Imam al-Baqir (`a) is reported to have said: Whoever suffers from headache may rub his head with his hand and repeat the following statement seven times:
1أَعُوذُ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلَّذِي سَكَنَ لَهُ مَا فِي ٱلْبَرِّ وَٱلْبَحْرِ
I beseech the protection of the One to Whom whatsoever in the lands, in the sea,

وَمَا فِي ٱلسَّمَاوَاتِ وَٱلأَرْضِ
in the heavens, and in the earth rests
- 3
وَهُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
and He is the All-hearing and All-knowing.

Sixteenth:Headache — Supplicatory Amulet against Headache — Recite the following holy verse on a glass of water and then drink it:
4أَوَلَمْ يَرَ ٱلَّذينَ كَفَرُوٱ
“Do not those who disbelieve

أَنَّ ٱلسَّمَاوَاتِ وَٱلأَرْضَ
see that the heavens and the earth
- 6
كَانَتَا رَتْقاً فَفَتَقْنَاهُمَا
were closed up, but We have opened them
- 7
وَجَعَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلْمَاءِ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ حَيٍّ
and We have made of water everything living?
- 8
أَفَلاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ.
Will they not then believe?”
