a source of grief for me

أَخْرِجْنِي عَنْ فِتْنَتِهَا إِذَا كَانَتِ الْوَفَاةُ خَيْراً لِي مِنْ حَيَاتِي

Take me out of its sedition when it is the best time for my departure

مَقْبُولًا عَمَلِي إِلَى دَارِ الْحَيَوَانِ وَ مَسَاكِنِ الْأَخْيَارِ

with my deeds in this world accepted, into the House of Living and the Home of the Good people

وَ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ أَزْلِهَا وَ زِلْزَالِهَا وَ سَطَوَاتِ سُلْطَانِهَا وَ بَغْيِ بُغَاتِهَا

I take refuge in You from its hardships, earthquakes, rule, and oppression of the oppressors!

اللَّهُمَّ مَنْ أَرَادَنِي بِخَيْرٍ فَأَرِدْهُ وَ مَنْ كَادَنِي فَكِدْهُ وَ اكْفِنِي هَمَّ مَنْ أَدْخَلَ عَلَيَّ هَمَّهُ

O my God! Please wish bad for whoever wishes me bad, and plot against whoever plots against me

وَ صَدِّقْ قَوْلِي بِفِعْلِي وَ أَصْلِحْ لِي حَالِي

Please certify my words with my deeds, improve my conditions

وَ بَارِكْ لِي فِي أَهْلِي وَ مَالِي وَ وُلْدِي وَ إِخْوَانِي

and bless my wife, wealth, children and brethren for me

اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي مَا مَضَى مِنْ ذُنُوبِي

O my God! Please forgive my past sins

وَ اعْصِمْنِي فِيمَا بَقِيَ مِنْ عُمُرِي حَتَّى أَلْقَاكَ وَ أَنْتَ عَنِّي رَاضٍ

and protect me during the rest of my lifetime until I meet You with You pleased with me.

سَجَدَ وَجْهِيَ الْبَالِي الْفَانِي الْمَوْقُوفُ الْمُحَاسَبُ الْمُذْنِبُ الْخَاطِئُ

I prostrate my ephemeral, vanishing, sinful and wrong-doer face that shall be held for Reckoning

لِوَجْهِكَ الْكَرِيمِ الْبَاقِي الدَّائِمِ الْقَائِمِ الْغَفُورِ الرَّحِيمِ

for Your Noble Everlasting, Eternal, Oft-Forgiving, Merciful Face

سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الْأَعْلَى وَ بِحَمْدِهِ

Glory be to my Lord – the High! Praise be to Him

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ وَ أَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ

I ask God for forgiveness and repent to Him

اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ هَذِهِ اللَّيْلَةِ الْعَظِيمَةِ

O my God! O Lord of this grand night!

لَكَ الْحَمْدُ كَمَا عَصَمْتَنِي مِنْ مَهَاوِي الْهَلَكَةِ وَ التَّمَسُّكِ بِحِبَالِ الظَّلَمَةِ

Praise belongs to You as You protected me from the cliffs of destruction and grabbing onto ropes of darkness

وَ الْجُحُودِ لِطَاعَتِكَ وَ الرَّدِّ عَلَيْكَ أَمْرَكَ

And denying Your Obedience, turning down Your Decrees

وَ التَّوَجُّهِ إِلَى غَيْرِكَ وَ الزُّهْدِ فِيمَا عِنْدَكَ وَ الرَّغْبَةِ فِيمَا عِنْدَ غَيْرِكَ مَنّاً

and turning to others than You, abstaining from what is near You, an inclination to what others than You possess

مَنَنْتَ بِهِ عَلَيَّ وَ رَحْمَةً رَحِمْتَنِي بِهَا مِنْ غَيْرِ عَمَلٍ سَالِفٍ مِنِّي

Your favor to me, and Your Mercy upon me was not due to what I have done in the past

وَ لَا اسْتِحْقَاقٍ لِمَا صَنَعْتَ بِي وَ اسْتَوْجَبْتَ مِنِّي

or that I deserved

الْحَمْدَ عَلَى الدَّلَالَةِ عَلَى الْحَمْدِ

. Praise be to God who showed me the reason to praise

وَ اتِّبَاعِ أَهْلِ الْفَضْلِ وَ الْمَعْرِفَةِ وَ التَّبَصُّرِ بِأَبْوَابِ الْهُدَى

and follow the noble and knowledgeable ones, and gave me insight towards the gates of guidance

