Aamal In The Seat Of Judgment

يَا مَالِكِي وَ مُمَلِّكِي

O He Who possesses me, He Who endows me with possessions

وَ مُتَغَمِّدِي [مُعْتَمَدِي‏] بِالنِّعَمِ الْجِسَامِ

and He Who encompasses me with enormous bounties

مِنْ غَيْرِ اسْتِحْقَاقٍ

albeit that I do not deserve them.

وَجْهِي خَاضِعٌ لِمَا تَعْلُوهُ الْاَقْدَامُ

My face is humble to what is overtopped by feet

لِجَلالِ وَجْهِكَ الْكَرِيمِ

due to the majesty of Your Noble Face

لا تَجْعَلْ هَذِهِ الشِّدَّةَ وَ لا هَذِهِ الْمِحْنَةَ

(Please) do not make this hardship and this ordeal

مُتَّصِلَةً بِاسْتِيصَالِ الشَّأْفَةِ

to be continual until they lead to the extirpation of the root.

وَ امْنَحْنِي مِنْ فَضْلِكَ

And (please) grant me from Your favor

مَا لَمْ تَمْنَحْ بِهِ اَحَدا مِنْ غَيْرِ مَسْاَلَةٍ

more than that which You have granted to any body who has not asked You to grant him.

اَنْتَ الْقَدِيمُ الْاَوَّلُ

You are verily the Eternal and the First Lord

الَّذِي لَمْ تَزَلْ وَ لا تَزَالُ

Who has neither beginning nor end.

صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

(please) send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad

وَ اغْفِرْ لِي وَ ارْحَمْنِي

forgive me, have mercy on me

وَ زَكِّ عَمَلِي

admit my deeds

وَ بَارِكْ لِي فِي اَجَلِي

bless my lifetime,

وَ اجْعَلْنِي مِنْ عُتَقَائِكَ وَ طُلَقَائِكَ مِنَ النَّارِ

and include me with those whom You release and pardon from Hellfire

بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ.

in the name of Your mercy, O most merciful of all those who show mercy.

اللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّي ذَخَرْتُ تَوْحِيدِي اِيَّاكَ

O Allah, I save (the reward of) my submission to Your Oneness

وَ مَعْرِفَتِي بِكَ

my recognition of You

وَ اِخْلاصِي لَكَ

my sincerity to You

وَ اِقْرَارِي بِرُبُوبِيَّتِكَ

and my bearing witness of Your Godhead,

وَ ذَخَرْتُ وِلايَةَ مَنْ اَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيَّ

and I also save (the reward of) my loyalty to those

بِمَعْرِفَتِهِمْ مِنْ بَرِيَّتِكَ

with the recognition of whom You have bestowed upon me namely

مُحَمَّدٍ وَ عِتْرَتِهِ صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِمْ

Mu¦ammad and his Household, peace of Allah be upon them

لِيَوْمِ فَزَعِي اِلَيْكَ عَاجِلا وَ آجِلا

(I save all that) to the day of my taking refuge with You, whether in this world or the Hereafter

وَقَدْ فَزِعْتُ إِلَيْكَ وَإِلَيْهِمْ يا مَوْلايَ

Thus, I am now taking refuge with You, O my Master, and with them

فِي هذا اليَوْمِ وَفِي مَوْقِفِي هذا

on this day and on this very situation

وَسَأَلْتُكَ ما زكى مِنْ نِعْمَتِكَ

and I thus beg You for Your increasing bounties,

وَإِزاحَةَ ماأَخْشاهُ مِنْ نِقْمَتِكَ

for removing from me Your chastisement that I fear

وَ الْبَرَكَةَ فِيمَا رَزَقْتَنِيهِ

for blessing all the sustenance which You grant me

وَتَحْصِينَ صَدْرِي مِنْ كُلِّ هَمِّ

and for immunizing my heart from receiving any grievous matter

وَجائِحَةٍ وَمَعْصِيَةٍ

any calamity, or any act of disobedience to You

فِي دِينِي وَدُنْيايَ وَآخِرَتِي

regarding my religion, worldly life, and the Next Life.

يا أرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ

O most merciful of all those who show mercy

اللّهُمَّ أَنْتَ السَّلامُ

O Allah, You are the Peace

وَمِنْكَ السَّلامُ

You are the source of peace

وَإِلَيْكَ يَعُودُ السَّلامُ

To You does peace belong.

وَدارُكَ دارُ السَّلامِ

Your abode is the abode of peace

حَيِّنا رَبَّنا مِنْكَ بِالسَّلامِ

So, our Lord, greet us with peace from You.

اللّهُمَّ إِنِّي صَلَّيْتُ هذِهِ الصَّلاةَ

O Allah, I have offered this prayer

ابْتِغاءَ رَحْمَتِكَ وَرِضْوانِكَ وَمَغْفِرَتِكَ

seeking Your mercy, pleasure, forgiveness

وَتَعْظِيما لِمَسْجِدِكَ

and as sign of my esteeming Your mosque

اللّهُمَّ فَصَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

O Allah, (please) send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad

وَارْفَعْها فِي عِلِّيِّينَ

raise my prayer to the most elevated place,

وَتَقَبَّلْها مِنِّي يا أرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ

and accept it from me, O most merciful of all those who show mercy.

بِسْمِ الله وَبِالله

In the Name of Allah (I begin), in Allah (I trust)

وَعَلى مِلَّةِ رَسُولِ الله

and the course of Allah’s Messenger

صلى‌الله‌عليه‌وآله

peace be upon him and his Household, (I follow)

وَلا إِلهَ إِلاّ الله

There is no god but Allah

مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ اللهِ

Mu¦ammad is Allah’s messenger

السَّلامُ عَلى أَبِينا آدَمَ وَاُمِّنا حَوَّاءَ

Peace be upon our father Adam and our mother Eve.

