The 1st Day of ramadan

اللَّهُمَّ قَدْ حَضَرَ شَهْرُ رَمَضانَ وَقَدِ افْتَرَضْتَ عَلَيْنا صِيامَهُ ، وَأَنْزَلْتَ فِيْهِ القُرْآنَ هُدىً لِلنَّاسِ وَبَيِّناتٍ مِنَ الهُدى وَالفُرْقانِ. اللَّهُمَّ أَعِنّا عَلى صِيامِهِ ، وَتَقَبَّلْهُ مِنّا ، وَتَسَلَّمْهُ مِنّا ، وَسَلِّمْهُ لَنا فِي يُسْرٍ مِنْكَ وَعافِيَةٍ ، إِنَّكَ عَلى كُلِّ شَيٍْ قَدِيرٌ

O Allah, the month of Ramadan has arrived, and You have made its fasting obligatory upon us, and You revealed therein the Quran as a guidance for mankind and as clear proofs of guidance and the criterion. O Allah, help us in fasting it, and accept it from us, and receive it from us, and deliver it to us in ease from You and well-being; verily You have power over all things.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِاسْمِكَ الَّذِي دانَ لَهُ كُلُّ شَيٍْ ، وَبِرَحْمَتِكَ الَّتِي وَسِعَتْ كُلَّ شَيٍْ ، وَبِعَظَمَتِكَ الَّتِي تَواضَعَ لَها كُلُّ شَيٍْ ، وَبِعِزَّتِكَ الَّتِي قَهَرْتَ بِها كُلَّ شَيٍْ ، وَبِقُوَّتِكَ الَّتِي خَضَعَ لَها كُلُّ شَيٍْ ، وَبِجَبَرُوتِكَ الَّتِي غَلَبَتْ كُلَّ شَيٍْ ، وَبِعِلْمِكَ الَّذِي أَحاطَ بِكُلِّ شَيٍْ ، يا نُورُ يا قُدُّوسُ ، يا أوَّلَ قَبْلَ كُلِّ شَيٍْ ، وَيا باقِيا [١] بَعْدَ كُلِّ شَيٍْ ، يا الله يا رَحْمنُ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَاغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوبَ الَّتِي تُغَيِّرُ النِّعَمَ ، وَاغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوبَ الَّتِي تُنْزِلُ النِّقَمَ ، وَاغْفِرْ لِي الذُّنُوبَ الَّتِي تَقْطَعُ الرَّجاءَ ، وَاغْفِرْ لِي الذُّنُوبَ الَّتِي تُدِيلُ [٢] الأَعْداءَ ، وَاغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوبَ الَّتِي تَرُدُّ الدُّعاءَ ، وَاغْفِرْ لِي الذُّنُوبَ الَّتِي يُسْتَحَقُّ بِها نُزُولُ البَلاِء وَاغْفِرْ لِي الذُّنُوبَ الَّتِي تَحْبِسُ غَيْثَ السَّماء ، وَاغْفِرْ لِي الذُّنُوبَ الَّتِي تَكْشِفُ الغِطاء ، وَاغْفِرْ لِي الذُّنُوبَ الَّتِي تُعَجِّلُ الفَناء ، وَاغْفِر لِيَ الذُّنُوبَ الَّتِي تُورِثُ النَّدَمَ ، وَاغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوبَ الَّتِي تَهْتِكُ العِصَمَ ، وَأَلْبِسْنِي دِرْعَكَ الحَصِينَةَ الَّتِي لا تُرامُ ، وَعافِنِي مِنْ شَرِّ ما اُحاذِرُ بِاللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهارِ فِي مُسْتَقْبَلِ سَنَتِي هذِه. اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ السَّماواتِ السَّبْعِ ، وَرَبَّ الأَرْضِينَ السَّبْعِ وَمافِيهِنَّ وَمابَيْنَهُنَّ وَرَبَّ العَرْشِ العَظِيمِ ، وَرَبَّ السَّبْعِ المَثانِي وَالقُرْآنِ العَظِيمِ ، وَرَبَّ إِسْرافِيلَ وَمِيكائِيلَ وَجَبْرائِيلَ ، ورَبَّ مُحَمَّدٍ صلى‌الله‌عليه‌وآله سَيِّدِ المُرْسَلِينَ وَخاتَمِ النَّبِيِّينَ ، أَسْأَلُكَ بِكَ وَبِما سَمَّيْتَ بِهِ نَفْسَكَ يا عَظِيمُ أَنتَ الَّذِي تَمُنُّ بِالعَظِيمِ ، وَتَدْفَعُ كُلَّ

