السَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ اهْلِ ٱلدِّيَارِ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ
Peace be upon the inhabitants of these graves, the faithful believers and Muslims.
- 2
انْتُمْ لَنَا فَرَطٌ
You have preceded us,
- 3
وَنَحْنُ إِنْ شَاءَ ٱللَّهُ بِكُمْ لاَحِقُونَ
and we, Allah willing, shall join you.
- 4
اَللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ هٰذِهِ ٱلارْوَاحِ ٱلْفَانِيَةِ
O Allah, O Lord of these extinct souls,
- 5
وَٱلاجْسَادِ ٱلْبَالِيَةِ
rotten bodies,
- 6
وَٱلْعِظَامِ ٱلنَّخِرَةِ
and crumbled bones
- 7
ٱلَّتِي خَرَجَتْ مِنَ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَهِيَ بِكَ مُؤْمِنَةٌ
that left this worldly life bearing faith in You,
- 8
ادْخِلْ عَلَيْهِمْ رَوْحاً مِنْكَ وَسَلاَماً مِنِّي
(please) insert into them rest from You and salutation from me.
- 9
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ اهْلِ لاَ إِلٰهَ إِلاَّ ٱللَّهُ
Peace be upon the group of “There is no god save Allah”
- 10
مِنْ اهْلِ لاَ إِلٰهَ إِلاَّ ٱللَّهُ
from the group of “There is no god save Allah.”
- 11
يَا اهْلَ لاَ إِلٰهَ إِلاَّ ٱللَّهُ
O group of “There is no god save Allah,”
- 12
بِحَقِّ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ ٱللَّهُ
in the name of “There is no god save Allah,”
- 13
كَيْفَ وَجَدْتُمْ قَوْلَ لاَ إِلٰهَ إِلاَّ ٱللَّهُ
how have you found the profession of “There is no god save Allah”
- 14
مِنْ لاَ إِلٰهَ إِلاَّ ٱللَّهُ
from “There is no god save Allah?”
- 15
يَا لاَ إِلٰهَ إِلاَّ ٱللَّهُ
O He to Whom “There is no god save Allah” is said,
- 16
بِحَقِّ لاَ إِلٰهَ إِلاَّ ٱللَّهُ
I beseech You in the name of “There is no god save Allah”
- 17
ٱغْفِرْ لِمَنْ قَالَ لاَ إِلٰهَ إِلاَّ ٱللَّهُ
to forgive any one who professed that “There is no god save Allah”
- 18
وَٱحْشُرْنَا فِي زُمْرَةِ مَنْ قَالَ لاَ إِلٰهَ إِلاَّ ٱللَّهُ
and to include us in the group of those who professed that “There is no god save Allah.
- 19
مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ
Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.
- 20
عَلِيٌّ وَلِيُّ ٱللَّهِ
`Ali is the authority from Allah.”
- 21
اَللَّهُمَّ وَلِّهِمْ مَا تَوَلَّوْٱ
O Allah, (please) turn them to that to which they have turned
- 22
وَٱحْشُرْهُمْ مَعَ مَنْ احَبُّوٱ
and join them to those whom they have loved.
- 23
اَللَّهُمَّ ٱرْحَمْ غُرْبَتَهُ
O Allah, (please) have mercy on his strangeness,
- 24
وَصِلْ وَحْدَتَهُ
connect his loneliness,
- 25
وَآنِسْ وَحْشَتَهُ
entertain his isolation,
- 26
وَآمِنْ رَوْعَتَهُ
secure his horror,
- 27
وَاسْكِنْ إِِلَيْهِ مِنْ رَحْمَتِكَ
attach Your mercy to him;
- 28
رَحْمَةً يَسْتَغْنِي بِهَا عَنْ رَحْمَةِ مَنْ سِوَاكَ
such mercy by which he can do without the mercy of anyone other than You,
- 29
وَالْحِقْهُ بِمَنْ كَانَ يَتَوَلاَّهُ
and join him to those to whom he has adhered.
- 30
اَللَّهُمَّ جَافِ ٱلارْضَ عَنْ جُنُوبِهِمْ
O Allah, (please) prevent the soil from harming their sides,
- 31
وَصَاعِدْ إِلَيْكَ ارْوَاحَهُمْ
take their souls up to You,
- 32
وَزِدْهُمْ مِنْكَ رِضْوَاناً
increase Your pleasure with them,
- 33
وَاسْكِنْ إِلَيْهِمْ مِنْ رَحْمَتِكَ
and make part of Your mercy dwell with them
- 34
مَا تَصِلُ بِهِ وَحْدَتَهُمْ
so that You will save them from loneliness
- 35
وَتُؤْنِسُ وَحْشَتَهُمْ
and entertain their isolation.
- 36
إِنَّكَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
Verily, You have power over all things.”
- 37
اللّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِحَقِّ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ أَنْ لا تُعَذِّبَ هذا المَيِّتِ.
O Allah, I do beseech You in the name of Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad not to torment this dead.