السَّلامُ عَلى هابِيلَ المَقْتُولِ ظُلْما وَعُدْوانا

Peace be upon Abel who was killed wrongly and aggressively,

عَلى مَواهِبِ الله وَرِضْوانِهِ

because he was envied for Allah’s favors and pleasure.

السَّلامُ عَلى شِيثٍ صَفْوَةِ الله

Peace be upon Sheeth, the select of Allah,

الُمْختارِ الاَمِينِ

the chosen and trustee

وَعلى الصَّفْوَةِ الصَّادِقِينَ مِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِهِ الطَّيِّبِينَ

and upon the veracious, select ones from his immaculate progeny,

أَوَّلِهِمْ وَآخِرِهِمْ

from the first to the last

السَّلامُ عَلى إِبْراهِيمَ وَإِسْماعِيلَ

Peace be upon Abraham, Ishmael

وَإِسْحاقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ

Isaac, and Jacob

وَعَلى ذُرِّيَّتِهِمُ المُخْتارِينَ

and upon their chosen descendants.

السَّلامُ عَلى مُوسى كَلِيمِ اللهِ

Peace be upon Moses the spoken by Allah

السَّلامُ عَلى عِيْسى رُوحِ اللهِ

Peace be upon Jesus the spirit of Allah

السَّلامُ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ بْنِ عَبْدِ الله خاتَمِ النَّبِيِّينَ

Peace be upon Mu¦ammad the son of `Abdull¡h, the seal of the Prophets.

السَّلامُ عَلى أَمِيرِ المُؤْمِنِينَ وَذُرِّيَّتِهِ الطَيِّبِينَ

Peace be upon the Commander of the Faithful and upon his immaculate progeny.

وَرَحْمَةُ الله وَبَرَكاتُهُ

Allah’s mercy and blessings be upon them.

السَّلامُ عَلَيْكُمْ فِي الأوَّلِينَ

Peace be upon you among the ancient generations.

السَّلامُ عَلَيْكُمْ فِي الآخِرِينَ

Peace be upon you among the coming generations.

السَّلامُ عَلى فاطِمَةَ الزَّهْراءِ

Peace be upon Fatimah al- Zahra (the Luminous Lady).

السَّلامُ عَلى الأَئِمَّةِ الهادِينَ

Peace be upon the guiding Imams

شُّهداء الله عَلى خَلْقِهِ

the witnesses of Allah upon His created beings.

السَّلامُ عَلى الرَّقِيبِ الشَّاهِدِ عَلى الاُمَمِ للهِ رَبِّ العالَمِينَ

Peace be upon the supervisor the witness on the nations for Allah the Lord of the worlds.

اللّهُمَّ إِنْ كُنْتُ قَدْ عَصَيْتُكَ

O Allah, if I have disobeyed you,

فَإِنِّي قَدْ أَطَعْتُكَ فِي الإيمانِ مِنِّي بِكَ

I have also obeyed you in my belief in You.

مَنّاً مِنْكَ عَلَيَّ لا مَنّاً مِنِّي عَلَيكَ

This is out of Your favoring upon me, not a favor that I do to You.

وَأَطَعْتُكَ فِي أَحَبِّ الاَشْياءِ لَكَ

I have also obeyed You in the things that You most like

لَمْ أَتَّخِذْ لَكَ وَلَداً

I have not claimed that You have child

وَلَمْ أَدْعُ لَكَ شَرِيكاً

and I have not associated any one with You.

وَقَدْ عَصَيْتُكَ فِي أَشْياءَ كَثِيرَةٍ

Yet, I have disobeyed You in many things

عَلى غَيْرِ وَجْهِ المُكابَرَةِ لَكَ

on account of neither defiance

وَلا الخُرُوجِ عَنْ عُبُودِيَّتِكَ

nor mutiny against my servitude to You,

وَلا الجُحُودِ لِرُبُوبِيَّتِكَ

nor denial of Your Godhead;

وَلَكِنِ اتَّبَعْتُ هَوايَ

rather, I only followed my lusts,

وَأَزَلَّنِي الشَّيْطانُ بَعْدَ الحُجَّةِ عَلَيَّ وَالبَيانِ

and Satan caused me to slip although You have had clear argument against me.

فَإِنْ تُعَذِّبْنِي فَبِذُنُوبِي غَيْرَ ظالِمٍ لِي

Thus, if You chastise me, then it is on account of my sins and You are never unjust to me.

وَإِنْ تَعْفُ عَنِّي وَتَرْحَمْنِي

And if You pardon me and have mercy upon me,

فَبِجُودِكَ وَكَرَمِكَ يا كَرِيمُ

then this is out of Your magnanimity and generosity, O All-generous.

اللّهُمَّ إِنَّ ذُنُوبِي لَمْ يَبْقَ لَها إِلاّ رَجاءُ عَفْوِكَ

O Allah, nothing can stand for my sins except my hope in Your pardon,

وَقَدْ قَدَّمْتُ آلَةَ الحِرْمانِ

although I have done things due to which I deserve deprivation of Your pardon.

فَأَنا أَسْأَلُكَ اللّهُمَّ مالا أَسْتَوْجِبُهُ

Therefore, I beseech You, O Allah, for that which I do not deserve

وَأَطْلِبُ مِنْكَ مالاأَسْتَحِقُّهُ

and I seek from You that which I do not merit.

اللّهُمَّ إِنْ تُعَذِّبْنِي فَبِذُنُوبِي وَلَمْ تَظْلِمْنِي شَيْئاً

O Allah, if you chastise me, then this will be on account of my sins and You shall never be unjust to me.