O Allah, I ask You by Your Name to which all things submit, and by Your mercy which encompasses all things, and by Your greatness before which all things humble themselves, and by Your might by which You overpower all things, and by Your strength to which all things yield, and by Your sovereignty which prevails over all things, and by Your knowledge which encompasses all things. O Light! O Most Holy! O First before all things, and O Everlasting after all things! O Allah! O Most Merciful! Send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, and forgive me the sins that alter blessings, and forgive me the sins that bring down retribution, and forgive me the sins that sever hope, and forgive me the sins that empower enemies, and forgive me the sins that repel supplication, and forgive me the sins that bring down calamity, and forgive me the sins that withhold the rain of the sky, and forgive me the sins that remove the cover, and forgive me the sins that hasten annihilation, and forgive me the sins that bring regret, and forgive me the sins that tear apart protection. And clothe me in Your impenetrable armor, and grant me well-being from the evil of what I fear by night and day in the coming year. O Allah, Lord of the seven heavens, and Lord of the seven earths and what is in them and between them, and Lord of the Mighty Throne, and Lord of the seven oft-repeated verses and the Glorious Quran, and Lord of Israfil and Mikail and Jibril, and Lord of Muhammad, blessings of Allah be upon him and his family, the master of the messengers and the seal of the prophets. I ask You by Yourself and by that with which You have named Yourself, O Almighty, You are the One who bestows the great, and repels every

