Ziyarat of Imam Hassan Askari (as)

1

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مَوْلاَيَ

Peace be upon you, O my Master

2

يَا ابَا مُحَمَّدٍ ٱلْحَسَنُ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ

Abu-Muhammad al-Hasan the son of `Ali,

3

ٱلْهَادِيَ ٱلْمُهْتَدِي

the guide and well-guided.

4

وَرَحْمَةُ ٱللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ

Allah’s mercy and blessings be upon you.

5

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَلِيَّ ٱللَّهِ وَٱبْنَ اوْلِيَائِهِ

Peace be upon you, O Allah’s intimate servant and son of Allah’s intimate servants.

6

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا حُجَّةَ ٱللَّهِ وَٱبْنَ حُجَجِهِ

Peace be upon you, O Allah’s decisive Argument and son of Allah’s decisive Arguments.

7

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا صَفِيَّ ٱللَّهِ وَٱبْنَ اصْفِيَائِهِ

Peace be upon you, O Allah’s elite and son of Allah’s elite ones.

8

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا خَلِيفَةَ ٱللَّهِ وَٱبْنَ خُلَفَائِهِ وَابَا خَلِيفَتِهِ

Peace be upon you, O Allah’s representative, son of Allah’s representatives, and father of His representative.

9

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بْنَ خَاتَمِ ٱلنَّبِيِّينَ

Peace be upon you, O son of the Seal of the Prophets.

10

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بْنَ سَيِّدِ ٱلْوَصِيِّينَ

Peace be upon you, O son of the chief of the Prophets’ successors.

11

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بْنَ امِيرِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

Peace be upon you, O son of the Commander of the Faithful.

12

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بْنَ سَيِّدَةِ نِسَاءِ ٱلْعَالَمِينَ

Peace be upon you, O son of the doyenne of all women of the world.

13

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بْنَ ٱلائِمَّةِ ٱلْهَادِينَ

Peace be upon you, O son of the guiding leaders.

14

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بْنَ ٱلاوْصِيَاءِ ٱلرَّاشِدِينَ

Peace be upon you, O son of the orthodox successors (of the Prophets.)

15

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا عِصْمَةَ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ

Peace be upon you, O shelter of the pious ones.

16

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا إِِمَامَ ٱلْفَائِزِينَ

Peace be upon you, O leader of the winning party.

17

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا رُكْنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

Peace be upon you, O haven of the (true) believers.

18

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا فَرَجَ ٱلْمَلْهُوفِينَ

Peace be upon you, O relief of the aggrieved ones.

19

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ ٱلانْبِيَاءِ ٱلْمُنْتَجَبِينَ

Peace be upon you, O heir of the Prophets: the choice ones.

20

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا خَازِنَ عِلْمِ وَصِيِّ رَسُولِ ٱللَّهِ

Peace be upon you, O keeper of the knowledge of the successor of Allah’s Messenger.

21

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ ايُّهَا ٱلدَّاعِي بِحُكْمِ ٱللَّهِ

Peace be upon you, O he who invites to the judgment of Allah.

22

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ ايُّهَا ٱلنَّاطِقُ بِكِتَابِ ٱللَّهِ

Peace be upon you, O he who speaks with the Book of Allah.

23

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا حُجَّةَ ٱلْحُجَجِ

Peace be upon you, O prime Argument of all the arguments (of Allah.)

24

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا هَادِيَ ٱلامَمِ

Peace be upon you, O guide of all nations.

25

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَلِيَّ ٱلنِّعَمِ

Peace be upon you, O source of all bounties.

26

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا عَيْبَةَ ٱلْعِلْمِ

Peace be upon you, O store of knowledge.

27

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا سَفِينَةَ ٱلْحِلْمِ

Peace be upon you, O ark of forbearance.

