The Holy Prophet (s) is reported to have advised those who suffer from colic to mix honey with hot water and recite Surah al-Fatihah seven times on the mixture so as to seek Almighty Allah’s protection against the pains. — As to Imam `Ali (`a), he is reported to have directed those who suffer from stomach pains to drink hot water and say the following supplicatory prayer:

    يَا رَبَّ ٱلأَرْبَابِ

    O Lord of all lords!

    يَا إِلٰهَ ٱلآلِهَةِ

    O God of all gods!

  5. 5

    يَا مَلِكَ ٱلْمُلُوكِ

    O King of all kings!

  6. 6

    يَا سَيِّدَ ٱلسَّادَةِ

    O Master of all masters!

  7. 7

    إِشْفِنِي بِشِفَائِكَ مِنْ كُلِّ دَاءٍ وَسُقْمٍ

    (Please) cure me, with Your cure, of all maladies and illnesses,

  8. 8

    فَإِنِّي عَبْدُكَ وَٱبْنُ عَبْدَيْكَ

    for I am Your servant and the son of Your two servants

  9. 9

    أَتَقَلَّبُ فِي قَبْضَتِكَ

    and I turn living under Your control.

    أَعُوذُ بِعِزَّةِ ٱللَّهِ وَجَلاَلِهِ

    بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ
