    أللَّهُمَّ لَـكَ الْحَمْدُ بَدِيْعَ السَّموَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ،

    O God, to You belongs the praise, O Originator of the heavens and the earth,

    ذَا الْجَلاَلِ وَالإكْرَامِ،

    Possessor of Majesty and Generosity,

  3. 3

    رَبَّ الاَرْبَابِ وَإلهَ كُلِّ مَألُوه،

    Lord of all lords, and God of every worshipped one,

  4. 4

    وَخَالِقَ كُلِّ مَخْلُوق،

    and Creator of every creature,

  5. 5

    وَوَارِثَ كُلِّ شَيْء، لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهِ شَـيْءٌ،

    and Inheritor of everything, there is nothing like Him,

  6. 6

    وَلا يَعْزُبُ عَنْهُ عِلْمُ شَيْء،

    and the knowledge of nothing is hidden from Him,

  7. 7

    وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ شَيْء مُحِيطٌ،

    and He encompasses everything,

  8. 8

    وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْء رَقِيبٌ،

    and He is a Watcher over everything,

  9. 9

    أَنْتَ الله لاَ إلهَ إلاَّ أَنْتَ الاَحَـدُ الْمُتَوَحِّدُ الْفَرْدُ الْمُتَفَرِّدُ،

    You are God, there is no god but You, the Single, the Singular, the Unique, the One and Only,

    وَأَنْتَ اللهُ لاَ إلهَ إلاَّ أَنْتَ الْكَرِيمُ الْمُتَكَرِّمُ،

    and You are God, there is no god but You, the Generous, the Self-Exalting in Generosity,

  11. 11

    الْعَظِيمُ الْمُتَعَظِّمُ، الْكَبِيرُ الْمُتَكَبِّرُ.

    the Magnificent, the Self-Exalting in Magnificence, the Great, the Self-Exalting in Greatness.

    وَأَنْتَ اللهُ لاَ إلهَ إلاَّ أَنْتَ العَلِيُّ الْمُتَعَالِ، الْشَدِيْدُ الْمِحَـالِ.

    and You are God, there is no god but You, the High, the Exalted, the Severe in Might.

    وَأَنْتَ اللهُ لا إلهَ إلاَّ أَنْتَ الـرَّحْمنُ الرَّحِيمُ الْعَلِيمُ الْحَكِيمُ.

    and You are God, there is no god but You, the All-Merciful, the Ever-Merciful, the All-Knowing, the All-Wise.

    وَأَنْتَ اللهُ لا إلهَ إلاّ أَنْتَ السَّمِيعُ الْبَصِيرُ الْقَدِيمُ الْخَبِيرُ،

    and You are God, there is no god but You, the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing, the Ancient, the All-Aware,

    وَأَنْتَ اللهُ لاَ إلهَ إلاّ أَنْتَ الْكَرِيمُ الاَكْرَمُ الدَّائِمُ الادْوَمُ،

    and You are God, there is no god but You, the Generous, the Most Generous, the Perpetual, the Most Enduring,

    وَأَنْتَ اللهُ لا إلهَ إلاّ أَنْتَ الاوَّلُ

    and You are God, there is no god but You, the First,

  17. 17

    قَبْلَ كُلِّ أَحَد وَالاخِرُ بَعْدَ كُلِّ عَدَد،

    before every single one, and the Last after every number,

  18. 18

    وَأَنْتَ اللهُ لا إلهَ إلاّ أَنْتَ الدَّانِي فِي عُلُوِّهِ،

    and You are God, there is no god but You, the Near in His height,

  19. 19

    وَالْعَالِي فِي دُنُوِّهِ،

    and the High in His nearness.

  20. 20

    وَأَنْتَ اللهُ لاَ إلهَ إلاَّ أَنْتَ ذُو الْبَهَاءِ وَالْمَجْدِ وَالْكِبْرِيَاءِ وَالْحَمْدِ.

    and You are God, there is no god but You, the Possessor of Splendor, Glory, Greatness, and Praise.

