Ziyarat of Imam Hadi (as)

أَأَدْخُلُ يَا نَبِيَّ ٱللَّهِ

a'adkhulu ya nabiyya allahi

May I enter, O Prophet of Allah?

أَأَدْخُلُ يَا امِيرَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

a'adkhulu ya amira almu'minina

May I enter, O Commander of the Faithful?

أَأَدْخُلُ يَا فَاطِمَةُ ٱلزَّهْرَاءُ

a'adkhulu ya fatimatu alzzahra'u

May I enter, O Fatimah the luminous

سَيِّدَةَ نِسَاءِ ٱلْعَالَمِينَ

sayyidata nisa'i alAlamina

and the doyenne of the women of the world?

أَأَدْخُلُ يَا مَوْلاَيَ ٱلْحَسَنُ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ

a'adkhulu ya mawlaya alhasanu bna Aliyyin

May I enter, O my master al-Hasan the son of Ali?

أَأَدْخُلُ يَا مَوْلاَيَ ٱلْحُسَيْنُ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ

a'adkhulu ya mawlaya alhusaynu bna Aliyyin

May I enter, O my master al-Husayn the son of Ali?

أَأَدْخُلُ يَا مَوْلاَيَ عَلِيُّ بْنَ ٱلْحُسَيْنِ

a'adkhulu ya mawlaya Aliyyu bna alhusayni

May I enter, O my master Ali the son of al-Husayn?

أَأَدْخُلُ يَا مَوْلاَيَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ

a'adkhulu ya mawlaya muhammadu bna Aliyyin

May I enter, O my master Muhammad the son of Ali?

أَأَدْخُلُ يَا مَوْلاَيَ جَعْفَرُ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ

a'adkhulu ya mawlaya ja`faru bna muhammadin

May I enter, O my master Ja`far the son of Muhammad?

أَأَدْخُلُ يَا مَوْلاَيَ مُوسَىٰ بْنَ جَعْفَرٍ

a'adkhulu ya mawlaya musabna ja`farin

May I enter, O my master Musa the son of Ja`far?

أَأَدْخُلُ يَا مَوْلاَيَ عَلِيُّ بْنَ مُوسَىٰ

a'adkhulu ya mawlaya Aliyyu bna musa

May I enter, O my master Ali the son of Musa?

أَأَدْخُلُ يَا مَوْلاَيَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ

a'adkhulu ya mawlaya muhammadu bna Aliyyin

May I enter, O my master Muhammad the son of Ali?

أَأَدْخُلُ يَا مَوْلاَيَ يَا ابَا ٱلْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ

a'adkhulu ya mawlaya yaabaalhasani Aliyyu bna muhammadin

May I enter, O my master Abul-Hasan Ali the son of Muhammad?

أَأَدْخُلُ يَا مَوْلاَيَ يَا ابَا مُحَمَّدٍ ٱلْحَسَنُ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ

a'adkhulu ya mawlaya yaabamuhammadin alhasanu bna Aliyyin

May I enter, O my master Abu-Muhammad al-Hasan the son of Ali?

أَأَدْخُلُ يَا مَلاَئِكَةَ ٱللَّهِ

a'adkhulu ya mala'ikata allahi

May I enter, O angels of Allah

ٱلْمُوَكَّلِينَ بِهٰذَا ٱلْحَرَمِ ٱلشَّرِيفِ

almuwakkalina bihadhaalharami alshsharifi

whom are assigned to manage this holy sanctuary?

اَللَّهُ اكْبَرُ

allahu akbar

Allah is the Most Great.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابَا ٱلْحَسَنِ

alssalamu Alayka ya aba alhasani

Peace be upon you, O Abul-Hasan

عَلِيُّ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ

Aliyyu bna muhammadin

Ali the son of Muhammad,

ٱلزَّكِيُّ ٱلرَّاشِدُ

alzzakiyyu alrrashida

the pious, right-directing,

ٱلنُّورُ ٱلثَّاقِبُ

alnnura alththaqiba

and brightly shining light.