28

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابَا ٱلإِمَامِ ٱلْمُنْتَظَرِ

Peace be upon you, O father of the Awaited Imam:

29

ٱلظَّاهِرَةِ لِلْعَاقِلِ حُجَّتُهُ

whose claim is evident for the rational people,

30

وَٱلثَّابِتَةِ فِي ٱلْيَقِينِ مَعْرِفَتُهُ

whose recognition is fixed in the most certain things,

31

ٱلْمُحْتَجَبِ عَنْ اعْيُنِٱلظَّالِمِينَ

whom is concealed against the eyes of the oppressors,

32

وَٱلْمُغَيَّبِ عَنْ دَوْلَةِ ٱلْفَاسِقِينَ

whom is hidden from the regimes of the faithless authorities,

33

وَٱلْمُعيدِ رَبُّنَا بِهِ ٱلإِسْلاَمَ جَدِيداً بَعْدَ ٱلإِنْطِمَاسِ

and through whom our Lord shall recover Islam over again after it will be effaced

34

وَٱلْقُرْآنَ غَضّاً بَعْدَ ٱلإِنْدِرَاسِ

and He shall recover the Qur'an fresh over again after it will be eradicated.

35

اشْهَدُ يَامَوْلاَيَ انَّكَ اقَمْتَ ٱلصَّلاَةَ

O master, I bear witness that you performed the prayers,

36

وَآتَيْتَ ٱلزَّكَاةَ

defrayed the poor-rate,

37

وَامَرْتَ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ

enjoined the right,

38

وَنَهَيْتَ عَنِ ٱلْمُنْكَرِ

forbade the wrong,

39

وَدَعَوْتَ إِلَىٰ سَبِيلِ رَبِّكَ

called to the way of your Lord

40

بِٱلْحِكْمَةِ وَٱلْمَوْعِظَةِ ٱلْحَسَنَةِ

with wisdom and goodly exhortation,

41

وَعَبَدْتَ ٱللَّهَ مُخْلِصاً

and worshipped Allah sincerely

42

حَتَّىٰ اتَاكَ ٱلْيَقِينُ

until death came upon you.

43

اسْالُ ٱللَّهَ بِٱلشَّانِ ٱلَّذِي لَكُمْ عِنْدَهُ

I thus beseech Allah in the name of the rank that you enjoy with Him

44

انْ يَتَقَبَّلَ زِيَارَتِي لَكُمْ

to accept my visit to you,

45

وَيَشْكُرَ سَعْيِي إِِلَيْكُمْ

receive my efforts with gratitude,

46

وَيَسْتَجِيبَ دُعَائِي بِكُمْ

respond to my prayers through you,

47

وَيَجْعَلَنِي مِنْ انْصَارِ الْحَقِّ

and include me with the supporters of the truth,

48

وَاتْبَاعِهِ وَاشْيَاعِهِ

its followers, its adherents,

49

وَمَوَالِيهِ وَمُحِبِّيهِ

its devotees, and its lovers.

50

وَٱلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ وَرَحْمَةُ ٱللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ

Peace and Allah’s mercy and blessings be upon you.