وَ لَوْلَاكَ مَا اهْتَدَيْتُ إِلَى طَاعَتِكَ وَ لَا عَرَفْتُ أَمْرَكَ وَ لَا سَلَكْتُ سَبِيلَكَ

Were it not for Your guiding me towards Your Obedience, I would have neither become acquainted with Your Decrees or walked on Your Path

فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ كَثِيراً وَ لَكَ الْمَنُّ فَاضِلًا

Plenty of praise belongs to You. To You belong Noble Favors

وَ بِنِعْمَتِكَ تَتِمُّ الصَّالِحَاتُ

and good deeds are perfected with Your Blessings!

اللَّهُمَّ قِنِي عَذَابَكَ يَوْمَ تَبْعَثُ عِبَادَكَ

O Allah, protect me from Your punishment on the day You resurrect Your servants,

وَ أَعِذْنِي مِنْ عِقَابِكَ وَ سُوءِ حِسَابِكَ

and shield me from Your chastisement and the evils of Your accounting.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ حُسْنَ الْمَآبِ وَ حُسْنَ الثَّوَابِ

O Allah, I ask You for a good return, a good reward,

وَ الْأَمْنَ يَوْمَ الْعِقَابِ

and safety on the day of retribution,

وَ التَّسَامُحَ يَوْمَ الْحِسَابِ

and forgiveness on the day of account.

يَا مَنْ‌ خَلَقَ السَّماواتِ وَ الْأَرْضَ

O You who created the heavens and the earth,

وَ جَعَلَ الظُّلُماتِ وَ النُّورَ

and made darkness and light,

يَا مَنْ يَعْلَمُ السِّرَّ وَ الْجَهْرَ

O You who knows the secret and the public,

وَ يَعْلَمُ مَا يَكْسِبُونَ [تَكْسِبُونَ‌]

and knows what they earn.

يَا مَنْ يَسْكُنُ لَهُ مَا فِي اللَّيْلِ وَ النَّهارِ

O You to whom belongs everything in the night and the day,

وَ هُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ‌

and You are the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.

يَا مَنْ يَقْضِي بِالْحَقِ‌ وَ هُوَ خَيْرُ الْفاصِلِينَ

O You who decides with truth and is the best of judges,

‌ يَا مَنْ‌ عِنْدَهُ مَفاتِحُ الْغَيْبِ لا يَعْلَمُها إِلَّا هُوَ

O You with whom are the keys of the unseen that no one knows but You,

وَ يَعْلَمُ ما فِي الْبَرِّ وَ الْبَحْرِ

and You know what is on the land and in the sea.

وَ يَا مَنْ‌ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ‌

O You to whom belongs the dominion,

وَ هُوَ أَسْرَعُ الْحاسِبِينَ‌

and You are the swiftest of reckoners.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِمَا مَدَحْتَ بِهِ نَفْسَكَ

O Allah, I ask You by what You have praised Yourself

وَ سَأَلْتُكَ بِهِ أَنْ لَا تَدَعَ لِي ذَنْباً إِلَّا غَفَرْتَهُ

and beseech You by it, not to leave any sin of mine but forgiven,

وَ لَا عَيْباً إِلَّا سَتَرْتَهُ وَ لَا غَمّاً إِلَّا فَرَّجْتَهُ

any flaw but covered, any distress but relieved,

وَ لَا هَمّاً إِلَّا كَشَفْتَهُ وَ لَا أَمْراً إِلَّا أَصْلَحْتَهُ

any worry but dispelled, any issue but rectified,

وَ لَا حُزْناً إِلَّا أَذْهَبْتَهُ وَ لَا سُقْماً إِلَّا شَفَيْتَهُ

any sadness but removed, any illness but healed,

وَ لَا حَاجَةً إِلَّا قَضَيْتَهَا وَ لَا أَمَانَةً إِلَّا أَدَّيْتَهَا

any need but satisfied, any trust but fulfilled,

وَ لَا فَاقَةً إِلَّا سَدَدْتَهَا وَ لَا عَوْرَةً إِلَّا سَتَرْتَهَا

any poverty but provided for, any nakedness but clothed,

وَ لَا ضَيْعَةً إِلَّا حَفِظْتَهَا وَ لَا كُرْبَةً إِلَّا فَرَّجْتَهَا

any loss but preserved, any difficulty but eased,

وَ لَا عَثْرَةً إِلَّا أَقَلْتَهَا

any slip but supported.