وَرَحْمَةُ ٱللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ

wa rahmatu allahi wa barakatuhu

Allahs mercy and blessings be upon you.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا صَفِيَّ ٱللَّهِ

alssalamu Alayka ya Ľafiyya allahi

Peace be upon you, O sincerely attached friend of Allah.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا سِرَّ ٱللَّهِ

alssalamu Alayka ya sirra allahi

Peace be upon you, O confidant of Allah.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا حَبْلَ ٱللَّهِ

alssalamu Alayka ya habla allahi

Peace be upon you, O rope of Allah.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا آلَ ٱللَّهِ

alssalamu Alayka ya ala allahi

Peace be upon you, O household of Allah.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا خِيَرةَ ٱللَّهِ

alssalamu Alayka ya khiyarata allahi

Peace be upon you, O select of Allah.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا صَفْوَةَ ٱللَّهِ

alssalamu Alayka ya Ľafwata allahi

Peace be upon you, O choice of Allah.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا امِينَ ٱللَّهِ

alssalamu Alayka ya amina allahi

Peace be upon you, O trustee of Allah.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا حَقَّ ٱللَّهِ

alssalamu Alayka ya haqqa allahi

Peace be upon you, O proof of Allah.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا حَبِيبَ ٱللَّهِ

alssalamu Alayka ya habiba allahi

Peace be upon you, O most-beloved by Allah.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا نُورَ ٱلانْوَارِ

alssalamu Alayka ya nura al-anwari

Peace be upon you, O light of the lights.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا زَيْنَ ٱلابْرَارِ

alssalamu Alayka ya zayna al-abrari

Peace be upon you, O pride of the virtuous ones.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا سَلِيلَ ٱلاخْيَارِ

alssalamu Alayka ya salila al-akhyari

Peace be upon you, O descendant of the upright ones.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا عُنْصُرَ ٱلاطْهَارِ

alssalamu Alayka ya `unĽura al-athari

Peace be upon you, O essence of the purified ones.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا حُجَّةَ ٱلرَّحْمٰنِ

alssalamu Alayka ya hujjata alrrahmani

Peace be upon you, O argument of the All-beneficent God.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا رُكْنَ ٱلإِيـمَانِ

alssalamu Alayka ya rukna al-imani

Peace be upon you, O essence of the true faith.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مَوْلَىٰ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

alssalamu Alayka ya mawla almu'minina

Peace be upon you, O master of the believers.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَلِيَّ ٱلصَّالِحِينَ

alssalamu Alayka ya waliyya alĽĽalihina

Peace be upon you, O guardian of the righteous ones.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا عَلَمَ ٱلْهُدَىٰ

alssalamu Alayka ya Alama alhuda

Peace be upon you, O symbol of true guidance.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا حَلِيفَ ٱلتُّقَىٰ

alssalamu Alayka ya halifa alttuqa

Peace be upon you, O ally of piety.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا عَمُودَ ٱلدِّينِ

alssalamu Alayka ya Amuda alddini

Peace be upon you, O mainstay of the religion.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بْنَ خَاتَمِ ٱلنَّبِيِّينَ

alssalamu Alayka yabna khatami alnnabiyyina

Peace be upon you, O son of the seal of the Prophets.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بْنَ سَيِّدِ ٱلْوَصِيِّينَ

alssalamu Alayka yabna sayyidi alwaĽiyyina

Peace be upon you, O son of the chief of the Prophets successors.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بْنَ فَاطِمَةَ ٱلزَّهْرَاءِ

alssalamu Alayka yabna fatimata alzzahra'i

Peace be upon you, O son of Fatimah the Luminous

سَيِّدَةِ نِسَاءِ ٱلْعَالَمِينَ

sayyidati nisa'i alAlamina

and the doyenne of the women of the world.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ ايُّهَا ٱلامِينُ ٱلْوَفِيُّ

alssalamu Alayka ayyuha al-aminu alwafiyyu

Peace be upon you, O faithful trustee.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ ايُّهَا ٱلْعَلَمُ ٱلرَّضِيُّ

alssalamu Alayka ayyuha alAlamu alrradiyyu

Peace be upon you, O favorite epitome.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ ايُّهَا ٱلزَّاهِدُ ٱلتَّقِيُّ

alssalamu Alayka ayyuha alzzahidu alttaqiyyu

Peace be upon you, O ascetic and pious.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ ايُّهَا ٱلْحُجَّةُ عَلَىٰ ٱلْخَلْقِ اجْمَعِينَ