51

اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَاهْلِ بَيْتِهِ

O Allah, (please do) send blessings upon our master Muhammad and his Household

52

وَصَلِّ عَلَىٰ ٱلْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ

and send blessings upon al-Hasan the son of `Ali

53

ٱلْهَادِي إِلَىٰ دِينِكَ

who guides to Your religion

54

وَٱلدَّاعِي إِلَىٰ سَبِيلِكَ

and calls to Your way,

55

عَلَمِ ٱلْهُدَىٰ

who is the sign of true guidance,

56

وَمَنَارِ ٱلتُّقَىٰ

the lantern of true piety,

57

وَمَعْدِنِ ٱلْحِجَىٰ

the essence of rationality,

58

وَمَاوَىٰ ٱلنُّهَىٰ

the resource of reason,

59

وَغَيْثِ ٱلْوَرَىٰ

the raining cloud over mankind,

60

وَسَحَابِ ٱلْحِكْمَةِ

the cloud of wisdom,

61

وَبَحْرِ ٱلْمَوْعِظَةِ

the ocean of admonition,

62

وَوَارِثِ ٱلائِمَّةِ

the heir of the Imams,

63

وَٱلشَّهِيدِ عَلَىٰ ٱلامَّةِ

the witness over the (Muslim) community,

64

ٱلْمَعْصُومِ ٱلْمُهَذَّبِ

the sinless, the well-mannered,

65

وَٱلْفَاضِلِ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِ

the virtuous, the favorable (by Allah),

66

وَٱلْمُطَهَّرِ مِنَ ٱلرِّجْسِ

the purified against filth,

67

ٱلَّذِي وَرَّثْتَهُ عِلْمَ ٱلْكِتَابِ

and the one whom You have given the knowledge of the (Holy) Book in inheritance,

68

وَالْهَمْتَهُ فَصْلَ ٱلْخِطَابِ

You have inspired with clear judgment,

69

وَنَصَبْتَهُ عَلَماً لإَِِهْلِ قِبْلَتِكَ

You have appointed as the leading sign for those who follow the direction You have decided,

70

وَقَرَنْتَ طَاعَتَهُ بِطَاعَتِكَ

You have decided the obedience to him to be attached to the obedience to You,

71

وَفَرَضْتَ مَوَدَّتَهُ عَلَىٰ جَمِيعِ خَليقَتِكَ

and You have imposed the love for him upon all Your creatures.

72

اَللَّهُمَّ فَكَمَا انَابَ بِحُسْنِ ٱلإِخْلاَصِ فِي تَوْحِيدِكَ

O Allah, as he always turned to You with excellent sincerity in Your Oneness,

73

وَارْدَىٰ مَنْ خَاضَ فِي تَشْبِيهِكَ

argued and defeated those who anthropomorphized You,

74

وَحَامَىٰ عَنْ اهْلِ ٱلإِيـمَانِ بِكَ

and defended those who faithfully believed in You;

75

فَصَلِّ يَا رَبِّ عَلَيْهِ صَلاَةً

so, O my Lord, (please) pour down on him Your blessings

76

يَلْحَقُ بِهَا مَحَلَّ ٱلْخَاشِعِينَ

due to which he joins the rank of those who behave humbly toward You

77

وَيَعْلُو فِي ٱلْجَنَّةِ

and due to which he surmounts in Paradise

78

بِدَرَجَةِ جَدِّهِ خَاتَمِ ٱلنَّبِيِّينَ

to the rank of his forefather the Seal of the Prophets.

79

وَبَلِّغْهُ مِنَّا تَحِيَّةً وَسَلاَماً

And (please do) convey to him greetings and compliments from us,

80

وَآتِنَا مِنْ لَدُنْكَ فِي مُوَالاَتِهِ

grant us from You, on account of our loyalty to him,

81

فَضْلاًَ وَإِِحْسَاناً

favor and benevolence

82

وَمَغْفِرَةً وَرِضْوَاناً

and also grant us forgiveness and gratification,

83

إِِنَّكَ ذُو فَضْلٍ عَظِيمٍ

for You are most certainly the Lord of enormous favor

84

وَمَنٍّ جَسِيمٍ

and huge bliss.

85

يَا دَائِمُ يَا دَيْمُومُ

O All-eternal Lord! O All-everlasting!

86

يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّومُ

O Ever-living! O All-subsisting!

87

يَا كَاشِفَ ٱلْكَرْبِ وَٱلْهَمِّ

O Reliever of agonies and grief!

88

وَيَا فَارِجَ ٱلْغَمِّ

O Soother of anguishes!

89

وَيَا بَاعِثَ ٱلرُّسُلِ

O Appointer of Messengers!

90

وَيَا صَادِقَ ٱلْوَعْدِ

O Truthful to what You promise!

91

وَيَا حَيُّ لاََ إِِلٰهَ إِِلاَّ انْتَ

O Ever-living! there is no deity save You.