وَإِنْ تَغْفِر لِي فَخَيْرُ راحِمٍ أَنْتَ يا سَيِّدِي

But if You forgive me, then You are already the best of all those who show mercy, O my Master.

اللّهُمَّ أَنْتَ أَنْتَ وَأَنا أَنا

O Allah, You are what You are and I am what I am

أَنْتَ العَوَّادُ بِالمَغْفِرَةِ

You are always returning with forgiveness

وَأَنا العَوَّادُ بِالذُّنُوبِ

and I always return with sinning.

وَأَنْتَ المُتَفَضِّلُ بِالحِلْمِ

You always confer with forbearance

وَأَنا العَوَّادُ بِالجَهْلِ

and I always return with impatience

اللّهُمَّ فَإِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ يا كَنْزَ الضُّعَفاءِ

O Allah, I do beseech You, O treasure of the weak,

يا عَظِيمَ الرَّجاءِ

O He in Whom great hope is put,

يا مُنْقِذَ الغَرْقى

O rescuer of the drowned,

يا مُنْجِيَ الهَلْكى

O savior of those about to perish

يا مُمِيت الاَحْياءِ

O He Who causes the alive to die,

يا مُحْييَ المَوْتى

O He Who causes the dead to live again

أَنْتَ الله لا إِلهَ إِلاّ أَنْتَ

You are Allah; there is no god but You.

أَنْتَ الَّذِي سَجَدَ لَكَ شُعاعُ الشَّمْسِ

It is You before Whom has prostrated the ray of the sun,

وَدَوِيُّ الماءِ

the sound of water

وَحَفِيفُ الشَّجَرِ

the rustling of trees

وَنُورُ القَمَرِ

and the moonlight,

وَظُلْمَةُ اللَيْلِ

the murk of night,

وَضَوُْ النَّهارِ

the light of daytime,

وَخَفَقَانُ الطَّيْرِ

and the flapping of birds.

فَأَسْأَلُكَ اللّهُمَّ يا عَظِيمُ

I thus beseech You, O All-great

بِحَقِّكَ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ الصَّادِقِينَ

in the name of the duty of Muhammad and his veracious Household towards You,

وَبِحَقِّ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ الصَّادِقِينَ عَلَيكَ

in the name of Your duty towards Muhammad and his veracious Household,

وَبِحَقِّكَ عَلى عَلِيٍّ

in the name of the duty of `Ali towards You,

وَبِحَقِّ عَلِيٍّ عَلَيكَ

in the name of Your duty towards `Ali

وَبِحَقِّكَ عَلى فاطِمَةَ

in the name of the duty of Fatimah towards You,

وَبِحَقِّ فاطِمَةَ عَلَيكَ

in the name of Your duty towards Fatimah

وَبِحَقِّكَ عَلى الحَسَنِ

in the name of the duty of al- Hasan towards You

وَبِحَقِّ الحَسَنِ عَلَيكَ

in the name of Your duty towards al-Hasan

وَبِحَقِّكَ عَلى الحُسَيْنِ

in the name of the duty of al- Husayn towards You,

وَبِحِقِّ الحُسَيْنِ عَلَيكَ

and in the name of Your duty towards al-Husayn.

فَإِنَّ حُقُوقَهُمْ عَلَيكَ مِنْ أَفْضَلِ إِنْعامِكَ عَلَيْهِمْ

Verily, Your duty towards them is one of the greatest blessings that You conferred upon them

وَبِالشَّأْنِ الَّذِي لَكَ عِنْدَهُمْ

And (I beseech You) in the name of the position that You enjoy with them

وَبِالشَّأْنِ الَّذِي لَهُمْ عِنْدَكَ

and in the name of the position that they enjoy with You

صَلِّ عَلَيْهِمْ يا رَبِّ صَلاةً دائِمَةً مُنْتَهى رِضاكَ

to (please) bless them, O Lord, with blessings that are as endless until they attain Your pleasure,

وَاغْفِرْ لِي بِهِمْ الذُّنُوبَ الَّتِي بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَكَ

to forgive me, in their names, the sins that I committed concerning my duties towards You

وَأَرْضِ عَنِّي خَلْقَكَ

to make Your creatures to be satisfied with me,

وَأَتْمِمْ عَلَيَّ نِعْمَتَكَ

to complete Your favors upon me

كَما أَتْمَمْتَها عَلى آبائِي مِنْ قَبْلُ

in the same way as You had completed them upon my forefathers

وَلاتَجْعَلْ لاَحَدٍ مِنَ المَخْلُوقِينَ عَلَيَّ فِيها امْتِناناً

not to cause any of Your creatures to have any role in these favors

وَامْنُنْ عَلَيَّ كَما مَنَنْتَ عَلى آبائِي مِنْ قَبْلُ

to confer upon me with graces in the same way as You had already done with my forefathers

يا كهيعص

O kaf-ha’-ya’-`ayn-sad

اللّهُمَّ كَما صَلَّيْتَ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ

O Allah, in the same way as You have poured blessings upon Mu¦ammad and his Household,

فَاسْتَجِبْ لِي دُعائِي فِيما سَأَلْتُ

(please) respond to my entreaty as regards that which I have asked from You,

يا كَرِيمُ يا كَرِيمُ يا كَرِيمُ.

O All-generous! O All-generous! O All-generous!

يا مَنْ يَقْدِرُ عَلى حَوائِج السَّائِلينَ

O He Who has full power over settling requests of beseechers

وَيَعْلَمُ ما فِي ضَمِيرِ الصَّامِتِينَ

Who knows what is hidden in the inner selves of the silent

يا مَنْ لايَحْتاجُ إِلى التَّفْسِيرِ

O He Who does not require explanation.