alssalamu Alayka ayyuha alhujjatu Ala alkhalqi ajma`ina

Peace be upon you, O decisive argument against all creatures.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ ايُّهَا ٱلتَّالِي لِلْقُرْآنِ

alssalamu Alayka ayyuha alttali lilqur'ani

Peace be upon you, O succeeding of the Qur'an.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ ايُّهَا ٱلْمُبَيِّنُ لِلْحَلاَلِ مِنَ ٱلْحَرَامِ

alssalamu Alayka ayyuha almubayyinu lilhalali min alharami

Peace be upon you, O distinguishing between the lawful and the unlawful.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ ايُّهَا ٱلْوَلِيُّ ٱلنَّاصِحُ

alssalamu Alayka ayyuha alwaliyyu alnnaĽihu

Peace be upon you, O sincere saint.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ ايُّهَا ٱلطَّرِيقُ ٱلْوَاضِحُ

alssalamu Alayka ayyuha alttariqu alwadihu

Peace be upon you, O evident course.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ ايُّهَا ٱلنَّجْمُ ٱللاَّئِحُ

alssalamu Alayka ayyuha alnnajmu alla'ihu

Peace be upon you, O bright star.

اشْهَدُ يَا مَوْلاَيَ يَا ابَا ٱلْحَسَنِ

ashhadu ya mawlaya ya aba alhasani

I bear witness, O my master Abul-Hasan,

انَّكَ حُجَّةُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَىٰ خَلْقِهِ

annaka hujjatu allahi Ala khalqihi

that you are verily the decisive argument of Allah against His creatures,

وَخَلِيفَتُهُ فِي بَرِيَّتِهِ

wa khalifatuhu fi bariyyatihi

His representative among His created beings,

وَامِينُهُ فِي بِلاَدِهِ

wa aminuhu fi biladihi

His trusted administrator in His lands,

وَشَاهِدُهُ عَلَىٰ عِبَادِهِ

wa shahiduhu Ala `ibadihi

and His witness over His servants.

وَاشْهَدُ انَّكَ كَلِمَةُ ٱلتَّقْوَىٰ

wa ashhadu annaka kalimatu alttaqwa

I also bear witness that you are verily the word of piety,

وَبَابُ ٱلْهُدَىٰ

wa babu alhuda

the door to true guidance,

وَٱلْعُرْوَةُ ٱلْوُثْقَىٰ

wal`urwatu alwuthqa

the Firmest Handle,

وَٱلْحُجَّةُ عَلَىٰ مَنْ فَوْقَ ٱلارْضِ

walhujjatu Ala man fawqa al-ardi

and the evident proof against those who are on the earth

وَمَنْ تَحْتَ ٱلثَّرَىٰ

wa man tahta alththara

and those who are beneath the layers of the soil.

وَاشْهَدُ انَّكَ ٱلْمُطَهَّرُ مِنَ ٱلذُّنُوبِ

wa ashhadu annaka almutahharu min aldhdhunubi

I bear witness that you are purified from sins,

ٱلْمُبَرَّامِنَ ٱلْعُيُوبِ

almubarra'u min al`uyubi

cleaned against defects,

وَٱلْمُخْتَصُّ بِكَرَامَةِ ٱللَّهِ

walmukhtaĽĽu bikaramati allahi

bestowed with the honor of Allah,

وَٱلْمَحْبُوُّ بِحُجَّةِ ٱللَّهِ

walmahbuwwubihujjati allahi

endued with the proof of Allah,

وَٱلْمَوْهُوبُ لَهُ كَلِمَةُ ٱللَّهِ

walmawhubu lahu kalimatu allahi

granted the Word of Allah,

وَٱلرُّكْنُ ٱلَّذِي يَلْجَاإِِلَيْهِ ٱلْعِبَادُ

walrruknu alladhi yalja'u ilayhi al`ibadu

and the stronghold to whom the servants (of Allah) resort

وَتُحْيَىٰ بِهِ ٱلْبِلاَدُ

wa tuhya bihi albiladu

and by whom the lands are revived.

وَاشْهَدُ يَا مَوْلاَيَ

wa ashhadu ya mawlaya

I bear witness, O my master,

انِّي بِكَ وَبِآبَائِكَ وَابْنَائِكَ مُوقِنٌ مُقِرٌّ

anni bika wa bi'aba'ika wa abna'ika muqinun muqirrun

that I have faith in and I submit to you, your forefathers and your sons,

وَلَكُمْ تَابِعٌ فِي ذَاتِ نَفْسِي

wa lakum tabi`un fi dhati nafsi

I follow all of you in my personal affairs,

وَشَرَايِعِ دِينِي

wa sharayi`i dini

in my religious performance,

وَخَاتِمَةِ عَمَلِي

wa khatimati Amali

in the seals of my deed,

وَمُنْقَلَبِي وَمَثْوَايَ

wa munqalabi wa mathwaya

and in my return and final place.

وَانِّي وَلِيٌّ لِمَنْ وَالاَكُمْ

wa anni waliyyun liman walakum

I do show loyalty to your loyalists,

وَعَدُوٌّ لِمَنْ عَادَاكُمْ

wa Aduwwun liman Adakum

I show enmity towards your enemies,

مُؤْمِنٌ بِسِرِّكُمْ وَعَلاَنِيَتِكُمْ

mu'minun bisirrikum wa Alaniyatikum

I believe in all of the invisible and the visible,

وَاوَّلِكُمْ وَآخِرِكُمْ

wa awwalikum wa akhirikum

and the first and the last of you.

بِابِي انْتَ وَامِّي

bi'abi anta wa ummi

May Allah accept my father and mother as ransoms for you.

وَٱلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ وَرَحْمَةُ ٱللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ

walssalamu Alayka wa rahmatu allahi wa barakatuhu

Peace and Allahs mercy and blessings be upon you.

اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

allahumma Ľalli Ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin

O Allah, (please do) send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad

وَصَلِّ عَلَىٰ حُجَّتِكَ ٱلْوَفِيِّ

wa Ľalli Ala hujjatika alwafiyyi

and send blessings upon Your faithful demonstrator,

وَوَلِيِّكَ ٱلزَّكِيِّ

wa waliyyika alzzakiyyi

Your sagacious representative,

وَامِينِكَ ٱلْمُرْتَضَىٰ

wa aminika almurtada

Your well-pleased trustee,

وَصَفِيِّكَ ٱلْهَادِي

wa Ľafiyyika alhadi

Your sincerely attached guide,

وَصِرَاطِكَ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمِ

wa Ľiratika almustaqimi

Your Right Path,

وَٱلْجَادَّةِ ٱلْعُظْمَىٰ

waljaddati al`uzma

the most important approach,

وَٱلطَّرِيقَةِ ٱلْوُسْطَىٰ

walttariqati alwusta

the just and equitable course,

نُورِ قُلُوبِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

nuri qulubi almu'minina

the light of the faithful believers hearts,

وَوَلِيِّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ

wa waliyyi almuttaqina

the friend of the pious ones,

وَصَاحِبِ ٱلْمُخْلِصِينَ

wa Ľahibi almukhliĽina

and the comrade of the sincere.

اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَاهْلِ بَيْتِهِ

allahumma Ľalli Ala sayyidina muhammadin wa ahli baytihi

O Allah, (please do) send blessings upon our Master Muhammad and upon his Household

وَصَلِّ عَلَىٰ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ

wa Ľalli Ala Aliyyi bni muhammadin

and send blessings upon Ali the son of Muhammad,

ٱلرَّاشِدِ ٱلْمَعْصُومِ مِنَ ٱلزَّلَلِ

alrrashidi alma`Ľumi min alzzalali

the rightly-directing, the infallible guide,

وَٱلطَّاهِرِ مِنَ ٱلْخَلَلِ

walttahiri min alkhalali

the free from defects,

وَٱلْمُنْقَطِعِ إِِلَيْكَ بِٱلامَلِ

walmunqati`i ilayka bil-amali

who, putting hope in You, kept himself aloof from temptations,

ٱلْمَبْلُوِّ بِٱلْفِتَنِ

almabluwwi bilfitani

who was tried (by You) through seditious matters,

وَٱلْمُخْتَبَرِ بِٱلْمِحَنِ

walmukhtabari bilmihani

who was tested (by You) through tribulations,

وَٱلْمُمْتَحَنِ بِحُسْنِ ٱلْبَلْوَىٰ

walmumtahani bihusni albalwa

who was examined (by You) through acting excellently towards misfortunes,

وَصَبْرِ ٱلشَّكْوَىٰ

wa Ľabri alshshakwa

and through steadfastness against complaining;