وَ اجْعَلْنِي مِنْ عُتَقَائِكَ فِي هَذَا الْيَوْمِ وَ فِي هَذَا الشَّهْرِ مِنَ النَّارِ

And make me among those freed from the Fire on this day and in this month

بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ

by Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful.

وَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ الطَّاهِرِينَ.

And may Allah send blessings upon our master Muhammad and his pure family.

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعالَمِينَ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ

Al-ḥamdu lillāhi Rabbil-ʿālamīn, ar-Raḥmānir-Raḥīm.

All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

الَّذِي‌ لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهِ شَيْ‌ءٌ وَ هُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْبَصِيرُ

Alladhī laysa kamithlihi shay'un wa huwa asSamīʿu alBaṣīr.

The One who has no likeness, and He is the AllHearing, the AllSeeing.

وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ عَلَى نِعَمِهِ الْفَاضِلَةِ السَّابِغَةِ

Wa alḥamdu lillāhi ʿalā niʿamihi alfāḍilati assābigha.

And all praise is due to Allah for His abundant and perfect blessings.

عَلَى جَمِيعِ خَلْقِهِ الْبَرِّ مِنْهُمْ وَ الْفَاجِرِ

ʿAlā jamīʿi khalqihi albarr minhum wa alfājir.

Upon all His creation, the righteous among them and the wicked.

وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ عَلَى حُجَّةِ اللَّهِ الْبَالِغَةِ

Wa alḥamdu lillāhi ʿalā ḥujjatillāhi albāligha.

And all praise is due to Allah for His decisive proof.

عَلَى جَمِيعِ خَلْقِهِ مِمَّنْ أَطَاعَهُ وَ مِمَّنْ عَصَاهُ

ʿAlā jamīʿi khalqihi mimman aṭāʿahu wa mimman ʿaṣāh.

Upon all His creation, those who obey Him and those who disobey Him.

فَإِنْ رَحِمَ فَبِمَنِّهِ وَ إِنْ عَاقَبَ فَبِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ‌

Fain raḥima fabimannihi wa in ʿāqaba fabimā qaddamat aydīhim.

So if He has mercy, it is by His grace, and if He punishes, it is because of what their hands have earned.

وَ مَا اللَّهُ‌ بِظَلَّامٍ لِلْعَبِيدِ

Wa mā Allāhu biẓallāmin lilʿabīd.

And Allah is not unjust to His servants.

وَ لَا حَوْلَ وَ لَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظِيمِ

Wa lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billāhi alʿAliyyi alʿAẓīm.

And there is no power nor strength except through Allah, the Most High, the Most Great.

حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ وَ نِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ‌

Ḥasbunā Allāhu wa niʿma alwakīl.

Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best disposer of affairs.

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الْعَظِيمِ شَأْنُهُ الْوَاضِحِ بُرْهَانُهُ

Alḥamdu lillāhi alʿaẓīmi shaʾnuhu alwāḍiḥi burhānuhu.

All praise is due to Allah, whose status is great and whose proof is clear.

أَحْمَدُهُ عَلَى حُسْنِ الْبَلَاءِ وَ تَظَاهُرِ النَّعْمَاءِ

Aḥmaduhu ʿalā ḥusni albalāʾi wa taẓāhuri anniʿmāʾ.

I praise Him for the goodness in trials and the abundance of blessings.

وَ أَسْتَعِينُهُ عَلَى مَا أَتَانَا مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَ الْآخِرَةِ

Wa astaʿīnuhu ʿalā mā atānā mina addunyā wa alākhira.

And I seek His help for what He has given us in this world and the Hereafter.

وَ أَتَوَكَّلُ عَلَيْهِ‌ وَ كَفَى‌ بِاللَّهِ وَكِيلًا

Wa atawakkalu ʿalayhi wa kafā billāhi wakīlā.

