O Allah, I have resided in Your court
- 2
due to my full acquaintance with Your Oneness, Self-independence, and
- 3
that there is none to settle my need save You.
- 4
I have known, O my Lord,
- 5
that whenever Your graces are poured down on me in hoards,
- 6
my need to You becomes more urgent.
- 7
I have been inflicted by the distress of…
-
You should now mention your problem and then keep on, saying:
About relieving me from this distress, You have full knowledge and You need no direction
- 9
and You are Limitless and You do not have to think about it.
- 10
I therefore beseech You in the name of Your Name that You put on the mountains; so, they were carried away from the roots,
- 11
You put on the heavens; so, they were rent asunder,
- 12
on the stars; so, they were spread,
- 13
and on the earth; so, it was made a vast expanse.
- 14
I also beseech You in the name of the Right that You deposited with Muhammad,
- 15
may Allah bless him and his Household,
- 16
and with `Ali, al-Hasan, al-Husayn,
- 17
`Ali, Muhammad, Ja`far,
- 18
Musa, `Ali, Muhammad,
- 19
`Ali, al-Hasan, and the Argument,
- 20
peace be upon them,
- 21
[I beseech You] t0 send blessings upon Muhammad and his Household,
- 22
settle my need for me,
- 23
make easy what is difficult in it,
- 24
and save me from the intricate part of it.
- 25
If you do, then all praise be to You.
- 26
If you do it not, then all praise be to You,
- 27
because You are neither biased in Your judgment,
- 28
nor accused in Your decree,
- 29
nor prejudicing in Your justice.
-
You may then put your face on the ground and say the following supplication:
O Allah, Jonah the son of Amittai, Your servant,
- 31
prayed to You from the belly of the big fish
- 32
and he is Your servant, and You responded to him;
- 33
and I am Your servant too; so, (please) respond to me.