مُرْشِدِ عِبَادِكَ

murshidi `ibadika

(he is) the spiritual guide of Your servants,

وَبَرَكَةِ بِلاَدِكَ

wa barakati biladika

the blessing for Your lands,

وَمَحَلِّ رَحْمَتِكَ

wa mahalli rahmatika

the destination of Your mercy,

ومُسْتَوْدَعِ حِكْمَتِكَ

wa mustawda`i hikmatika

the hoarder of Your wisdom,

وَٱلْقَائِدِ إِلَىٰ جَنَّتِكَ

walqa'idi ila jannatika

the leader to Your Paradise,

ٱلْعَالِمِ فِي بَرِيَّتِكَ

alAlimi fi bariyyatika

the all-knowledgeable among Your created beings,

وَٱلْهَادِي فِي خَلِيقَتِكَ

walhadi fi khaliqatika

the true guide of Your creatures,

ٱلَّذِي ٱرْتَضَيْتَهُ وَٱنْتَجَبْتَهُ

alladhi irtadaytahu wantajabtahu

whom You pleased, preferred,

وَٱخْتَرْتَهُ لِمَقَامِ رَسُولِكَ فِي امَّتِهِ

wakhtartahu limaqami rasulika fi ummatihi

selected to take the place of Your Prophet among his people,

وَالْزَمْتَهُ حِفْظَ شَرِيعَتِهِ

wa alzamtahu hifza shariAtihi

and bounded with the guardianship of his laws.

فَٱسْتَقَلَّ بِاعْبَاءِ ٱلْوَصِيَّةِ

fastaqalla bi'a`ba'i alwaĽiyyati

So, he accomplished the onerous task of representation (of the Prophet),

نَاهِضاً بِهَا

nahidan biha

carrying it perfectly,

ومُضْطَلِعاً بِحَمْلِهَا

wa mudtaliAn bihamliha

and undertaking the responsibility of bearing it.

لَمْ يَعْثُرْ فِي مُشْكِلٍ

lam ya`thur fi mushkilin

He neither slipped in any problematic action

وَلاَ هَفَا فِي مُعْضِلٍ

wa la hafa fi mu`dilin

nor did he fail to solve any complexity.

بَلْ كَشَفَ ٱلْغُمَّةَ

bal kashafa alghummata

Rather, he relieved all agonies,

وَسَدَّ ٱلْفُرْجَةَ

wa sadda alfurjata

sealed the loopholes,

وَادَّىٰ ٱلْمُفْتَرَضَ

wa adda almuftarada

and fulfilled the required.

اَللَّهُمَّ فَكَمَا اقْرَرْتَ نَاظِرَ نَبِيِّكَ بِهِ

allahumma fakama aqrarta nazira nabiyyika bihi

O Allah, just as You made him a source of delight for Your Prophet,

فَرَقِّهِ دَرَجَتَهُ

faraqqihi darajatahu

so also (please) raise him to the most elevated position,

وَاجْزِلْ لَدَيْكَ مَثُوبَتَهُ

wa ajzil ladayka mathubatahu

give him the most fitting reward that suits him,

وَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِ

wa Ľalli Alayhi

bless him,

وَبَلِّغْهُ مِنَّا تَحِيَّةً وَسَلاَماً

wa ballighhu minna tahiyyatan wa salaman

convey our greetings and salutations to him,

وَآتِنَا مِنْ لَدُنْكَ فِي مُوَالاَتِهِ فَضْلاًَ وَإِِحْسَاناً

wa atina min ladunka fi muwalatihi fadlan wa ihsanan

and give us, on account of our love for him, from You bounties, favors,

وَمَغْفِرَةً وَرِضْوَاناً

wa maghfiratan wa ridwanan

amnesty, and approval.

إِِنَّكَ ذُو ٱلْفَضْلِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ

innaka dhu alfadli alAzimi

Verily, You are the Lord of superabundant favors.

يَا ذَا ٱلْقُدْرَةِ ٱلْجَامِعَةِ

ya dha alqudrati aljamiAti

O Lord of omnipotent power!