92

اتَوَسَّلُ إِِلَيْكَ بِحَبِيبِكَ مُحَمَّدٍ

I beg You in the name of Your dear one Muhammad

93

وَوَصِيِّهِ عَلِيٍّ ٱبْنِ عَمِّهِ

and in the name of his successor `Ali his cousin

94

وَصِهْرِهِ عَلَىٰ ٱبْنَتِهِ

and the husband of his daughter,

95

ٱللَّذَيْنِ خَتَمْتَ بِهِمَا ٱلشَّرَايِعَ

through both of whom You have sealed Your laws

96

وَفَتَحْتَ بِهِمَا ٱلتَّاويلَ وَٱلطَّلاَيِعَ

and opened the interpretation and Your pioneering ordains.

97

فَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِمَا

So, (please do) send upon both of them blessings

98

صَلاَةً يَشْهَدُ بِهَا ٱلاوَّلُونَ وَٱلآخِرُونَ

that are witnessed by the ancient and the coming generations

99

وَيَنْجُو بِهَا ٱلاوْلِيَاءُ وَٱلصَّالِحُونَ

and by which the intimate servants and the righteous ones are saved.

100

وَاتَوَسَّلُ إِِلَيْكَ بِفَاطِمَةَ ٱلزَّهْرَاءِ

I also beg You in the name of Fatimah the Luminous,

101

وَالِدَةِ ٱلائِمَّةِ ٱلْمَهْدِيِّينَ

the mother of the well-guided Imams,

102

وَسَيِّدَةِ نِسَاءِ ٱلْعَالَمِينَ

and the Doyenne of the women of the worlds,

103

ٱلْمُشَفَّعَةِ فِي شِيعَةِاوْلاَدِهَا ٱلطَّيِّبِينَ

who shall be allowed to intercede for the adherents of her immaculate descendants.

104

فَصَلِّ عَلَيْهَا صَلاَةً دَائِمَةً

So, (please do) send upon her blessings that are as endless

105

ابَدَ ٱلآبِدِينَ وَدَهْرَ ٱلدَّاهِرِينَ

as ages and as endless as times.

106

وَاتَوَسَّلُ إِِلَيْكَ بِٱلْحَسَنِ ٱلرَّضِيِّ

I also beg You in the name of al-Hasanthe pleased,

107

ٱلطَّاهِرِ ٱلزَّكِيِّ

the infallible, and the pure,

108

وَٱلْحُسَيْنِ ٱلْمَظْلُومِ

and in the name of al-Husayn the oppressed,

109

ٱلْمَرْضِيِّ ٱلْبَرِّ ٱلتَّقِيِّ

the pleased, the pious, and the righteous;

110

سَيِّدَيْ شَبَابِ اهْلِ ٱلْجَنَّةِ

(they both are) the masters of the youth of Paradise,

111

ٱلإِمَامَيْنِ ٱلْخَيِّرَيْنِ

the two Imams who are virtuous,

112

ٱلطَّيِّبَيْنِ ٱلتَّقِيَّيْنِ

infallible, pious,

113

ٱلنَّقِيَّيْنِ ٱلطَّاهِرَيْنِ

pure, immaculate,

114

ٱلشَّهِيدَيْنِ ٱلْمَظْلُومَيْنِ ٱلْمَقْتُولَيْنِ

martyred, oppressed, and slain.

115

فَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِمَا مَا طَلَعَتْ شَمْسٌ وَمَا غَرَبَتْ

So, (please do) send upon them blessings whenever the sun rises and sets;

116

صَلاَةً مُتَوَالِيَةً مُتَتَالِيَةً

blessings that are consecutive and successive.