And I place my trust in Him, and sufficient is Allah as a Disposer of affairs.

وَ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ‌ لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ‌ وَحْدَهُ‌ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ‌

Wa ashhadu an lā ilāha illā Allāhu waḥdahu lā sharīka lah.

And I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, alone, without any partner.

لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَ لَهُ الْحَمْدُ يُحْيِي‌ وَ يُمِيتُ‌

Lahu almulku wa lahu alḥamdu yuḥyī wa yumīt.

To Him belongs the dominion, and to Him is all praise; He gives life and causes death.

وَ هُوَ حَيٌّ لَا يَمُوتُ بِيَدِهِ الْخَيْرُ

Wa huwa ḥayy lā yamūtu biyadihi alkhayr.

And He is the EverLiving who does not die; in His hand is all goodness.

وَ هُوَ عَلى‌ كُلِّ شَيْ‌ءٍ قَدِيرٌ

Wa huwa ʿalā kulli shayʾin qadīr.

And He has power over all things.

إِلَهاً وَاحِداً أَحَداً صَمَداً

Ilāhan wāḥidan aḥadan ṣamadan.

The One God, the Absolute, the SelfSufficient.

لَمْ يَتَّخِذْ صاحِبَةً وَ لَا وَلَداً

Lam yattaḥidh ṣāḥibatan wa lā waladā.

He has not taken a companion nor a child.

وَ لَمْ يُشْرِكْ‌ فِي حُكْمِهِ أَحَداً

Wa lam yushrik fī ḥukmihi aḥadā.

And He does not share His rule with anyone.

رَبِّ كُلِّ شَيْ‌ءٍ وَ رَبِّنَا وَ رَبِّ آبَائِنَا الْأَوَّلِينَ

Rabbi kulli shayʾin wa rabbanā wa rabbi ābāʾinā alawwalīn.

The Lord of everything, our Lord, and the Lord of our forefathers.

وَ أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّداً عَبْدُهُ وَ رَسُولُهُ

Wa ashhadu anna Muḥammadan ʿabduhu wa rasūluh.

And I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and His messenger.

صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ وَ سَلَّمَ

Ṣallā Allāhu ʿalayhi wa ālihi wa sallam.

May Allah send His blessings and peace upon him and his family.

أَرْسَلَهُ‌ بِالْهُدى‌ وَ دِينِ الْحَقِّ

Arsalahu bilhudā wa dīn alḥaqq.

He sent him with guidance and the religion of truth.

لِيُظْهِرَهُ عَلَى الدِّينِ كُلِّهِ وَ لَوْ كَرِهَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ‌

Liyuẓhirahu ʿalā addīni kullihi wa law kariha almushrikūn.

To make it prevail over all religions, even if the polytheists dislike it.

ارْتَضَاهُ لِنَفْسِهِ وَ انْتَجَبَهُ لِدِينِهِ

Irtadāhu linafsihi wa intajabahu lidīnih.

He chose him for Himself and selected him for His religion.

وَ اصْطَفَاهُ عَلَى جَمِيعِ خَلْقِهِ

Wa iṣṭafāhu ʿalā jamīʿi khalqih.

And He preferred him over all of His creation.

لِيُبَلِّغَ الرِّسَالَةَ بِالْحُجَّةِ عَلَى عِبَادِهِ

Liyuballigha arrisālah bilḥujjah ʿalā ʿibādih.

So that he may convey the message with proof to His servants.

وَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ عَلَى الْأَخْيَارِ مِنْ أَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ

Wa ṣallā Allāhu ʿalayhi wa ʿalā alakhyāri min ahli baytih.

May Allah send blessings upon him and upon the righteous from his household.

وَ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْهِ وَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَ رَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَ بَرَكَاتُهُ

Wa assalāmu ʿalayhi wa ʿalayhim wa raḥmatu Allāhi wa barakātuh.

And peace be upon him and them, and Allah’s mercy and blessings.

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā Muḥammadin wa āli Muḥammad.

O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad.

عَبْدِكَ وَ رَسُولِكَ النَّبِيِّ الْأُمِّيِّ

ʿAbdika wa rasūlika annabiyyi alummī.

Your servant and messenger, the unlettered prophet.

