Short Powerful Duas. — Duas 1-5 — Duas 6-18 — Baqiyatusalehat — 1.Dua Jam'e (complete & concise)

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ عَلٰي كُلِّ نِعْمَةٍ وَ اَسْتَغْفِرُالله مِنْ كُلِّ ذَنْبٍ وَ اَسْئَلُهُ مِنْ كُلِّ خَيْرٍ وَ أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنْ كُلِّ شَرٍّ

alhamdu lillahii ‘ala kulli ne'matin wa astaghfirullaha min kulli zambin,wa asaluhu min kulli khairin,wa a’udhu billahi min kulli sharrin

Praise be to Allah for all the blessings. Oh Allah, Forgive all our sins, give us all that is good and keep us away from all that is bad

2.Small but Complete Dua:

اَللَّهُمَّ اِنِّي اَسْأَلُكَ الْأَمْنَ وَالْإِيْمَانَ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَة

allahumma inni asaluka wal amna wal eemaana fid-dunya wal aakhera

O Allah I ask of You peace & faith in this world and in the hereafter

3. Dua ne'mul badal

اِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلِيْهِ راجِعُون، اَللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِى فَرَجاً وَ مَخْرَجًا وَ الرْزُقْنِىْ خَيْرَ مِنْ حَيْثُ اَحْتَسِبُ وَ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا اَحْتَسِبُ بِحَقِّ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’oon, allahummaj’alni farajan wa makhrajan war zuqni khaira min haithu ahtasibu wa min haithu la ahtasib , bi haqqi Muhammadin wa ali muhammadin

We are from Allah & will return to Him. Oh Allah, let my affairs be free from care & make them profitable & give me means of livelihood from my share & from where I have no expectation. For the sake of Muhammad and the Progeny of Muhammad

4.Three short duas from Imam Taqi al Jawad علیه السلام

اللهُ اللهُ رَبِّي اَلرَّحْمَنُ الرَّحِيمُ لَا اُشْرِكُ بِهِ شَيْءً

Allaahu, Allaahu, Rabbi Ar-Rahmanur-Raheemu, Laa ushriku bihi shay'aa

Allah, Allah, my Lord, the Most Gracious [and] the Most Merciful I do not associate anything with Him

يَا مَنْ يَّكْفِىْ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَلَا يَكْفِى مِنْهُ شَيْءٌ اِكْفِنِي مَآ أَهَمَّنِي مِمَّا اَنَا فِيْهِ

Yaa may-yakfee min kulli shayin walaa yakfee minhu shayun ikfinee maa ahammanee mimaa anaa feehi

O He who is sufficient from all things but nothing is sufficient from Him. Be sufficient for me in what worries me in the state I am

َلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي خَلَقَنَا مِنْ نُورِهِ بِيَدِهِ وَاسْتَفَانَا مِنْ(م) بَرِيَّتِهِ وَجَعَلَنَا اُمَنَاهُ عَلٰى خَلْقِهِ وَ وَحْيِهِ

alhamdu lillaahil-ladhee khalaqanaa min-noorihee biyadihi wastafaanaa mim bariyyatihi wajaʿlanaa umanaahu ʿalaa khalqihee wa-wahyihi

Praise be to Allah who created us from His Light with His hand and dignified us over His creatures, and made us trustees of His creation and His revelation.

5. Four simple effective quranic duas

وَأُفَوِّضُ أَمْرِي إِلَى اللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ بَصِيرٌ بِالْعِبَادِ

Wa ufawwidhu amree ilallaah inallaaha baseerun bil ‘ibad

So you shall remember what I say to you, and I entrust my affair to Allah, Surely Allah sees the servants. [Sura Ghafir v 44)

مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ لَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ ۚ

Mashallahu la quwwata illa billah

It is as Allah has pleased, there is no power save in Allah [Sura Kahf, Verse 39]

لَّا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا أَنتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ

Laa ilaaha ilaa anta subhanaka innee kuntu minadhaalimeen

There is no god but Thou, glory be to Thee; surely I am of those who make themselves to suffer loss.Sura 21: 87

حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ

Hasbunallahu wa n’emal wakeel

Allah is sufficient for us and most excellent is the Protector.3: 173

عبدُكَ بِفَنكَ , سائلُكَ بِفَنكَ , مسكينُكَ بِفَنكَ , فقيرُكَ بِفَنكَ .