مَحْذُورٍ ، وَتُعْطِي كُلَّ جَزِيلٍ ، وَتُضاعِفُ الحَسَناتِ [١] بِالقَلِيلِ وَبالكَثِيرِ وَتَفْعَلُ ماتَشاءُ يا قَدِيرُ يا الله يا رَحْمنُ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وأَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ ، وَأَلْبِسْنِي فِي مُسْتَقْبَلِ سَنَتِي هذِهِ سِتْرَكَ ، وَنَضِّرْ وَجْهِي بِنُورِكَ ، وَأَحِبَّنِي بِمَحَبَّتِكَ ، وَبَلِّغْنِي رِضْوانَكَ ، وَشَرِيفَ كَرامَتكَ ، وَجَسِيمَ عَطِيَّتِكَ ، وَأَعْطِنِي مِنْ خَيْرِ ما عِنْدَكَ وَمِنْ خَيْرِ ما أَنْتَ مُعْطِيهِ أَحَداً مِنْ خَلْقِكَ ، وَأَلْبِسْنِي مَعَ ذلِكَ عافِيَتَكَ يا مَوْضِعَ كُلِّ شَكْوى ، وَيا شاهِدَ كُلِّ نَجْوى ، وَيا عالِمَ كُلِّ خَفِيَّةٍ ، وَيادافِعَ ماتَشاءُ مِنْ بَلِيَّةٍ ، يا كَرِيمَ العَفْوِ يا حَسَنَ التَّجاوُزِ ، تَوَفَّنِي عَلى مِلَّةِ إِبْراهِيمَ وَفِطْرَتِهِ ، وَعَلى دِينِ مُحَمَّدٍ صلى‌الله‌عليه‌وآله وَسُنَّتِهِ ، وَعَلى خَيْرِ الوَفاةِ فَتَوَفَّنِي مُوالِيا لاَوْلِيائِكَ ، وَمُعادِيا [٢] لاَعْدائِكَ. اللَّهُمَّ وَجَنِّبْنِي فِي هذِهِ السَّنَةِ كُلَّ عَمَلٍ أَوْ قَوْلٍ أَوْ فِعْلٍ يُباعِدُنِي مِنْكَ ، وَاجْلِبْنِي إِلى كُلِّ عَمَلٍ أَوْ قَوْلٍ أَوْ فِعْلٍ يُقَرِّبُنِي مِنْكَ فِي هذِهِ السَّنَةِ يا أرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ ، وَامْنَعْنِي مِنْ كُلِّ عَمَلٍ أَوْ قَوْلٍ أَوْ فِعْلٍ يَكُونُ مِنِّي أَخافُ ضَرَرَ عاقِبَتِهِ ، وَأَخافُ مَقْتَكَ إِيَّايَ عَلَيْهِ حِذارَ أَنْ تَصْرِفَ وَجْهَكَ الكَرِيمَ عَنِّي فَأَسْتَوْجِبَ بِهِ نَقْصا مِنْ حَظٍّ لِي عِنْدَكَ ، يا رَؤُوفُ يا رَحِيمُ. اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِي فِي مُسْتَقْبَلِ سَنَتِي هذِهِ فِي حِفْظِكَ وَفِي جِوارِكَ وَفِي كَنَفِكَ ، وَجَلِّلْنِي سِتْرَ عافِيَتِكَ ، وَهَبْ لِي كَرامَتَكَ ، عَزَّ جارُكَ ، وَجَلَّ ثَناؤُكَ ، وَلا إِلهَ غَيْرُكَ. اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِي تابِعاً لِصالِحِي مَنْ مَضى مِنْ أَوْلِيائِكَ ، وَأَلْحِقْنِي بِهِمْ ، وَاجْعَلْنِي مُسَلِّما لِمَنْ قالَ بِالصِّدْقِ عَلَيْكَ مِنْهُمْ وأَعُوذُ بِكَ اللَّهُمَّ [٣] أَنْ تُحِيطَ بِي خَطِيئَتِي وَظُلْمِي وَإِسْرافِي عَلى نَفْسِي وَاتِّباعِي لِهَوايَ وَاشْتِغالِي بِشَهَواتِي فَيَحُولُ ذلِكَ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ رَحْمَتِكَ وَرِضْوانِكَ فَأَكُونُ مَنْسِيّا عِنْدَكَ ، مُتَعَرِّضاً لِسَخَطِكَ وَنِقْمَتِكَ. اللَّهُمَّ وَفِّقْنِي لِكُلِّ عَمَلٍ صالِحٍ تَرْضى بِهِ عَنِّي ، وَقَرِّبْنِي إِلَيْكَ زُلْفى. اللَّهُمَّ كَما كَفَيْتَ نَبِيَّكَ مُحَمَّداً صَلَّى