    وَأَنْتَ اللهُ لاَ إلهَ إلاّ أَنْتَ الَّذِي أَنْشَأْتَ الاشْيَاءَ مِنْ غَيْرِ سِنْخ،

    and You are God, there is no god but You, the One who originated things from no root,

  22. 22

    وَصَوَّرْتَ مَا صَوَّرْتَ مِنْ غَيْرِ مِثال،

    and depicted what You depicted from no example,

  23. 23

    وَابْتَدَعْتَ الْمُبْتَدَعَاتِ بِلاَ احْتِذَآء.

    and invented the newly invented things without imitation.

  24. 24

    أَنْتَ الَّذِي قَدَّرْتَ كُلَّ شَيْء تَقْدِيراً

    You are the One who measured out everything with a measure,

  25. 25

    وَيَسَّرْتَ كُلَّ شَيْء تَيْسِيراً،

    and made everything easy with an ease,

  26. 26

    وَدَبَّرْتَ مَا دُونَكَ تَدْبِيْراً.

    and managed what is beneath You with a management.

  27. 27

    وَأَنْتَ الَّذِي لَمْ يُعِنْكَ عَلَى خَلْقِكَ شَرِيكٌ

    and You are the One whose creation no partner assisted,

  28. 28

    وَلَمْ يُؤازِرْكَ فِي أَمْرِكَ وَزِيرٌ،

    and whose command no minister backed,

  29. 29

    وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَكَ مُشَاهِدٌ وَلا نَظِيرٌ.

    and for whom there was no witness and no peer.

  30. 30

    أَنْتَ الَّذِي أَرَدْتَ فَكَانَ حَتْماً مَا أَرَدْتَ،

    You are the One who willed, and what You willed was a certainty,

  31. 31

    وَقَضَيْتَ فَكَانَ عَدْلاً مَا قَضَيْتَ،

    and decreed, and what You decreed was justice,

  32. 32

    وَحَكَمْتَ فَكَانَ نِصْفاً مَا حَكَمْتَ،

    and judged, and what You judged was equity.

  33. 33

    أَنْتَ الَّـذِي لا يَحْوِيْـكَ مَكَانٌ

    You are the One whom no place contains,

  34. 34

    وَلَمْ يَقُمْ لِسُلْطَانِكَ سُلْطَانٌ،

    and whose sovereignty no authority stands up against,

  35. 35

    وَلَمْ يُعْيِكَ بُرْهَانٌ وَلا بَيَانٌ.

    and whom no proof or explanation tires.

  36. 36

    أَنْتَ الَّذِي أَحْصَيْتَ كُلَّ شَيْء عَدَدَاً،

    You are the One who counted every single thing in number,

  37. 37

    وَجَعَلْتَ لِكُلِّ شَيْء أَمَداً،

    and assigned a term to everything,

  38. 38

    وَقَدَّرْتَ كُلَّ شَيْء تَقْدِيْراً.

    and measured out everything with a measure.

  39. 39

    أَنْتَ الَّذِي قَصُرَتِ الاوْهَامُ عَنْ ذَاتِيَّتِكَ،

    You are the One whose selfhood imaginations fall short of,

  40. 40

    وَعَجَزَتِ الافْهَامُ عَنْ كَيْفِيَّتِكَ ،

    and whose nature intellects are incapable of,

  41. 41

    وَلَمْ تُدْرِكِ الابْصَارُ مَوْضِعَ أَيْنِيَّتِكَ.

    and the eyes have not comprehended the location of Your where-ness.

  42. 42

    أَنْتَ الَّذِي لا تُحَدُّ فَتَكُونَ مَحْدُوداً،

    You are the One who is not limited so as to be confined,

  43. 43

    وَلَمْ تُمَثَّلْ فَتَكُونَ مَوْجُوداً،

    and has not been represented so as to be concrete,

  44. 44

    وَلَمْ تَلِدْ فَتَكُونَ مَوْلُوداً.

    and has not begotten so as to be begotten.

  45. 45

    أَنْتَ الَّذِي لا ضِدَّ مَعَكَ فَيُعَانِدَكَ،

    You are the One with whom there is no contrary to oppose You,

  46. 46

    وَلا عِدْلَ فَيُكَاثِرَكَ، وَلاَ نِدَّ لَكَ فَيُعَارِضَكَ.

    and no equal to outnumber You, and no peer to rival You.