ʿAbduka bi-fannika Sāʾiluka bi-fannika Miskīnuka bi-fannika Faqīruka bi-fannika

Your servant/ slave , Your beseecher , Your needy Your poor is Coming to your door /grace

اَللَّهُمَّ اِنِّي اَسْأَلُكَ الْعَافِيَةِ وَالشُّكْرَ الْعَافِيَةِ

allahumma innee as-alukal ‘aafiyati washukr-al’aafiyati

O Allah I ask from You well-being, and to be grateful for the well-being.

لَا اِلَهَ اِلَّا اللهُ الْمَلِكُ الْحَقُّ الْمُبِينُ

la ilaaha illallah-ul malik-ul haqq-ul mubeenu

There is no god, except Allah, the Ruler, the Real, the Manifest

اُعِيْذُ نَفْسِيْ بِرَبِّ الْاَرْضِ وَرَبِّ السَّمَاءِ اُعِيْذُ نَفْسِيْ بِالَّذِيْ لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ دَاءٌ اُعِيْذُ نَفْسِيْ بِالَّذِيْ اسْمُهُ بَرَكَةٌ وَشِفَاءٌ.

Uʿidhoo nafsee birabbil-ardhi wa rabbis-samaa' Uʿidhoo nafsee billadhee laa yadhurru maʿa-smihi daa' Uʿidhoo nafsee billadhee-smuhu barakatun washifaa'

I seek protection for my soul in the Lord of the earth and the Lord of the heavens I seek protection for my soul in the One in whose name no sickness can hurt I seek protection for my soul in the One whose name is Blessed and a Cure.

اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى فَاطِمَةَ وَاِبَيهَا وَبَعْلِهَا وَبَنِيهَا وَسِرِّ الْمُسْتَوْدِعِ فِيهَا بِعَدَدِ مَا أَحَاطَ بِهِ عِلْمُكَ

allahumma salli ‘alaa Fatimata wa abeeha wa b’alihaa wa baneehaa wa sirr-il mustawdi’i feeha bi ‘adadi maa ahata bihi ‘ilmuk

O Allah send blessings on Fatima and her father, her husband and her sons, and by the secret installed in her, which only is in Your knowledge

إِنَّا جَعَلْنَا فِي أَعْنَاقِهِمْ أَغْلَالًا فَهِيَ إِلَى الْأَذْقَانِ فَهُم مُّقْمَحُونَ

Inna Ja'alna fee a'naqihim aghlaa lan fa hiya ilal adhqaani fahum muqmahoon

Verily we have put on their necks iron collars reaching upto their chins so that their heads are raised up. [Sura Yasin, Verse 8]

وَجَعَلْنَا مِن بَيْنِ أَيْدِيهِمْ سَدًّا وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ سَدًّا فَأَغْشَيْنَاهُمْ فَهُمْ لَا يُبْصِرُونَ

Wa ja ‘alna mim bayne Aide him saddawn min khal fe him saddan fa aghshayna hum fa hum la yubseroon

And we have put a barrier before them & a barrier behind them, and We have covered them up, so that they cannot see [Sura Yasin, Verse 9]

وَمَن يَتَّقِ اللَّهَ يَجْعَل لَّهُ مَخْرَجًا

Wa Mai Yattaqi Allāha Yajʿal Lahu Makhrajāan

Whoever is wary of Allah, He shall make for him a way out [of the adversities of the world and the Hereafter][Sura Talaq, Verses 2,]

وَيَرْزُقْهُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَحْتَسِبُ ۚوَمَن يَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللَّهِ فَهُوَ حَسْبُهُ ۚإِنَّ اللَّهَ بَالِغُ أَمْرِهِ ۚقَدْ جَعَلَ اللَّهُ لِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدْرًا

Wa Yarzuqhu Min Ĥaythu Lā Yaĥtasib. Wa Mai Yatawakkal ʿAlá Allāhi Fahuwa Ĥasbuh 'Inna Allāha Bālighu 'Amrihi Qad Jaʿala Allāhu Likulli Shay'in Qadrāa

and provide for him from whence he does not count upon.And whoever puts his trust in Allah, He will suffice him. Indeed Allah carries through His commands. Certainly, Allah has ordained a measure [and extent] for everything. [Sura Talaq, Verse 3]

11. Ya man yaqbalul yasīra

يَا مَنْ يَقْبَلُ الْيَسِيرَ وَ يَعْفو عَنِ الْكَثِيرَ،اِقْبَلْ مِنِّي الْيَسِيرَ وَ اعْفُ عَنِّى الْكَثِير،إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيم

Ya man Yaqbalul yasīra wa y’afo ‘Anil Kathīra Iqbal minnil Yasīra Wa ‘Āfo ‘Annil Kathīr innaka antal gahfoorror Rahim

O He who accepts little & forgives much, accept the little from me and forgive the high number of sins as you are the best of Forgivers and Merciful

12. Two short Duas to be recited daily from BY LADY KHADIJA(sa)

بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِيَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّومُ بِرَحْمَتِكَ اَسْتَغِيْثُ فَاَغِثْنِىوَلَا تَكِلْنِي إِلٰى نَفْسِي طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ وَأَصْلِحْ لِى شَاْنِى كُلَّه

Ya Hayyu Ya Qayyoomu birahmatika astagheetho, fa-aghithniwa laa Takilni ila nafsee Tarfata Aynin abadan, wa as-lih Lee Shani kullahu

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. O Ever-Living, O Self-Sustaining, by Your mercy I seek help, so help me anddo not leave me to myself for the blink of an eye, and set right all my affairs.

بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِيَا اللهُ يَا حَافِظُ يَا حَفِيظُ يَا رَقِيبُ

Ya Allaho Ya Haafizo Ya Hafizo Ya Raqeebo

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.O God, O Preserver, O Guardian, O Watcher.

13. In "Tuhfatu Ridawiyah"

يَا مَنْ إِذا تَضايَقَتِ الْاُمُورُ فَتَحَ لَها باباً

Yā man idhā taḍāyaqatil-umūru fataḥa lahā bāban

O You Who, when matters become constrained, open for them a door

لَمْ تَذْهَبْ إِلَيْهِ الْأَوْهامُ

Lam tadhhab ilayhi al-awhām

That no thoughts have ever gone towards

صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

Ṣalli ʿalā Muḥammadin wa-āli Muḥammad

Send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad

وَافْتَحْ لِاُمُورِي الْمُتَضايِقَةِ باباً

Wa-ftaḥ li-umūrī al-mutaḍāyiqati bāban

And open for my constrained matters a door

لَمْ يَذْهَبْ إِلَيْهِ وَهْمٌ

Lam yadhhab ilayhi wahmun

That no thought has ever gone towards

يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ

Yā arḥama al-rāḥimīn

O Most Merciful of the merciful

يا مَنْ إِذا تَضايَقَتِ الْاُمُورُ فَتَحَ لَها باباً لَمْ تَذْهَبْ إِلَيْهِ الْأَوْهامُ ، صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، وَافْتَحْ لِاُمُورِي الْمُتَضايِقَةِ باباً لَمْ يَذْهَبْ إِلَيْهِ وَهْمٌ يا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمينَ .

O' He when the affairs has become difficult He opens ways we didn't imagine, so send Your blessing on Muhammad and on the family of Muhammad, open ways out of my difficulties that I didn't imagine, O' the Most Merciful of the merciful.

14. Seeking Wellness

اللهم إني أَسْأَلُكَ العَفْوَ والعَافِيَةَ والمُعَافَاةَ في الدُنْيا والآخِرَةْ .