نَجِيبِكَ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ إِمَامِ الْخَيْرِ وَ قَائِدِ الْخَيْرِ

Najībika min khalqika imāmi alkhayri wa qāʾidi alkhayr.

Your chosen one from Your creation, the leader of goodness and its guide.

الْبَشِيرِ النَّذِيرِ الدَّاعِي إِلَيْكَ بِإِذْنِكَ السِّرَاجِ الْمُنِيرِ

Albashīri annadhīri addāʿi ilayka biidhnik assirāji almunīr.

The bringer of glad tidings, the warner, the caller to You by Your permission, and the shining lamp.

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā Muḥammadin wa āli Muḥammad.

O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad.

كَأَفْضَلِ مَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَى أَحَدٍ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ

Kaafḍali mā ṣallayta ʿalā aḥadin min khalqik.

As the best of what You have bestowed upon any of Your creation.

مِنْ أَنْبِيَائِكَ وَ رُسُلِكَ وَ أَصْفِيَائِكَ

Min anbiyāʾika wa rusulika wa aṣfiyāʾik.

From among Your prophets, messengers, and chosen ones.

وَ أَهْلِ الْكَرَامَةِ عَلَيْكَ وَ عَلَى أَهْلِ بَيْتِكَ الطَّيِّبِينَ

Wa ahli alkarāmati ʿalayka wa ʿalā ahli baytika aṭṭayyibīn.

And upon those honored by You and upon Your pure household.

الْأَخْيَارِ الصَّادِقِينَ الْأَبْرَارِ

Alakhyāri aṣṣādiqīna alabrār.

The righteous, the truthful, and the virtuous.

الَّذِينَ أَذْهَبَ اللَّهُ الرِّجْسَ عَنْهُمْ وَ طَهَّرَهُمْ تَطْهِيراً

Alladhīna adhhaba Allāhu arrijsa ʿanhum wa ṭahharahum taṭhīrā.

Those whom Allah has removed impurity from and purified with a thorough purification.

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مَلَائِكَتِكَ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ وَ أَنْبِيَائِكَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ

Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā malāʾikatika almuqarrabīn wa anbiyāʾika almursalīn.

O Allah, send blessings upon Your close angels and Your sent prophets.

وَ عِبَادِكَ الصَّالِحِينَ وَ اغْفِرْ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَ الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ

Wa ʿibādika aṣṣāliḥīn wa ighfir lilmuʾminīna wa almuʾmināt.

And upon Your righteous servants. Forgive the believing men and women.

وَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَ الْمُسْلِمَاتِ الْأَحْيَاءِ مِنْهُمْ وَ الْأَمْوَاتِ‌

Wa almuslimīna wa almuslimāt alaḥyāʾi minhum wa alamwāt.

And the Muslim men and women, both the living and the dead.

إِنَّكَ عَلى‌ كُلِّ شَيْ‌ءٍ قَدِيرٌ

Innaka ʿalā kulli shayʾin qadīr.

Indeed, You have power over all things.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ يَا عَظِيمُ الَّذِي يَمُنُّ بِالْعَظِيمِ

Allāhumma innī asʾaluka yā ʿaẓīmu alladhī yamunnu bilʿaẓīm.

O Allah, I ask You, O Great One, who bestows great blessings.

وَ يَدْفَعُ كُلَّ مَحْذُورٍ وَ يُضَاعِفُ مِنَ الْحَسَنَاتِ الْقَلِيلَ بِالْكَثِيرِ

Wa yadfaʿu kulla maḥdhūr wa yuḍāʿifu mina alḥasanāti alqalīl bilkathīr.

Who wards off every harm and multiplies small good deeds abundantly.

وَ يُعْطِي كُلَّ جَزِيلٍ وَ يَفْعَلُ ما يَشاءُ وَ يَحْكُمُ ما يُرِيدُ

Wa yuʿṭī kulla jazīl wa yafʿalu mā yashāʾu wa yaḥkumu mā yurīd.

Who grants immense rewards, does what He wills, and decrees as He pleases.

اللَّهُمَّ أَلْبِسْنِي سِتْرَكَ وَ نَضِّرْ وَجْهِي بِنُورِكَ

Allāhumma albisnī sitraka wa naḍḍir wajhī binūrik.

O Allah, clothe me in Your protection and brighten my face with Your light.