  47. 47

    أَنْتَ الَّـذِي ابْتَدَأ وَاخْتَـرَعَ

    You are the One who originated and devised,

  48. 48

    وَاسْتَحْدَثَ وَابْتَـدَعَ

    and brought forth and innovated,

  49. 49

    وَأَحْسَنَ صُنْعَ مَا صَنَعَ،

    and perfected the making of what He made.

  50. 50

    سُبْحانَكَ! مَا أَجَلَّ شَأنَكَ،

    Glory be to You! How magnificent is Your station,

  51. 51

    وَأَسْنَى فِي الامَاكِنِ مَكَانَكَ،

    and how sublime is Your place among places,

  52. 52

    وَأَصْدَعَ بِالْحَقِّ فُرقَانَكَ.

    and how clear is Your distinction by truth!

  53. 53

    سُبْحَانَكَ مِنْ لَطِيفٍ مَا أَلْطَفَكَ،

    Glory be to You, from a Kind One, how kind You are,

  54. 54

    وَرَؤُوفٍ مَا أَرْأَفَكَ، وَحَكِيمٍ مَا أَعْرَفَكَ!

    and a Compassionate One, how compassionate You are, and a Wise One, how knowing You are!

  55. 55

    سُبْحَانَكَ مِنْ مَلِيْكٍ مَا أَمْنَعَكَ،

    Glory be to You, from a Sovereign, how impregnable You are,

  56. 56

    وَجَوَادٍ مَا أَوْسَعَكَ، وَرَفِيعٍ مَا أَرْفَعَكَ،

    and a Generous One, how vast You are, and a Sublime One, how high You are!

  57. 57

    ذُو الْبَهاءِ وَالْمَجْدِ وَالْكِبْرِيَاءِ وَالْحَمْدِ .

    The Possessor of Splendor, Glory, Greatness, and Praise.

  58. 58

    سُبْحَانَكَ بَسَطْتَ بِالْخَيْرَاتِ يَدَكَ

    Glory be to You, You have stretched forth Your Hand with all good things,

  59. 59

    وَعُرِفَتِ الْهِدَايَةُ مِنْ عِنْدِكَ،

    and guidance is known to come from You,

  60. 60

    فَمَنِ الْتَمَسَكَ لِدِينٍ أَوْ دُنْيا وَجَدَكَ.

    so whoever seeks You for religion or for this world, finds You.

  61. 61

    سُبْحَانَكَ خَضَعَ لَكَ مَنْ جَرى فِي عِلْمِكَ،

    Glory be to You, whoever runs within Your knowledge submits to You,

  62. 62

    وَخَشَعَ لِعَظَمَتِكَ مَا دُونَ عَرْشِكَ،

    and whatever is beneath Your Throne humbles itself to Your greatness,

  63. 63

    وَانْقَادَ لِلتَّسْلِيْمِ لَكَ كُلُّ خَلْقِكَ.

    and all Your creation yields to submission to You.

  64. 64

    سُبْحَانَكَ لاَ تُحَسَّ، وَلاَ تُجَسُّ، وَلاَ تُمَسُّ،

    Glory be to You, You are not perceived by sense, nor felt, nor touched,

  65. 65

    وَلاَ تُكَادُ، وَلاَ تُمَاطُ، وَلاَ تُنَازَعُ، وَلاَ تُجَارى،

    nor plotted against, nor resisted, nor contended with, nor competed with,

  66. 66

    وَلاَ تُمَارَى، وَلاَ تُخَادَعُ، وَلاَ تُمَاكَرُ.

    nor disputed, nor deceived, nor tricked.

  67. 67

    سُبْحَانَكَ سَبِيلُكَ جَدَدٌ، وَأَمْرُكَ رَشَدٌ، وَأَنْتَ حَيٌّ صَمَدٌ.

    Glory be to You, Your path is smooth, and Your command is guidance, and You are Ever-Living, Everlasting.

    سُبْحَانَكَ قَوْلُكَ حُكْمٌ، وَقَضَآؤُكَ حَتْمٌ، وَإرَادَتُكَ عَزْمٌ.

    Glory be to You, Your word is judgment, and Your decree is certain, and Your will is determination.