وَٱلرَّحْمَةِ ٱلْوَاسِعَةِ

walrrahmati alwasiAti

O Lord of all-inclusive mercy!

وَٱلْمِنَنِ ٱلْمُتَتَابِعَةِ

walminani almutatabiAti

O Lord of successive favors!

وَٱلآلاَءِ ٱلْمُتَوَاتِرَةِ

wal-ala'i almutawatirati

O Lord of uninterrupted bounties!

وَٱلايَادِي ٱلْجَلِيلَةِ

wal-ayadi aljalilati

O Lord of magnificent bestowals!

وَٱلْمَوَاهِبِ ٱلْجَزِيلَةِ

walmawahibi aljazilati

O Lord of abundant conferrals!

صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ ٱلصَّادِقِينَ

Ľalli Ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin alĽĽadiqina

(Please do) send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad the veracious ones,

وَاعْطِنِي سُؤْلِي

wa a`tini su'li

grant me that which I ask from You,

وَٱجْمَعْ شَمْلِي

wajma` shamli

re-unify me (with my family),

وَلُمَّ شَعْثِي

wa lumma shaAthi

unite me (with my family),

وَزَكِّ عَمَلِي

wa zakki Amali

purify my deeds,

وَلاَ تُزِغْ قَلْبِي بَعْدَ إِِذْ هَدَيْتَنِي

wa la tuzigh qalbi ba`da idh hadaytani

cause not my heart to stray after You have guided me,

وَلاَ تُزِلَّ قَدَمِي

wa la tuzilla qadami

cause not my footstep to slip,

وَلاَ تَكِلْنِي إِلَىٰ نَفْسِي طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ ابَداً

wa la takilni ila nafsi tarfata Aynin abadan

never refer me to myself even for a time as short as a wink of an eye,

وَلاَ تُخَيِّبْ طَمَعِي

wa la tukhayyib tama`i

disappoint not my desire,

وَلاَ تُبْدِ عَوْرَتِي

wa la tubdi Awrati

expose not my private parts,

وَلاَ تَهْتِكْ سِتْرِي

wa la tahtik sitri

disclose not my covering,

وَلاَ تُوحِشْنِي وَلاَ تُؤْيِسْنِي

wa la tuhishni

cause me not to feel lonely, despair me not,

وَكُنْ بِي رَؤُوفاً رَحِيماً

wa la tu'yisni

be to me kind and merciful,

وَٱهْدِنِي وَزَكِّنِي

wa kun bi ra'ufan rahiman

guide me (to the right path), make me grow,

وَطَهِّرْنِي وَصَفِّنِي

wahdini wa zakkini

purify me, cleanse me,

وَٱصْطَفِنِي وَخَلِّصْنِي وَٱسْتَخْلِصْنِي

wa tahhirni wa Ľaffini

dedicate me to You, select me, render me suitable,

وَٱصْنَعْنِي وَٱصْطَنِعْنِي

waĽtafini wa khalliĽni wastakhliĽni

arrange me for You alone, attach me to Yourself,

وَقَرِّبْنِي إِِلَيْكَ وَلاَ تُبَاعِدْنِي مِنْكَ

waĽna`ni waĽtani`ni

draw me near You, take me not far away from You,

وَٱلْطُفْ بِي وَلاَ تَجْفُنِي

wa qarribni ilayka wa la tuba`idni minka

be kind to me, do not turn away from me,

وَاكْرِمْنِي وَلاَ تُهِنِّي

waltuf bi wa la tajfuni

honor me, do not humiliate me,

وَمَا اسْالُكَ فَلاَ تَحْرِمْنِي

wa akrimni wa la tuhinni

do not deprive me of all that which I ask from You,

وَمَا لاََ اسْالُكَ فَٱجْمَعْهُ لِي

wa ma as'aluka fala tahrimni

and give me altogether all that which I have not asked from You.

بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا ارْحَمَ ٱلرَّاحِمِينَ

wa ma las'aluka fajma`hu li

(Please do all that) in the name of Your mercy, O most merciful of all those who show mercy.