117

وَاتَوَسَّلُ إِِلَيْكَ بِعَلِيِّ بْنِ ٱلْحُسَيْنِ

I also beg You in the name of `Ali the son of al-Husayn

118

سَيِّدِ ٱلْعَابِدِينَ

the chief of the worshippers

119

ٱلْمَحْجُوبِ مِنْ خَوْفِ ٱلظَّالِمِينَ

and the concealed for fear of the oppressors,

120

وَبِمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ

and in the name of Muhammad the son of `Ali,

121

ٱلْبَاقِرِ ٱلطَّاهِرِ

the splitter of knowledge, the pure,

122

ٱلنُّورِ ٱلزَّاهِرِ

the glowing light.

123

ٱلإِمَامَيْنِ ٱلسَّيِّدَيْنِ

(They both are) the two Imams and masters,

124

مِفْتَاحَيِ ٱلْبَرَكَاتِ

the keys to blessings,

125

وَمِصْبَاحَيِ ٱلظُّلُمُاتِ

and the lanterns in the murk.

126

فَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِمَا مَا سَرَىٰ لَيْلٌ وَمَا اضَاءَ نَهَارٌ

So, (please) send blessings upon them whenever night comes and whenever daylight rises;

127

صَلاَةً تَغْدُو وَتَرُوحُ

such blessings that are ceaseless.

128

وَاتَوَسَّلُ إِِلَيْكَ بِجَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ

I also beg You in the name of Ja`far the son of Muhammad,

129

ٱلصَّادِقِ عَنِ ٱللَّهِ

the truthful in what he conveys from Allah

130

وَٱلنَّاطِقِ فِي عِلْمِ ٱللَّهِ

and the spokesman of Allah’s knowledge

131

وَبِمُوسَىٰ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ

and in the name of Musa the son of Ja`far,

132

ٱلْعَبْدِ ٱلصَّالِحِ فِي نَفْسِهِ

the self-righteous servant (of Allah)

133

وَٱلَوصِيِّ ٱلنَّاصِحِ

and the well-whishing successor (of the Prophet);

134

ٱلإِمَامَيْنِ ٱلْهَادِيَيْنِ ٱلْمَهْدِيَّيْنِ

(they both are) the two guiding and well-guided Imams

135

ٱلْوَافِيَيْنِ ٱلْكَافِيَيْنِ

and the two adequate and saving Imams.

136

فَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِمَا مَا سَبَّحَ لَكَ مَلَكٌ

So, (please) send upon them blessings whenever an angel glorifies You

137

وَتَحَرَّكَ لَكَ فَلَكٌ

and whenever a planet moves;

138

صَلاَةً تُنْمَىٰ وَتَزِيدُ

such blessings that are increasable and growing

139

وَلاَ تَفْنَىٰ وَلاَ تَبِيدُ

and neither ending nor stopping.

140

وَاتَوَسَّلُ إِِلَيْكَ بِعَلِيِّ بْنِ مُوسَىٰ ٱلرِّضَا

I also beg You in the name of `Ali the son of Musa the well-pleased

141

وَبِمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ٱلْمُرْتَضَىٰ

and in the name of Muhammad the son of `Ali the well-contented;

142

ٱلإِمَامَيْنِ ٱلْمُطَهَّرَيْنِ ٱلْمُنْتَجَبَيْنِ

the two purified and divinely selected Imams.

143

فَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِمَا مَا اضَاءَ صُبْحٌ وَدَامَ

So, (please) send upon them blessings whenever morning glows and endures

144

صَلاَةً تُرَقِّيهِمَا إِلَىٰ رِضْوَانِكَ

with such blessings that take them up to the rank of Your pleasure

145

فِي ٱلْعِلِّيِّينَ مِنْ جِنَانِكَ

in the highest level of the gardens of Your Paradise.