وَ أَلْقِ عَلَيَّ مَحَبَّتَكَ وَ بَلِّغْنِي رِضْوَانَكَ

Wa alqi ʿalayya maḥabbataka wa ballighnī riḍwānak.

And cast Your love upon me and grant me Your pleasure.

وَ شَرَفَ كَرَامَتِكَ وَ جَسِيمَ عَطَائِكَ

Wa sharafa karāmatika wa jasīma ʿaṭāʾik.

And the honor of Your generosity and the abundance of Your gifts.

وَ اقْسِمْ لِي مِنْ خَيْرٍ أَنْتَ مُعْطِيهِ أَحَداً مِنْ خَلْقِكَ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَ الْآخِرَةِ

Wa aqsim lī min khayrin anta muʿṭīhi aḥadan min khalqika fī addunyā wa alākhirah.

And decree for me from the best of what You bestow upon anyone in this world and the Hereafter.

وَ أَلْبِسْنِي مَعَ ذَلِكَ عَافِيَتَكَ يَا مَوْضِعَ كُلِّ شَكْوَى

Wa albisnī maʿa dhālika ʿāfiyataka yā mawḍiʿa kulli shakwā.

And along with that, clothe me in Your wellbeing, O He who is the refuge for every complaint.

وَ يَا شَاهِدَ كُلِّ نَجْوَى وَ يَا عَالِمَ كُلِّ خَفِيَّةٍ

Wa yā shāhida kulli najwā wa yā ʿālima kulli khafiyyah.

O Witness of every secret, O Knower of every hidden thing.

وَ يَا دَافِعَ كُلِّ بَلِيَّةٍ يَا كَرِيمَ الْعَفْوِ يَا حَسَنَ التَّجَاوُزِ

Wa yā dāfiʿa kulli baliyyah, yā karīma alʿafw, yā ḥasana attajāwuz.

O Repeller of every calamity, O Generous in forgiveness, O Beautiful in overlooking faults.

تَوَفَّنِي عَلَى مِلَّةِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَ فِطْرَتِهِ وَ عَلَى دِينِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ سُنَّتِهِ

Tawaffanī ʿalā millati Ibrāhīm wa fiṭratih, wa ʿalā dīni Muḥammad wa sunnatih.

Grant me death upon the religion of Ibrahim and his pure nature, and upon the religion and way of Muhammad.

اللَّهُمَّ وَفِّقْنِي لِكُلِّ عَمَلٍ صَالِحٍ تَرْضَاهُ عَنِّي وَ يُقَرِّبُنِي إِلَيْكَ زُلْفَى

Allāhumma waffiqnī likulli ʿamalin ṣāliḥin tarḍāhu ʿannī wa yuqarribunī ilayka zulfa.

O Allah, grant me success in every righteous deed that You accept from me and that brings me closer to You.

اللَّهُمَّ وَ كَمَا كَفَيْتَ مُحَمَّداً صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ هَوْلَ عَدُوِّهِ وَ فَرَّجْتَ هَمَّهُ

Allāhumma wa kamā kafayta Muḥammadan ṣallā Allāhu ʿalayhi wa ālih hawla ʿaduwwih wa farrajta hammah.

O Allah, just as You protected Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) from the terror of his enemies and relieved his distress.

اللَّهُمَّ فَاكْفِنِي كُلَّ هَوْلٍ وَ آفَةٍ وَ سُقْمٍ وَ فِتْنَةٍ وَ شَرٍّ وَ حُزْنٍ

Allāhumma fakfinī kulla hawl wa āfah wa suqmin wa fitnah wa sharr wa ḥuzn.

O Allah, protect me from every terror, affliction, sickness, trial, evil, and sorrow.

وَ بَلِّغْنِي بِرَحْمَتِكَ كَمَالَ الْعَافِيَةِ وَ بِدَوَامِ النِّعْمَةِ إِلَى مُنْتَهَى أَجَلِي

Wa ballighnī biraḥmatika kamāla alʿāfiyah wa bidawāmi anniʿmah ilā muntahā ajalī.

And by Your mercy, grant me complete wellbeing and continuous blessings until my final moment.

وَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ النَّبِيِّ وَ آلِهِ وَ سَلَّمَ.