وَاسْالُكَ بِحُرْمَةِ وَجْهِكَ ٱلْكَرِيمِ

birahmatika ya arhama alrrahimina

I also beseech You in the name of the sacredness of Your Honorable Face,

وَبِحُرْمَةِ نَبِيِّكَ مُحَمَّدٍ

wa as'aluka bihurmati wajhika alkarimi

the sanctity of Your Prophet Muhammad,

صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ

wa bihurmati nabiyyika muhammadin

may Your blessings be upon him and upon his Household,

وَبِحُرْمَةِ اهْلِ بَيْتِ رَسُولِكَ

Ľalawatuka Alayhi wa alihi

and the sanctity of Your Prophets Household;

امِيرِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَلِيٍّ

wa bihurmati ahli bayti rasulika

namely, Ali the Commander of the Faithful,

وَٱلْحَسَنِ وَٱلْحُسَيْنِ

amiri almu'minina Aliyyin

al-Hasan, al-Husayn,

وَعَلِيٍّ وَمُحَمَّدٍ

walhasani walhusayni

Ali, Muhammad,

وَجَعْفَرٍ ومُوسَىٰ

wa Aliyyin wa muhammadin

Ja`far, Musa,

وَعَلَيٍّ وَمُحَمَّدٍ

wa ja`farin wa musa

Ali, Muhammad,

وَعَلِيٍّ وَٱلْحَسَنِ

wa Aliyyin wa muhammadin

Ali, al-Hasan,

وَٱلْخَلَفِ ٱلْبَاقِي

wa Aliyyin walhasani

and the Remaining Successor;

صَلَوَاتُكَ وَبَرَكَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِمِ

walkhalafi albaqi

may Your benedictions and blessings be upon them all,

انْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَيْهِمْ اجْمَعِينَ

Ľalawatuka wa barakatuka Alayhim

(I beseech You in their names) to send blessings upon all of them,

وَتُعَجِّلَ فَرَجَ قَائِمِهِمْ بِامْرِكَ

an tuĽalliya Alayhim ajma`ina

hasten the Relief of their Rising Imam by Your permission,

وَتَنْصُرَهُ وَتَنْتَصِرَ بِهِ لِدِينِكَ

wa tuAjjila faraja qa'imihim bi'amrika

support him, betake him as the means of victory of Your religion,

وَتَجْعَلَنِي فِي جُمْلَةِ ٱلنَّاجِينَ بِهِ

wa tanĽurahu wa tantaĽira bihi lidinika

and include me with those who shall be redeemed through him

وَٱلْمُخْلِصِينَ فِي طَاعَتِهِ

wa tajAlani fi jumlati alnnajina bihi

and those who act sincerely in obedience to him.

وَاسْالُكَ بِحَقِّهِمْ

walmukhliĽina fi taAtihi

I also beseech You in the name of their right

لَمَّا ٱسْتَجَبْتَ لِي دَعْوَتِي

wa as'aluka bihaqqihim

to respond to my prayer,

وَقَضَيْتَ لِي حَاجَتِي

lamma istajabta li da`wati

grant me my needs,

وَاعْطَيْتَنِي سُؤْلِي

wa qadayta li hajati

answer my requests,

وَكَفَيْتَنِي مَا اهَمَّنِي

wa a`taytani su'li

and save me from whatever aggrieves me

مِنْ امْرِ دُنْيَايَ وَآخِرَتِي

wa kafaytani ma ahammani

from the affairs of this world as well as the world to come.

يَا ارْحَمَ ٱلرَّاحِمِينَ

min amri dunyaya wa akhirati

O most merciful of all those who show mercy!

يَا نُورُ يَا بُرْهَانُ

ya arhama alrrahimina

O Light! O Evident!

يَا مُنِيرُ يَا مُبِينُ

ya nuru ya burhanu

O Granter of light! O Granter of evidence!

يَا رَبِّ ٱكْفِنِي شَرَّ ٱلشُّرُورِ

ya muniru ya mubinu

O Lord! (Please do) save me from all evils

وَآفَاتِ ٱلدُّهُورِ

ya rabbi ikfini sharra alshshururi

and from vicissitudes of time.

وَاسْالُكَ ٱلنَّجَاةَ

wa afati aldduhuri

I also beseech You for redemption

يَوْمَ يُنْفَخُ فِي ٱلصُّورِ

wa as'aluka alnnajata

on the Day when the Trumpet is blown.