146

وَاتَوَسَّلُ إِِلَيْكَ بِعَليِّ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ٱلرَّاشِدِ

I also beg You in the name of `Ali the son of Muhammad the rightly-directing

147

وَٱلْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ٱلْهَادِي

and in the name of al-Hasan the son of `Ali the guide;

148

ٱلْقَائِمَيْنِ بِامْرِ عِبَادِكَ

the two Imams who supervise the affairs of Your servants,

149

ٱلْمُخْتَبَرَيْنِ بِٱلِْمحَنِ ٱلْهَائِلَةِ

whom are tested by unbearable ordeals,

150

وَٱلصَّابِرَيْنِ فِي ٱلإِحَنِ ٱلْمَائِلَةِ

and who acted patiently against the swerving enmities.

151

فَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِمَا كِفَاءَ اجْرِ ٱلصَّابِرينَ

So, (please do) send upon them blessings that are suitable to the reward of the enduring people

152

وَإِِزَاءَ ثَوَابِ ٱلْفَائِزِينَ

and worth being the prize of the winners;

153

صَلاَةً تُمَهِّدُ لَهُمَا ٱلرِّفْعَةَ

such blessings that pave for them the way to exaltation.

154

وَاتَوَسَّلُ إِِلَيْكَ يَا رَبِّ بِإِِمَامِنَا

I also beg You, O Lord, in the name of our Imam

155

وَمُحَقِّقِ زَمَانِنَا

the rising in our ages,

156

ٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْمَوْعُودِ

the promised day,

157

وَٱلشَّاهِدِ ٱلْمَشْهُودِ

the witnessed observer,

158

وَٱلنُّورِ ٱلازْهَرِ

the luminous light,

159

وَٱلْضِّيَاءِ ٱلانْوَرِ

the bright illumination,

160

ٱلْمَنْصُورِ بِٱلْرُّعْبِ

the supported by means of horror,

161

وَٱلْمُظَفَّرِ بِٱلسَّعَادَةِ

and the triumphant with happiness.

162

فَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِ عَدَدَ ٱلثَّمَرِ

So, (please) send upon him blessings that are as many as the numbers of fruits,

163

وَاوْرَاقِ ٱلشَّجَرِ

the leaves of trees,

164

وَاجْزَاءِ ٱلْمَدَرِ

the townspeople,

165

وَعَدَدَ ٱلشَّعْرِ وَٱلْوَبَرِ

the hairs of people and animals,

166

وَعَدَدَ مَا احَاطَ بِهِ عِلْمُكَ

and all things that Your knowledge encompasses

167

وَاحْصَاهُ كِتَابُكَ

and You Book counts;

168

صَلاَةً يَغْبِطُهُ بَهَا ٱلاوَّلُونَ وَٱلآخِروُنَ

such blessings due to which all the ancient and the last generations wish to have their like.

169

اَللَّهُمَّ وَٱحْشُرْنَا فِي زُمْرَتِهِ

O Allah, (please do) include us with his group,

170

وَٱحْفَظْنَا عَلَىٰ طَاعَتِهِ

make us keep on obeying him,

171

وَٱحْرُسْنَا بِدَوْلَتِهِ

guard us through his state,

172

وَاتْحِفْنَا بِوِلاَيَتِهِ

confer upon us with the loyalty to him,

173

وَٱنْصُرْنَا عَلَىٰ اعْدَائِنَا بِعِزَّتِهِ

give us victory over our enemies as a result of his power,

174

وَٱجْعَلْنَا يَارَبِّ مِنَ ٱلتَّوَّابِينَ

and include us, O Lord, with those who turn to You constantly.

175

يَا ارْحَمَ ٱلرَّاحِمِينَ

O most merciful of all those who show mercy!

176

اَللَّهُمَّ وَإِِنَّ إِِبْليسَ ٱلْمُتَمَرِّدَ ٱللَّعِينَ

O Allah, Iblis the rebel and accursed

177

قَدِ ٱسْتَنْظَرَكَ لإِِِغْوَاءِ خَلْقِكَ فَانْظَرْتَهُ

asked You to grant him respite so that he would mislead Your creatures; and You granted him so.

178

وَٱسْتَمْهَلَكَ لإِِِضْلاَلِ عَبِيدِكَ فَامْهَلْتَهُ

He asked You to reprieve him so that he would misguide Your servants, and You reprieved him.