Allhumma Inni Asaloka Al Afwa wal Afiyata walmuafata fiddunya wal akhira

O Allah I ask you for Wellbeig in this word and the next

15.Three Magnificient sentences from Imam `Ali ibn Abi-Talib (as)

إِلٰهِي كَفَىٰ بِيَ عِزّاً انْ اكُونَ لَكَ عَبْداً

ilahi kafa biya ʿizzan an akuna laka ʿabdan

O my God, to be a servant of You is the ultimate of my honor

وَكَفَىٰ بِيَ فَخْراً انْ تَكُونَ لِيَ رَبّاً

wa kafa biya fakhran an takuna li rabban

and Your being my Lord is the ultimate of my pride.

انْتَ كَمَا احِبُّ فَٱجْعَلْنِي كَمَا تُحِبُّ

anta kama uhibbu fajʿalni kama tuhibbu

As You are as exactly as I love, please make me as exactly as You love

16.Imam Muhammad Al-Baqir (as)

يَا أسْمَعَ السَّامِعِينَ، وَيَا أبْصَرَ النّاظِرِينَ، وَيَا أسْرَعَ الحَاسِبِينَ، وَيَا أرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ، وَيَا أحْكَمَ الحَاكِمِينَ.

Ya asma as saame eena wa ya absaran naazereena wa ya asraul haasebeena ya arham ar raahemeena wa ya ahkamul haakemeena

O Most Hearing of hearers, O Most Seeing of seers, O Swiftest of reckoners, O Most Merciful of the merciful, O Most Just of judges.

17.Comprehensive Dua For The World & Hereafter

سُبْحَانَ اللّٰهِ الْعَظيْمِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ اَسْتَغْفِرُ اللّٰهَ وَاَسْئَلُهُ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ۔

18.For help in conveying your point in Speech / Meeting, Recite

ك ه ي ع صح م ع س ققَالَ رَبِّ اشْرَحْ لِي صَدْرِي ﴿٢٥﴾ وَيَسِّرْ لِي أَمْرِي ﴿٢٦﴾ وَاحْلُلْ عُقْدَةً مِّن لِّسَانِي ﴿٢٧﴾ يَفْقَهُوا قَوْلِي ﴿٢٨﴾

