  1. 1

And for what You have averted from me of Your trials,

  2. 2

So do not make my share of Your mercy what You hastened for me of well-being,

  3. 3

So that I may end up wretched through what I loved, while others are happy with what I disliked,

  4. 4

And if what I spent my day or night in of this well-being,

  5. 5

Is before a trial that does not cease, and a burden that does not lift,

  6. 6

Then advance for me what You have delayed, and delay from me what You have advanced,

  7. 7

For what ends in perishing is not great, and what ends in lasting is not small,

  8. 8

And send blessings upon Muhammad and his family.

  9. 9

1.O God, to You belongs praise for Your excellent accomplishment

  10. 10

2.and for Your trial which You hast turned away from me!

  11. 11

3.But make not my share of Your mercy the well-being which You hast quickly granted to me,

  12. 12

4.lest I become wretched through what I have loved and someone else gain felicity through what I have disliked!

  13. 13

5.If this well-being in which I pass the day or night

  14. 14

6.should precede a trial that does not cease and a burden that does not pass away,

  15. 15

7.then set before me what You hadst set behind and set behind me what You hadst set before!

  16. 16

8.For that which ends in annihilation is not great

  17. 17

9.and that which ends in subsistence is not little.

  18. 18

10.And bless Muhammad and his Household!