يا مَنْ يَعْلَمُ خائِنَةَ الاَعْيُنِ وَماتُخْفِي الصُّدُورُ

O He Who knows the stealthy looks and that which the breasts conceal.

يا مَنْ أَنْزَلَ العَذابَ عَلى قَوْمِ يُونُسَ

O He Who decided chastisement to befall the people of (Prophet) Jonah

وَهُوَ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يُعَذِّبَهُمْ

and as He decided to chastise them

فَدَعَوْهُ وَتَضَرَّعُوا إِلَيْهِ

they prayed Him and besought Him;

فَكَشَفَ عَنْهُمْ العَذابَ وَمَتَّعَهُمْ إِلى حِينٍ

so, He removed from them the chastisement and He gave them provision until a time.

قَدْ تَرى مَكانِي

You do see where I am

وَتَسْمَعُ دُعائِي

You do hear my prayer,

وَتَعْلَمُ سِرِّي وَعَلانِيَّتِي وَحالِي

You do know what I conceal, what I declare, and in what situation I am

صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

(please) send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad

وَاكْفِنِي ماأَهَمَّنِي

and relieve me from all that which has aggrieved me

مِنْ أَمْرِ دِينِي وَدُنْيايَ وَآخِرَتِي

from the affairs of my religion, my worldly life, and my Next Life

يا سَيِّدِي

O my Master

يا رَبِّ أَسْأَلُكَ بَرَكَةَ هذا المَوْضِعِ

O my Lord, I pray You to grant me the blessing of this place

وَبَرَكَةَ أَهْلِهِ

and the blessing of its people

وَأَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تَرْزُقَنِي مِنْ رِزْقِكَ

And I pray You to grant me sustenance from Your sustenance

رِزْقاً حَلالاً طَيِّباً

sustenance that is legal and pleasant

تَسُوقُهُ إلى بِحَوْلِكَ وَقُوَّتِكَ

and that You bring it to me by Your might and power

وَأَنا خائِضٌ فِي عافِيَةٍ

while I experience good health

يا أرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ

O most merciful of all those who show mercy

اللّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ تَعْلَمُ وَلاأَعْلَمُ

O Allah, You verily know while I do not

وَتَقْدِرُ وَلا أَقْدِرُ

You have power (over all things) while I do not

وَأَنْتَ عَلامُ الغُيُوبِ

and You are the Knower of all unseen things.

صَلِّ اللّهُمَّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

(Please) send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad

وَاغْفِرْ لِي وَارْحَمْنِي

forgive me, have mercy upon me

وَتَجاوَزْ عَنِّي

overlook my sins

وَتَصَدَّقْ عَلَيَّ ما أَنْتَ أَهْلُهُ

and confer upon me with that which is befitting You

يا أرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ

O most merciful of all those who show mercy

يا مَنْ يَقْدِرُ عَلى حَوائِج السَّائِلينَ

O He Who has full power over settling requests of beseechers

وَيَعْلَمُ ما فِي ضَمِيرِ الصَّامِتِينَ

اللّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِجَمِيعِ أَسْمائِكَ كُلِّها

O Allah, I beseech You in the name of all Your Names:

ماعَلِمْنا مِنْها وَما لانَعْلَمُ

those which we know and those which we do not

وَأَسْأَلُكَ بِاسْمِكَ العَظِيمِ الأعْظَمِ

And I beseech You in the name of Your Great, All-great,

الكَبِيرِ الاَكْبَرِ

grand, and All-grand Name,

الَّذِي مَنْ دَعاكَ بِهِ أَجَبْتَهُ

which if one beseeches You by it, You will respond to him

وَمَنْ سَأَلَكَ بِهِ أَعْطَيْتَهُ

if one begs you by it, You will give him

وَمَنْ اسْتَنْصَرَكَ بِهِ نَصَرْتَهُ

if one asks You for victory by it, You will give him victory,

وَمَنْ اسْتَغْفَرَكَ بِهِ غَفَرْتَ لَهُ

if one asks for Your forgiveness by it, You will forgive him

وَمَنْ اسْتَعانَكَ بِهِ أَعَنْتَهُ

if one seeks Your aid by it, You will aid him,

وَمَنْ اسْتَرْزَقَكَ بِهِ رَزَقْتَهُ

if one solicits You by it for sustenance, You will grant him sustenance,

وَمَنْ اسْتَغاثَكَ بِهِ أَغَثْتَهُ

if one seeks Your help by it, You will help him

وَمَنْ اسْتَرْحَمَكَ بِهِ رَحِمْتَهُ

if one begs Your mercy by it, You will have mercy upon him,

وَمَنْ اسْتَجارَكَ بِهِ أَجَرْتَهُ

if one seeks refuge with You by it, You will protect him

وَمَنْ تَوَكَّلَ عَلَيْكَ بِهِ كَفَيْتَهُ

if one asks for Your support by it, You will support him

وَمَنِ اسْتَعْصَمَكَ بِهِ عَصَمْتَهُ

if one seeks Your shield by it, You will guard him

وَمَنِ اسْتَنْقَذَكَ بِهِ مِنَ النَّارِ أَنْقَذْتَهُ

if one seeks You by it to save him from Hellfire, You will save him

وَمَنِ اسْتَعْطَفَكَ بِهِ تَعَطَّفْتَ لَهُ

if one seeks Your kindness by it, You will be kind to him

وَمَنْ أَمَّلَكَ بِهِ أَعْطَيْتَهُ

and if one puts hope in You by it, You will give him:

الَّذِي اتَّخَذْتَ بِهِ آدَمَ صَفِيّاً

the Name by which You have betaken Adam as Your choice,

وَنُوحاً نَجِيّاً

Noah as Your confidant,

وَإِبْراهِيمَ خَلِيلاً

Abraham as Your intimate friend

وَمُوسى كَلِيماً

Moses as the one spoken by You

وَعِيسى رُوحاً

Jesus as Your spirit,

وَمُحَمَّداً حَبِيباً

Mu¦ammad as Your most beloved one

وَعَلِيّاً وَصِيّاً

and `Ali as Your Prophet’s successor

صَلَّى الله عَلَيْهِمْ أَجْمَعِينَ

may Your blessings be upon all of them

أَنْ تَقْضِيَ لِي حَوائِجِي

(I beseech You) to grant me my requests

وَتَعْفُوَ عَمّا سَلَفَ مِنْ ذُنُوبِي

overlook my past sins

وَتَتَفَضَّلَ عَلَيَّ بِما أَنْتَ أَهْلُهُ

and confer upon me with that which befits You

وَلِجَمِيعِ المُؤْمِنِينَ وَالمُؤْمِناتِ لِلدُّنْيا وَالآخِرةِ

as well as upon all the believing men and women in this world and the world to come

يا مُفَرِّجَ هَمِّ المَهْمُومِينَ

O He Who relieves the grievances of the aggrieved ones!

وَياغِياثَ المَلْهُوفِينَ

O He Who aids the confused ones

لا إِلهَ إِلاّ أَنْتَ

There is no god but You.

سُبْحانَكَ يا رَبَّ العالَمِينَ

All glory be to You, O Lord of the worlds.

بِسْمِ الله الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ

In the Name of Allah; the All- beneficent, the All-merciful.

اللّهُمَّ إِنَّ ذُنُوبِي قَدْ كَثُرَتْ

O Allah, my sins have been growing

وَلَمْ يَبْقَ لَها إِلاّ رَجاءُ عَفْوِكَ

and nothing can stand for them except the hope in Your pardon

وَقَدْ قَدَّمْتُ آلَةَ الحِرْمانِ إِلَيْكَ

although I have done things due to which I deserve deprivation of Your pardon.

فَأَنا أَسْأَلُكَ اللّهُمَّ مالا اسْتَوْجِبَهُ

Therefore, I beseech You, O Allah, for that which I do not deserve

وَأَطْلُبُ مِنْكَ مالا اسْتَحِقُّهُ

and I seek from You that which I do not merit.

اللّهُمَّ إِنْ تُعَذِّبْنِي فَبِذُنُوبِي

O Allah, If you chastise me, then this will be on account of my sins

وَلَمْ تَظْلِمْنِي شَيْئاً

and You shall never be unjust to me.

وَإِنْ تَغْفِرْ لِي فَخَيْرُ راحِمٍ أَنْتَ يا سَيِّدِي

But if You forgive me, then You are already the best of all those who show mercy, O my Master.

اللّهُمَّ أَنْتَ أَنْتَ وَأَنا أَنا

O Allah, You are what You are and I am what I am

أَنْتَ العَوَّادُ بِالمَغْفِرَةِ

You always return with forgiveness

وَأَنا العَوَّادُ بِالذُّنُوبِ

and I always return with sinning.

وَأَنْتَ المُتَفَضِّلُ بِالحِلْمِ

You always confer with forbearance

وَأَنا العَوَّادُ بِالجَهْلِ

and I always return with impatience.

اللّهُمَّ فَإِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ

O Allah, I do beseech You

يا كَنْزَ الضُّعَفاءِ

O treasure of the weak!

يا عَظِيمَ الرَّجاءِ

O He in Whom great hope is put!

يا مُنْقِذَ الغَرْقى

O rescuer of the drowned!

يا مُنْجِيَ الهَلْكى

O savior of those about to perish!

يا مُمِيتَ الاَحْياءِ

O He Who cause the alive to die!

يا مُحْييَ المَوْتى

O He Who causes the dead to live again!

أَنْتَ الله لا إِلهَ إِلاّ أَنْتَ

You are Allah; there is no god but You

أَنْتَ الَّذِي سَجَدَ لَكَ شُعاعُ الشَّمْسِ

It is You before Whom have prostrated the ray of the sun

وَنُورُ القَمَرِ

the moonlight,

وَظُلْمَةُ اللَيْلِ

the murk of night

وَضَوُْ النَّهارِ

the light of daytime,

وَخَفَقَانُ الطَّيْرِ

and the flapping of birds.

فَأَسْأَلُكَ اللّهُمَّ يا عَظِيمُ

I thus beseech You, O All-great,

بِحَقِّكَ يَا كَرِيمُ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ الصَّادِقِينَ

in the name of the duty of Muhammad and his veracious Household towards You, O All- generous,

وَبِحَقِّ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ الصَّادِقِينَ عَلَيكَ

in the name of Your duty towards Muhammad and his veracious Household

وَبِحَقِّكَ عَلى عَلِيٍّ

in the name of the duty of `Ali towards You

وَبِحَقِّ عَلِيٍّ عَلَيكَ

in the name of Your duty towards `Ali

وَبِحَقِّكَ عَلى فاطِمَةَ

in the name of the duty of Fatimah towards You,

وَبِحَقِّ فاطِمَةَ عَلَيكَ

in the name of Your duty towards Fatimah

وَبِحَقِّكَ عَلى الحَسَنِ

in the name of the duty of al- Hasan towards You

وَبِحَقِّ الحَسَنِ عَلَيكَ

in the name of Your duty towards al-Hasan,

وَبِحَقِّكَ عَلى الحُسَيْنِ

in the name of the duty of al- Husayn towards You

وَبِحِقِّ الحُسَيْنِ عَلَيكَ

and in the name of Your duty towards al-Husayn.