يَا عُدَّتِي عِنْدَ ٱلْعُدَدِ

ya `uddati `inda al`udadi

O my means when I lack means!

وَيَا رَجَائِي وَٱلْمُعْتَمَدَ

wa ya raja'i walmu`tamadu

O my hope and my trust!

وَيَا كَهْفِي وَٱلسَّنَدَ

wa ya kahfi walssanadu

O my haven and my support!

يَا وَاحِدُ يَا احَدُ

ya wahidu ya ahadu

O One! O One and Only!

وَيَا قُلْ هُوَ ٱللَّهُ احَدٌ

wa ya qul huwa allahu ahadun

O (described in) "Say: He is Allah, the One."

اسْالُكَ ٱللَّهُمَّ بِحَقِّ مَنْ خَلَقْتَ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ

as'aluka allahumma bihaqqi man khalaqta min khalqika

I beseech You in the name of those whom You created from among Your creations

وَلَمْ تَجْعَلْ فِي خَلْقِكَ مِثْلَهُمْ احَداً

wa lam tajAl fi khalqika mithlahum ahadan

but You have not made anyone to be like them at all,

صَلِّ عَلَىٰ جَمَاعَتِهِمْ

Ľalli Ala jamaAtihim...

(please do) send blessings upon them all...

اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ

allahumma Ľalli Ala Aliyyi bni muhammadin

O Allah, (please) send blessings upon Ali the son of Muhammad,

وَصِيِّ ٱلاوْصِيَاءِ

waĽiyyi al-awĽiya'i

the successor of the Successors,

وَإِِمَامِ ٱلاتْقِيَاءِ

wa imami al-atqiya'i

the leader of the pious,

وَخَلَفِ ائِمَّةِ ٱلدِّينِ

wa khalafi a'immati alddini

the descendant of the leaders of the religion,

وَٱلْحُجَّةِ عَلَىٰ ٱلْخَلاَئِقِ اجْمَعِينَ

walhujjati Ala alkhala'iqi ajma`ina

and the argument against all of the creatures.

اَللَّهُمَّ كَمَا جَعَلْتَهُ نُوراً يَسْتَضِيءُ بِهِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ

allahumma kama jaAltahu nuran yastadi'u bihi almu'minuna

O Allah, as You have made him the source of light from which the believers derive light,

فَبَشَّرَ بِٱلْجَزِيلِ مِنْ ثَوَابِكَ

fabashshara biljazili min thawabika

and so he conveyed the good tidings of Your abundant reward,

وَانْذَرَ بِٱلالِيمِ مِنْ عِقَابِكَ

wa andhara bil-alimi min `iqabika

warned against Your painful punishment,

وَحَذَّرَ بَاسَكَ

wa hadhdhara ba'saka

notified against Your prowess,

وَذَكَّرَ بِآيَاتِكَ

wa dhakkara bi'ayatika

reminded of Your sings,

وَاحَلَّ حَلاَلَكَ

wa ahalla halalaka

rendered legal that which You have deemed legal,

وَحَرَّمَ حَرَامَكَ

wa harrama haramaka

rendered illegal that which You have deemed illegal,

وَبَيَّنَ شَرَائِعَكَ وَفَرَائِضَكَ

wa bayyana shara'iAka wa fara'idaka

explained Your laws and the duties towards You,

وَحَضَّ عَلَىٰ عِبَادَتِكَ

wa hadda Ala `ibadatika

encouraged on servitude to You,

وَامَرَ بِطَاعَتِكَ

wa amara bitaAtika

enjoined obedience to You,

وَنَهَىٰ عَنْ مَعْصِيَتِكَ

wa naha An ma`Ľiyatika

and forbade disobedience to You,

فَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِ

faĽalli Alayhi

so also (please) bless him

افْضَلَ مَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَىٰ احَدٍ

afdala ma Ľallayta Ala ahadin

with the most favorite blessings that You have ever bestowed

مِنْ اوْلِيَائِكَ وَذُرِّيَّةِ انْبِيَائِكَ

min awliya'ika wa dhurriyyati anbiya'ika

upon any of Your intimate servants and descendants of Your Prophets.

يَا إِِلٰهَ ٱلْعَالَمِينَ

ya ilaha alAlamina

O God of the Worlds!