Wa ṣallā Allāhu ʿalā Muḥammadi annabiyyi wa ālih wa sallam.

And may Allah send blessings upon Muhammad the Prophet and his family and grant them peace.

سُبْحَانَ الْعَزِيْزِ بِقُدْرَتِهِ، الْمَالِك بِغَلَبَتِهِ

Glory be to God who is Exalted in Might due to His Power. Glory be to God who is Exalted in Might due to His Power.

الَّذِي لَا يَخْرُجُ شَئٌ عَنْ قَبْضَتِهِ، وَلَا أَمْرٌ إِلَّا بِيَدِهِ

He is the One from whose control nothing can escape. Nothing is decreed except by His Hand!

الَّذِي يَجُودُ مُبْتَدِئاً وَمَسْؤُولاً وَيَنْعَمُ مَعِيدًا، هُوَ الْحَمِيدُ الْمَجِيْد

He bestows without being asked, and with being asked. He continues His blessings. He is the Praised, the Noble

نَحْمَدَهُ بِتَوْفِيقِهِ، فَنِعَمُهُ بِذَلِكَ جُدُدٌ لَا تُحْصَى، وَنُمَجِّدَهُ بِآلَائِهِ وَبدَلَالَاتِهِ فَأَيَادِيهِ لَا تُكَافَى

We praise Him when He gives us success! His blessings are new and uncountable. We glorify Him for His Bounties and for His Proofs that cannot be compensated for

وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّه الَّذِي يَمْلِكُ الْمَالِكِينَ، وَيُعِزُّ الْأَعْزَاء، وَيُذِّلُ الْأَذَلِّين

And praise be to God, Who rules the rulers, gives power to the powerful and debases the debased

اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنَّ هَذِهِ اللَّيْلَة لَيْلَةَ سَّبْعَ عَشْرَةٍ ، عَشْرَ وَهِي أَوَّلُ عُقُودَ الْأَعْدَاد، وَسَّبْعَ وَهِيَ شَرِيفَةَ الْآحَاد، لَاحِقَةٌ بِنَعْتِ سَّابِقِه

O my God! This is seventeenth night, ten is the first of the digits in the decades and seven is the most honoured of the single digits that is connected to it.

وَيْلٌ لِمَنْ أَمْضَاهُنَّ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ لَكَ يَا مَوْلَاه قَضَاك، وَلَا بِقُرْبٍ إِلَيْكَ أَرْضَاكَ

O Master! Woe be upon me who lets this night pass without respecting Your Right and tries to please You in ways other than approaching You

وَأَنَا أَحَدٌ أَهْلُ الْوَيْل، صَدَّتَّنِي عَنْكَ بَطْنَةُ الْمَآكِلْ وَالْمَشَارِب

I am one such person since I have been held back from You by overeating and overdrinking

وَغَرَّنِي بِكَ أَمْرُ الْمُسَارِب وَسَعَةُ الْمَذَاهِب، وَاجْتَذَبَتَنِي إِلَى لَذَّاتِهَا سُنَّتِي، وَرَكِبْتُ الْوَطِيئَةَ اللَّذِيذَة مِن غَفْلَتِي.

I was fooled by the various roads and the extensive means. My drowsiness led me to the worldly pleasures and I rode on the waves of such pleasures out of my ignorance.

فَاطْرُد عَنِّي الْاِغْتِرَار، وَأَنْقِذْنِي وَانْفُ بِي عَلَى الْاِسْتِبْصَار، وَاحْفَظْنِي مِن يَدِ الْغَفْلَة وَسَلِّمْنِي إِلَى الْيَقْظَة

Please fend off delusions from me, save me and grant me good insight. And protect me against negligence, and secure me with awareness

بِسَعَادَةٍ مِنْكَ تُمْضِيهَا وَتَقْضِيهَا لِي، وَتُبَيِّضْ وَجْهِي لَدَيْك، وَتُزْلِفُنِي عِنْدَكْ

with prosperity from Yourself which you endorse and destine for me and brighten my face near you and bring me closer to Yourself

يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِين، وَصلى اللهُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدِ النَّبِيّ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّم

O the most Compassionate, Most Merciful. Please bestow Your peace and blessings on Muhammad and his Household.