Short General Haajat duas from Baqiyatus SalehatFifth: Imam al-Sadiq (ʿa) is reported to have raised his hands towards the sky and said this supplicatory prayer:رب لا تكلني إلى نفسي طرفة عين أبداrabbi la takilni ila nafsi tarfata ʿaynin abadanO my Lord, never relegate me to myself even for a winking of an eye,لا أقل من ذلك ولا أكثرla aqalla min dhalika wa la aktharaless than that, or more than that.Sixth: Imam al-Sadiq (ʿa) is also reported to have advised of saying this supplicatory prayer:إرحمني مما لا طاقة لي به ولا صبر لي عليهirhamni mimma la taqata li bihi wa la sabra li ʿalayhi(Please) have mercy upon me against what I am too feeble to do and what I am too impatient to stand.Seventh: Imam al-Sadiq (ʿa) is also reported to have advised of saying this supplicatory prayer:اللهم إني أسألك بجلالك وجمالك وكرمك أن…allahumma inni as'aluka bijalalika wa jamalika wa karamika an…Allah, I beseech You in the name of Your majesty, beauty, and generosity toOne may now submit his requests.Eighth: Fadl ibn Yunus has reported that Imam al-Kazim (ʿa) advised him to repeat this supplicatory prayer very much:اللهم لا تجعلني من ٱلمعارينallahumma la tajʿalni min almuʿarinaO Allah, (please) do not make me of the unfixed-heartedولا تخرجني من ٱلتقصيرwa la tukhrijni min alttaqsiriand do not make me feel not negligent.To explain, the first statement is a prayer for not including with those whose faith is as irregular as loans, which means that faith is not fixed in their hearts. However, the statement may also stand for a prayer for not including with those whom are relegated to themselves and Allah the Almighty has no interference in their affairs, just like a horse whose rein is thrown freely on its wither and is left to graze uncontrollably. The second statement is a prayer for not including with those who feel themselves to have carried out their duties towards their Lord flawlessly. In fact, one must always feel that he cannot carry out his duties towards his Lord fully whatever efforts he would exert.Ninth: Reported from Imam al-Baqir (as) "Allah swt has forgiven a Bedouin man for these two words he said in his prayer:اللهم إن تعذبني فأهل لذلك أنٱallahumma in tuʿadhdhibni fa'ahlun lidhalika anaO Allah, if You punish me, then this befits me,وإن تغفر لي فأهل لذلك أنتwa in taghfir li fa'ahlun lidhalika antabut if You forgive me, then it befits You.Tenth: Dawud al-Raqqi has said: Whenever he insisted in prayers, Imam al-Sadiq (ʿa) would pray Almighty Allah in the name of the Five Persons: the Holy Prophet, Imam ʿAli, Lady Fatimah, Imam al-Hasan, and Imam al-Husayn, peace be upon them.Eleventh: Yazid al-Sa'igh is reported to have said: I asked Imam al-Sadiq (ʿa) to pray Almighty Allah for our good. He therefore said:اللهم ٱرزقهم صدق ٱلحديثallahumma irzuqhum sidqa alhadithiO Allah, (please) endue them with truthfulness in speech,وأداء ٱلأمانةwa ada'a al-amanatifulfillment of trusts,وٱلمحافظة على ٱلصلواتwalmuhafazata ʿala alssalawatiand constant attendance to prayers.اللهم إنهم أحق خلقك أن تفعله بهمallahumma innahum ahaqqu khalqika an tafʿalahu bihimO Allah, they are the worthiest of all of Your creatures to obtain this from You;اللهم ٱفعله بهمallahumma ifʿalhu bihimtherefore, O Allah, do it to them.Twelfth: Say this supplicatory prayer, which Imam ʿAli Amir al-Mu'minin (ʿa) used to say:اللهم من علي بٱلتوكل عليكallahumma munna ʿalayya bilttawakkuli ʿalaykaO Allah, endue me with reliance on You,وٱلتفويض إليكwalttafwidi ilaykaentrusting (all my affairs) with You,وٱلرضا بقدركwalrrida biqadarikasatisfaction with Your decree,وٱلتسليم لأمركwalttaslimi li'amrikaand submission to Your ordinanceحتى لا أحب تعجيل ما أخرتhatta la uhibba taʿjila ma akhkhartaso that I would not long for hastening what You delayولا تأخير ما عجلتwa la ta'khira ma ʿajjaltaand delaying what You hasten.يا رب ٱلعالمينya rabba alʿalaminaO Lord of the worlds!Thirtieth: Yunus is reported to have asked Imam al-Rida (ʿa) for a brief supplicatory prayer; so, the Imam (ʿa) taught him to say this:يا من دلني على نفسهya man dallani ʿala nafsihiO He Who has guided me to Himselfوذلل قلبي بتصديقهwa dhallala qalbi bitasdiqihiand humiliated my heart by testifying to Him,أسألك ٱلأمن وٱلإيـمانas'aluka al-amna wal-imanaI beseech You for security and faith.

Fifth: Imam al-Sadiq (`a) is reported to have raised his hands towards the sky and said this supplicatory prayer:

رَبِّ لاَ تَكِلْنِي إِلىٰ نَفْسِي طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ أَبَداً

rabbi la takilni ila nafsi tarfata ʿaynin abadan

O my Lord, never relegate me to myself even for a winking of an eye,

لاَ أَقَلَّ مِنْ ذٰلِكَ وَلاَ أَكْثَرَ

la aqalla min dhalika wa la akthara

less than that, or more than that.

Sixth: Imam al-Sadiq (`a) is also reported to have advised of saying this supplicatory prayer:

إِرْحَمْنِي مِمَّا لاَ طَاقَةَ لِي بِهِ وَلاَ صَبْرَ لِي عَلَيْهِ

irhamni mimma la taqata li bihi wa la sabra li ʿalayhi

(Please) have mercy upon me against what I am too feeble to do and what I am too impatient to stand.

Seventh: Imam al-Sadiq (`a) is also reported to have advised of saying this supplicatory prayer:

اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِجَلاَلِكَ وَجَمَالِكَ وَكَرَمِكَ أَنْ…

allahumma inni as'aluka bijalalika wa jamalika wa karamika an…

Allah, I beseech You in the name of Your majesty, beauty, and generosity to

Eighth: Fadl ibn Yunus has reported that Imam al-Kazim (`a) advised him to repeat this supplicatory prayer very much:

اَللَّهُمَّ لاَ تَجْعَلْنِي مِنَ ٱلْمُعَارِينَ

allahumma la tajʿalni min almuʿarina

O Allah, (please) do not make me of the unfixed-hearted

وَلاَ تُخْرِجْنِي مِنَ ٱلتَّقْصِيرِ

wa la tukhrijni min alttaqsiri

and do not make me feel not negligent.