danger averted, and You bestow every generous gift, and You multiply good deeds for the small and the great, and You do as You will, O All-Powerful! O Allah! O Most Merciful! Send blessings upon Muhammad and his household, and clothe me in the coming year with Your cover, and brighten my face with Your light, and make me beloved through Your love, and grant me Your good pleasure and Your noble generosity and Your great gift. And give me from the best of what You have and from the best of what You give to any of Your creation, and clothe me along with that in Your well-being. O refuge of every complaint! O witness of every secret counsel! O knower of every hidden thing! O repeller of whatever You will of affliction! O generous in pardoning! O excellent in overlooking! Take my soul upon the creed and nature of Ibrahim, and upon the religion and practice of Muhammad, blessings of Allah be upon him and his family, and upon the best of deaths, so take my soul as one who loves Your friends and is hostile to Your enemies. O Allah, keep me away in this year from every deed or word or act that distances me from You, and draw me toward every deed or word or act that brings me near to You in this year, O Most Merciful of the merciful. And prevent me from every deed or word or act that I may do whose consequence I fear, and whose punishment from You I dread, lest You turn Your noble face away from me and I thereby deserve a decrease in my portion with You, O Most Compassionate, O Most Merciful. O Allah, place me in the coming year under Your protection and in Your refuge and in Your shelter, and cover me with the veil of Your well-being, and grant me Your generosity. Mighty is Your neighbor, and glorious is Your praise, and there is no god other than You. O Allah, make me a follower of the righteous among Your friends who have passed, and join me with them, and make me submissive to those among them who spoke the truth about You. And I seek refuge in You, O Allah, from my sins and my wrongdoing and my excess against myself and my following of my desires and my preoccupation with my lusts surrounding me, so that they come between me and Your mercy and Your good pleasure, and I become forgotten by You, exposed to Your wrath and Your retribution. O Allah, grant me success in every righteous deed by which You are pleased with me, and bring me nearer to You. O Allah, just as You sufficed Your Prophet Muhammad, blessings of Allah

لله عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ هَوْلَ عَدُوِّهِ ، وَفَرَّجْتَ هَمَّهُ ، وَكَشَفْتَ غَمَّهُ ، وَصَدَّقْتَهُ وَعْدَكَ ، وَأَنْجَزْتَ لَهُ عَهْدَكَ. اللَّهُمَّ فَبِذلِكَ فَاكْفِنِي هَوْلَ هذِهِ السَّنَةِ وَآفاتِها وأَسْقامَها وَفِتْنَتَها وَشُرُورِها وَأَحْزانَها وَضَيقَ المَعاشِ فِيها ، وَبَلِّغْنِي بِرَحْمَتِكَ كَمالَ العافِيَةِ بِتَمامِ دَوامِ النِّعْمَةِ عِنْدِي إِلى مُنْتَهى أَجَلِي ، أَسْأَلُكَ سُؤالَ مَنْ أَساءَ وَظَلَمَ وَاسْتَكانَ وَاعْتَرَفَ ، وَأَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تَغْفِرَ لِي ما مَضى مِنَ الذُّنُوبِ الَّتِي حَصَرْتَها حَفَظَتُكَ وَأَحْصَتْها مَلائِكَتِكَ عَلَيَّ ، وَأَنْ تَعْصِمَنِي إِلهِي مِنَ الذُّنُوبِ فِيما بَقِيَ مِنْ عُمْرِي إِلى مُنْتَهى أَجَلِي ، يا الله يا رَحْمنُ يا رَحِيمُ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَأَهْلِ بَيْتِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآتِنِي كُلَّ ماسَأَلْتُكَ وَرَغِبْتُ إِلَيْكَ فِيْهِ فَإِنَّكَ أَمَرْتَنِي بِالدُّعاءِ وَتَكَفَّلْتَ لِي بِالاِجابَةِ ، يا أرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ

upon him and his family, against the terror of his enemy, and You relieved his distress, and removed his grief, and fulfilled Your promise to him, and honored Your covenant with him. O Allah, by that same grace, suffice me against the terrors of this year and its calamities and its ailments and its trials and its evils and its sorrows and the straitened livelihood therein. And deliver me, by Your mercy, to complete well-being with the fullness of lasting blessing upon me until the end of my appointed time. I ask You the asking of one who has done wrong and been unjust and humbled himself and confessed. And I ask You to forgive me the past sins that Your guardian angels have recorded and Your angels have counted against me, and to protect me, my God, from sins in what remains of my life until the end of my appointed time. O Allah! O Most Merciful! O Most Compassionate! Send blessings upon Muhammad and the household of Muhammad, and grant me all that I have asked You and desired from You, for You have commanded me to supplicate and guaranteed me the answer, O Most Merciful of the merciful.