فَإِنَّ حُقُوقَهُمْ عَلَيكَ مِنْ أَفْضَلِ إِنْعامِكَ عَلَيْهِمْ

Verily, Your duty towards them is one of the greatest blessings that You conferred upon them

وَبِالشَّأْنِ الَّذِي لَكَ عِنْدَهُمْ

And (I beseech You) in the name of the position that You enjoy with them

وَبِالشَّأْنِ الَّذِي لَهُمْ عِنْدَكَ

and in the name of the position that they enjoy with You

صَلِّ يا رَبِّ عَلَيْهِمْ

to (please) bless them, O Lord

صَلاةً دائِمَةً مُنْتَهى رِضاكَ

with blessings that are endless until they attain Your pleasure,

وَاغْفِرْ لِي بِهِمْ الذُّنُوبَ الَّتِي بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَكَ

to forgive me, in their names, the sins that I committed concerning my duties towards You

وَأَتْمِمْ نِعْمَتَكَ عَلَيَّ

to complete Your favors upon me

كَما أَتْمَمْتَها عَلى آبائِي مِنْ قَبْلُ

in the same way as You had completed them upon my forefathers.

يا كهيعص

O kaf-ha’-ya’-`ayn-sad

اللّهُمَّ كَما صَلَّيْتَ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

O Allah, just as You have poured blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,

فَاسْتَجِبْ لِي دُعَائِي فِيمَا سَأَلْتُكَ.

(please) respond to my entreaty as regards that which I have asked from You.

يا سَيِّدِي يا سَيِّدِي يا سَيِّدِي

O my Master! O my Master! O my Master!

صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

Bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad

وَاغْفِرْ لِي وَاغْفِرْ لِي

and forgive me. Please, forgive me...

إِلهِي إِنْ كُنْتُ قَدْ عَصَيْتُكَ

O Allah, if I have disobeyed you

فَإِنِّي أَطَعْتُكَ فِي أَحَبِّ الأشْياءِ إِلَيْكَ

I have also obeyed you in the things that You most like

لَمْ أَتَّخِذْ لَكَ وَلَداً

I have not claimed that You have child

وَلَمْ أَدْعُ لَكَ شَرِيكاً

and I have not associated any one with You.

وَقَدْ عَصَيْتُكَ فِي أَشْياءَ كَثِيرَةٍ

Yet, I have disobeyed You in many things

عَلى غَيْرِ وَجْهِ المُكابَرَةِ لَكَ

on account of neither defiance,

وَلا الاِسْتِكبارِ عَنْ عِبادَتِكَ

nor my being too arrogant to serve You

وَلا الجُحُودِ لِرِبُوبِيَّتِكَ

nor denial of Your Godhead

وَلا الخُرُوجِ عَنِ العُبُودِيَّةِ لَكَ

nor mutiny against my servitude to You;

وَلكِنِ اتَّبعْتُ هَوايَ

rather, I only followed my lusts

وَأَزَلَّنِي الشَّيْطانُ بَعْدَ الحُجَّةِ وَالبَيانِ

and Satan caused me to slip although You have clear argument against me

فَإِنْ تُعَذِّبْنِي فَبِذُنُوبِي غَيْرَ ظالِمٍ أَنْتَ لِي

Thus, if You chastise me, then it is on account of my sins and You are never unjust to me

وَإِنْ تَعْفُ عَنِّي وَتَرْحَمْنِي

And if You pardon me and have mercy upon me,

فَبِجُودِكَ وَكَرَمِكَ يا كَرِيمُ

then this is out of Your magnanimity and generosity, O All-generous

غَدَوْتُ بِحَوْلِ الله وَقُوَّتِهِ

I begin this day with the might and power of Allah

غَدَوْتُ بِغَيْرِ حَوْلٍ مِنِّي وَلاقُوَّةٍ

I do not begin it with my might or power;

وَلكِنْ بِحَوْلِ الله وَقُوَّتِهِ

rather, with Allah’s might and power.

يا رَبِّ أَسْأَلُكَ بَرَكَةَ هذا البَيْتِ وَبَرَكَةَ أَهْلِهِ

O my Lord, I beseech You for the blessing of this house and the blessing of its people

وَأَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تَرْزُقَنِي رِزْقاً حَلالاً طَيِّباً

and I pray You to grant me sustenance from Your sustenance; sustenance that is legal and pleasant

تَسوقُهُ إلى بِحَوْلِكَ وَقُوَّتِكَ

and that You bring it to me by Your might and Power,

وَأَنا خائِضٌ فِي عافِيَتِكَ.

while I experience good health.

اللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَاقْضِ حاجَتِي يا الله يا مَنْ لايَخِيبُ سائِلُهُ وَلايَنْفَذُ نائِلُهُ ، يا قاضِيَ الحاجاتِ يا مُجِيبَ الدَّعَواتِ يا رَبَّ الأَرضِينَ وَالسَّماواتِ يا كاشِفَ الكُرُباتِ يا واسِعَ العَطَّياتِ يا دافِعَ النَّقِماتِ يا مُبَدِّلَ السَّيِّئاتِ حَسناتٍ ، عُدْ عَلَيَّ بِطَوْلِكَ وَفَضْلِكَ وَإِحْسانِكَ وَاسْتَجِبْ دُعائِي فِيما سَأَلْتُكَ وَطَلَبْتُ مِنْكَ بِحَقِّ نَبِيِّكَ وَوَصِيِّكَ وَأَوْلِيائِكَ الصَّالِحِينَ

O Allah, (please) send blessings upon Muhammad and theHousehold of Muhammadand grant my request. O Allah!O He Whose beseecher is never disappointedand Whose gifts are inexhaustible!O Settler of needs!O Responding to the prayers!O Lord of the earth layers and the heavens!O Reliever of agonies!O expansive Donor of gifts!O Savior from hardships!O He Who changes the punishments of wrongdoings into rewards for good deeds(Please do) confer upon me with Your bounty, favor, and kindness,and (please do) respond to my prayers regarding that which I have besought and asked from You,in the name of Your Prophet, Your Prophet’s successor, and Your righteous saints.

اللّهُمَّ إِنِّي حَلَلْتُ بِساحَِتكَ لِعِلْمِي بِوِحْدانِيَّتِكَ وَصَمَدانِيَّتِكَ وَأَنَّهُ لاقادِرَ عَلى قَضاء حاجَتِي غَيْرُكَ وَقَدْ عَلِمْتُ يا رَبِّ أَنَّهُ كُلَّما شاهَدْتُ نِعْمَتَكَ عَلَيَّ اشْتَدَّتْ فاقَتِي إِلَيْكَ ، وَقدْ طَرَقَنِي يا رَبِّ مِنْ مُهمِّ أَمْرِي ما قَدْ عَرَفْتَهُ لاَنَّكَ عالِمٌ غَيْرُ مُعَلَّمٍ ، وَأَسْأَلُكَ بِالاِسْم‌ِالَّذِي وَضَعْتَهُ عَلى السَّماواتِ فَانْشَقَّتْ وَعَلى الأَرَضِينَ فَانْبَسَطَتْ وَعَلى النُّجُومِ فَانْتَشَرَتْ وَعَلى الجِبالِ فَاسْتَقَرَّتْ ، وَأَسْأَلُكَ بِالاِسْم‌ِالَّذِي جَعَلْتَهُ عِنْدَ مُحَمَّدٍ وَعِنْدَ عَلِيٍّ وَعِنْدَ الحَسَنِ وَعِنْدَ الحُسَيْنِ وَعِنْدَ الأَئِمَّةِ كُلِّهِمْ صَلَواتُ الله عَلَيْهِمْ أَجْمَعِينَ ، أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَأَنْ تَقْضِي لِي يا رَبِّ حاجَتِي وَتُيَسِّرَ عَسِيرَها وَتَكْفِيَنِي مُهِمَّها وَتَفْتَحَ لِي قُفْلَها ؛ فَإِنْ فَعَلْتَ ذلِكَ فَلَكَ الحَمْدُ وَإِنْ لَمْ تَفْعَلْ فَلَكَ الحَمْدُ غَيْرُ جائِرٍ فِي حُكْمِكَ وَلا خائِفٍ فِي عَدْلِك.

O Allah, I am residing in Your courtyard,because I have full recognition of Your Oneness and Independenceand I know for sure that none can ever settle my need save You.I also admit, O my Lord,that the more I feel Your favors upon me,the more I need You. O my Lord, I have been inflicted with aggrieving matters that You know,because You are All-knowing and You do not want information.I thus beseech You in the Name that when You put on the heavens, they rent asunder,when You put on the earth, it spread out,when You put on the stars, they diffused,and when You put on the mountains, they settled down; and I beseech You in the Name that You put with Muhammad, with `Ali with al-Hasan, with al-Husayn,and with all the Imams,blessings be upon them all,to bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,to grant me all my requests, O my Lord,to make easy the difficult ones of them,to relieve me from the grievances of them,and to unlock for me their locks. If You do that for me, then all praise be to You,and if You do not, still all praise be to You,for You never decide wronglyand You never exceed justice.

اللّهُمَّ إِنَّ يُونُسَ بْنَ مَتّى عليه‌السلام عَبْدَكَ وَنَبِيَّكَ دَعاكَ فِي بَطْنِ الحُوتِ فَاسْتَجَبْتَ لَهُ وَأَنا أَدْعُوكَ فَاسْتَجِبْ لِي بِحَقِّ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ.

O Allah, Jonah the son of Matthias,peace be upon him, Your servant and Prophet,prayed You from the inside of the whale, and You responded to his prayer.I thus pray You; so, (please) respond to mein the name of Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad.

اللّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ أَمَرْتَ بِالدُّعاءِ وَتَكَفَّلْتَ بِالإِجابَةِ وَأَنا أَدْعُوكَ كَما أَمَرْتَنِي فَصَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَاسْتَجِبْ لِي كَما وَعَدْتَنِي يا كَرِيمُ.

O Allah, You have ordered us to pray Youand You have thus promised of response.Hence, I am praying You as You have ordered;so, (please) send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammadand respond to me as You have promised,O All-generous!

يا مُعِزَّ كُلِّ ذَلِيلٍ وَيامُذِلَّ كُلِّ عَزِيزٍ تَعْلَمُ كُرْبَتِي فَصَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ وَفَرِّجْ عَنِّي يا كَرِيمُ .

O He Who (is able to) reinforce any humble one!O He Who (is able to) humiliate any arrogant one!You know my agony;so, (please) bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammadand relieve me, O All-generous!

اللّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ يا مَنْ لاتَراهُ العُيُونُ وَلاتُحِيطُ بِهِ الظُّنُونُ وَلايَصِفُهُ الواصِفُونَ وَلا تُغَيِّرُهُ الحَوادِثُ وَلاتُفْنِيهِ الدُّهُورُ ، تَعْلَمُ مَثاقِيلَ الجِبالِ وَمَكايِيلَ البِحارِ وَوَرَقَ الاَشْجارِ وَرَمْلَ القِفارِ وَما أَضائَتْ بِهِ الشَّمْسُ وَالقَمَرُ وَأَظْلَمَ عَلَيْهِ اللَيْلُ وَوَضَحَ عَلَيْهِ النَّهارُ وَلاتُوارِي مِنْكَ سَماءٌ سَماءً وَلا أَرْضٌ أَرْضاً وَلاجَبَلٌ ما فِي أَصْلِهِ ، وَلا بَحْرٌ مافِي قَعْرِهِ ، وَأَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَأَنْ تَجْعَلَ خَيْرَ أَمْرِي آخِرَهُ وَخَيْرَ أَعْمالِي خَواتِيمَها وَخَيْرَ أَيَّامِي يَوْمَ أَلْقاكَ إِنَّكَ عَلى كُلِّ شَيٍْ قَدِيرٌ

O Allah, I beseech You, O He Whom cannot be seen by eyes,Whom cannot be comprehended by visions,Whom cannot be described by all those who describe Him,Whom cannot be affected by events,and Whom cannot be obliterated due to passage of ages!You know the measures of mountains,the amounts (of water) of oceans,the number of the trees’ leaves,the sands of deserts,whatever is under the sunlight and moonlight,whatever is under darkness of night,and whatever is shown by daylight.No sky can screen another sky from You,no layer of the earth can screen another layer from You,no mountain can screen its other parts from You,and no ocean can screen its depths from You.I thus beseech You to send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,to cause the best of my affair to be the conclusion of it,to cause the best of my deeds to be the last of them,and to cause the best of my days to be the day when I meet You,for You verily have power over all things.

اللّهُمَّ مَنْ أَرادَنِي بِسُوءٍ فَأَرِدْهُ وَمَنْ كادَنِي فَكِدْهُ وَمَنْ بَغانِي بِهَلَكَةٍ فَأَهْلِكْهُ وَاكْفِنِي ماأَهَمَّنِي مِمَّنْ دَخَلَ هَمُّهُ عَلَيَّ ، اللّهُمَّ ادْخِلْنِي فِي دِرْعِكَ الحَصِينَةِ وَاسْتُرْنِي بِسِتْرِكَ الواقِي يا مَنْ يَكْفِي مِنْ كُلِّ شَيٍْ وَلايَكْفِي مِنْهُ شَيٌْ اكْفِنِي ما أَهَمَّنِي مِنْ أَمْرِ الدُّنْيا وَالآخِرةِ وَصَدِّقْ قَوْلِي وَفِعْلِي يا شَفِيقُ يا رَفِيقُ فَرِّجْ عَنِّي المَضِيقَ وَلاتُحَمِّلْنِي ما لا اُطِيقُ ، اللّهُمَّ احْرُسْنِي بِعَيْنِكَ الَّتِي لا تَنامُ وَارْحَمْنِي بِقُدْرَتِكَ عَلَيَّ يا أرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ ، يا عَلِيُّ يا عَظِيمُ أَنْتَ عالِمٌ بِحاجَتِي وَعَلى قَضائِها قَدِيرٌ وَهِي لَدَيْكَ يَسِيرٌ وَأَنا إِلَيْكَ فَقِيرٌ فَمُنَّ بِها عَلَيَّ يا كَرِيمُ إِنَّكَ عَلى كُلِّ شَيٍْ قَدِيرٌ.

O Allah, (please do) deter all those who intend evil to me,encumber all those who plan to do evil to me,terminate all those who is set to terminate me,and save me from all that which aggrieves me at the hands of those who intend grief to me.O Allah, (please do) include me with Your impervious armorand cover me with Your protective shield.O He Who saves from all thingsand nothing can ever save from You(please) relieve me from whatever has aggrieved me from the affairs of this world and the world to comeand cause my words to be corresponding with my deeds. O All-sympathetic! O All-kind!(please) relieve me from depressionand do not burden on me that which I cannot stand.O Allah, (please) guard me with Your Eye that never sleepsand have mercy upon me in the name of Your power over me.O most merciful of all those who show mercy!O All-high! O All-great!You know what I need and You have the power to grant it to me,which is an easy thing to be done by Youand I do want You;so, (please) do me the favor of done by Youand I do want You;so, (please) do me the favor of settling my need, O All- merciful!Verily, You have power over all things.

إِلهِي قَدْ عَلِمْتَ حَوائِجِي فَصَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَاقْضِها وَقَدْ أَحْصَيْتَ ذُنُوبِي فَصَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ وَاغْفِرْها يا كَرِيمُ.

O my God, You have known my needs;so, please send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad and settle my needs.You have accounted all my sins ;so, please send blessings upon Muhammad and his Household and forgive them,O All-generous!

إِنْ كُنْتُ بِئْسَ العَبْدُ فَأَنْتَ نِعْمَ الرَّبُّ افْعَلْ بِي ما أَنْتَ أَهْلُهُ وَلا تَفْعَلْ بِي ماأَنا أَهْلُهُ يا أرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمينَ.

If I am the worst servant (of You), then You are the All-excellent Lord; so, please do to me that which befits You and do not do to me that which I deserve, O most merciful of all those who show mercy!

اللّهُمَّ إِنْ عَظُمَ الذَّنْبُ مِنْ عَبْدِكَ فَلْيَحْسُنِ العَفْوُ مِنْ عِنْدِكَ يا كَرِيمُ.

O Allah, if Your servant’s sin has been very flagrant, then, let Your pardon be very excellent, O All-generous!

إرْحَمْ مَنْ أَساءَ وَاقْتَرَفَ وَاسْتَكانَ وَاعْتَرَفَ.

(Please) have mercy upon him who had misbehaved and committed sins,but he then submitted and confessed.

وَاغْفِرْها يا كَرِيمُ

forgive them,O All-generous...