Ninth: Reported from Imam al-Baqir (as) "Allah swt has forgiven a Bedouin man for these two words he said in his prayer:

اَللَّهُمَّ إِنْ تُعَذِّبْنِي فَأَهْلٌ لِذٰلِكَ أَنَٱ

allahumma in tuʿadhdhibni fa'ahlun lidhalika ana

O Allah, if You punish me, then this befits me,

وَإِنْ تَغْفِرْ لِي فَأَهْلٌ لِذٰلِكَ أَنْتَ

wa in taghfir li fa'ahlun lidhalika anta

but if You forgive me, then it befits You.

Tenth: Dawud al-Raqqi has said: Whenever he insisted in prayers, Imam al-Sadiq (`a) would pray Almighty Allah in the name of the Five Persons: the Holy Prophet, Imam `Ali, Lady Fatimah, Imam al-Hasan,

اَللَّهُمَّ ٱرْزُقْهُمْ صِدْقَ ٱلْحَدِيثِ

Eleventh: Yazid al-Sa'igh is reported to have said: I asked Imam al-Sadiq (ʿa) to pray Almighty Allah for our good. He therefore said:

allahumma irzuqhum sidqa alhadithi

O Allah, (please) endue them with truthfulness in speech,

وَأَدَاءَ ٱلأَمَانَةِ

wa ada'a al-amanati

fulfillment of trusts,

وَٱلْمُحَافَظَةَ عَلَىٰ ٱلصَّلَوَاتِ

walmuhafazata ʿala alssalawati

and constant attendance to prayers.

اَللَّهُمَّ إِنَّهُمْ أَحَقُّ خَلْقِكَ أَنْ تَفْعَلَهُ بِهِمْ

allahumma innahum ahaqqu khalqika an tafʿalahu bihim

O Allah, they are the worthiest of all of Your creatures to obtain this from You;

اَللَّهُمَّ ٱفْعَلْهُ بِهِمْ

allahumma ifʿalhu bihim

therefore, O Allah, do it to them.

اَللَّهُمَّ مُنَّ عَلَيَّ بِٱلتَّوَكُّلِ عَلَيْكَ

allahumma munna ʿalayya bilttawakkuli ʿalayka

O Allah, endue me with reliance on You,

وَٱلتَّفوِيضِ إِلَيْكَ

walttafwidi ilayka

entrusting (all my affairs) with You,

وَٱلرِّضَا بِقَدَرِكَ

walrrida biqadarika

satisfaction with Your decree,

وَٱلتَّسْلِيمِ لأَمْرِكَ

walttaslimi li'amrika

and submission to Your ordinance

حَتَّىٰ لاَ أُحِبَّ تَعْجِيلَ مَا أَخَّرْتَ

hatta la uhibba taʿjila ma akhkharta

so that I would not long for hastening what You delay

وَلاَ تَأْخِيرَ مَا عَجَّلْتَ

wa la ta'khira ma ʿajjalta

and delaying what You hasten.

يَا رَبَّ ٱلْعَالَمِينَ

ya rabba alʿalamina

O Lord of the worlds!

Thirtieth: Yunus is reported to have asked Imam al-Rida (`a) for a brief supplicatory prayer; so, the Imam (`a) taught him to say this:

يَا مَنْ دَلَّنِي عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِ

ya man dallani ʿala nafsihi

O He Who has guided me to Himself

وَذَلَّلَ قَلْبِي بِتَصْدِيقِهِ

wa dhallala qalbi bitasdiqihi

and humiliated my heart by testifying to Him,

أَسْأَلُكَ ٱلأَمْنَ وَٱلإِيـمَانَ

as'aluka al-amna wal-imana

I beseech You for security and faith.