179

بِسَابِقِ عِلْمِكَ فِيهِ

This is because You had already known about him.

180

وَقَدْ عَشَّشَ وَكَثُرَتْ جُنُودُهُ

He thus nested and gave birth to many hosts.

181

وَٱزْدَحَمَتْ جُيُوشُهُ

So, his armies have been overcrowding,

182

وَٱنْتَشَرَتْ دُعَاتُهُ فِي اقْطَارِ ٱلارْضِ

his propagandists have widespread in all the corners of this earth,

183

فَاضَلُّوٱ عِبَادَكَ وَافْسَدُوٱ دِينَكَ

they have mislead Your servants, deformed Your religion,

184

وَحَرَّفُوٱ ٱلْكَلِمَ عَنْ مَوَاضِعِهِ

displaced the words from their right places,

185

وَجَعَلُوٱ عِبَادَكَ شِيَعاً مُتَفَرِّقِينَ

and made Your servants diverse revelries

186

وَاحْزَاباً مُتَمَرِّدِينَ

and rebellious parties.

187

وَقَدْ وَعَدْتَ نَقْضَ بُنْيَانِهِ

You promised that You would demolish his (i.e. Iblis) edifice

188

وَتَمْزِيقَ شَانِهِ

and tear out his matters.

189

فَاهْلِكْ اوْلاَدَهُ وَجُيُوشَهُ

So, (please do) deaden his sons and armies,

190

وَطَهِّرْ بِلاَدَكَ مِنِ ٱخْتِرَاعَاتِهِ وَٱخْتِلاَفَاتِهِ

purify Your lands from his inventions and fabrications,

191

وَارِحْ عِبَادَكَ مِنْ مَذَاهِبِهِ وَقِيَاسَاتِهِ

relieve Your servants from his factions and analogies,

192

وَٱجْعَلْ دَائِرَةَ ٱلسَّوْءِ عَلَيْهِمْ

make the disaster of evil surround them,

193

وَٱبْسُطْ عَدْلَكَ

extend Your justice,

194

وَاظْهِرْ دِينَكَ

give victory to Your religion,

195

وَقَوِّ اوْلِيَاءَكَ

give strength to Your intimate servants,

196

وَاوْهِنْ اعْدَاءَكَ

weaken Your enemies,

197

وَاوْرِثْ دِيَارَ إِِبْليسَ

make Your intimate servants inherit the lands of Iblis

198

وَدِيَارَ اوْلِيَائِهِ اوْلِيَاءَكَ

and these of his fans,

199

وَخَلِّدْهُمْ فِي ٱلْجَحِيمِ

make the fans of Iblis stay forever in the blazing Fire,

200

وَاذِقْهُمْ مِنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلالِيمِ

make them taste the painful torment,

201

وَٱجْعَلْ لَعَائِنَكَ ٱلْمُسْتَوْدَعَةَ

and make the curses of You that are kept

202

فِي مَنَاحِسِ ٱلْخِلْقَةِ

in the evil part of the creation

203

وَمَشَاوِيهِ ٱلْفِطْرَةِ

and in the deformed part of the nature

204

دَائِرَةً عَلَيْهِمْ

surround them forever,

205

وَمُوَكَّلَةً بِهِمْ

control over them,

206

وَجَارِيَةً فِيهِمْ كُلَّ صَبَاحٍ وَمَسَاءٍ

and strike them every morning and evening

207

وَغُدُوٍّ وَرَوَاحٍ

and every moment of coming and going.

208

رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي ٱلدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً

O Our Lord, (please do) grant us goodness in this world

209

وَفِي ٱلآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً

and goodness in the world to come

210

وَقِنَا بِرَحْمَتِكَ عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ

and save us, out of Your mercy, from the torment of Fire.

211

يَا ارْحَمَ ٱلرَّاحِمِينَ

O most merciful of all those who show mercy.