  69. 69

    سُبْحَانَكَ لاَ رَادَّ لِمَشِيَّتِكَ، وَلاَ مُبَدِّلَ لِكَلِمَاتِكَ.

    Glory be to You, there is no repeller of Your will, and no changer of Your words.

  70. 70

    سُبْحَانَكَ بَاهِرَ الايآتِ، فَاطِرَ السَّمَوَاتِ بَارِئ، النَّسَماتِ.

    Glory be to You, O dazzling with signs, O Creator of the heavens, O Originator of the breaths (souls).

  71. 71

    لَكَ الْحَمْدُ حَمْدَاً يَدُومُ بِدَوَامِكَ،

    To You belongs praise, a praise that endures with Your endurance,

  72. 72

    وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ حَمْداً خَالِداً بِنِعْمَتِكَ،

    and to You belongs praise, an eternal praise by Your blessing,

  73. 73

    وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ حَمْداً يُوَازِي صُنْعَكَ،

    and to You belongs praise, a praise that equals Your work,

  74. 74

    وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ حَمْداً يَزِيدُ عَلَى رِضَاكَ،

    and to You belongs praise, a praise that exceeds Your pleasure,

  75. 75

    وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ حَمْداً مَعَ حَمْدِ كُلِّ حَامِد،

    and to You belongs praise, a praise alongside the praise of every praiser,

  76. 76

    وَشُكْراً يَقْصُرُ عَنْهُ شُكْرُ كُلِّ شَاكِر،

    and thanks that the thanks of every thank-giver falls short of,

  77. 77

    حَمْداً لاَ يَنْبَغِي إلاَّ لَكَ،

    a praise that is not fitting except for You,

  78. 78

    وَلاَ يُتَقَرَّبُ بِهِ إلاَّ إلَيْكَ،

    and by which closeness is not sought except with You,

  79. 79

    حَمْداً يُسْتَدَامُ بِهِ الاَوَّلُ،

    a praise by which the first [blessing] is sustained,

  80. 80

    وَيُسْتَدْعَى بِهِ دَوَامُ الاخِرِ،

    and by which the permanence of the last [blessing] is sought,

  81. 81

    حَمْداً يَتَضَاعَفُ عَلَى كُرُورِ الاَزْمِنَةِ،

    a praise that is multiplied through the repetition of ages,

  82. 82

    وَيَتَزَايَدُ أَضْعَافَاً مُتَرَادِفَةً،

    and increases in successive multiples,

  83. 83

    حَمْداً يَعْجِزُ عَنْ إحْصَآئِهِ الْحَفَظَةُ،

    a praise that the guardian angels are incapable of counting,

  84. 84

    وَيَزِيدُ عَلَى مَا أَحْصَتْهُ فِي كِتابِكَ الْكَتَبَةُ،

    and exceeds what the scribes have counted in Your Book,

  85. 85

    حَمْداً يُوازِنُ عَرْشَكَ المَجِيْدَ،

    a praise that balances Your Glorious Throne,

  86. 86

    وَيُعَادِلُ كُرْسِيَّكَ الرَّفِيعَ،

    and equals Your Exalted Footstool,

  87. 87

    حَمْداً يَكْمُلُ لَدَيْكَ ثَوَابُهُ،

    a praise whose reward is completed with You,

  88. 88

    وَيَسْتَغْرِقُ كُلَّ جَزَآء جَزَآؤُهُ،

    and whose recompense includes every reward,

  89. 89

    حَمْداً ظَاهِرُهُ وَفْقٌ لِبَاطِنِهِ،

    a praise whose outward is in accord with its inward,

  90. 90

    وَبَاطِنُهُ وَفْقٌ لِصِدْقِ النِّيَّةِِ،

    and whose inward is in accord with the sincerity of intention,

  91. 91

    حَمْداً لَمْ يَحْمَدْكَ خَلْقٌ مِثْلَهُ،

    a praise like which no creature has praised You,

  92. 92

    وَلاَ يَعْرِفُ أَحَدٌ سِوَاكَ فَضْلَهُ،

    and whose merit no one knows except You,

  93. 93

    حَمْداً يُعَانُ مَنِ اجْتَهَدَ فِي تَعْدِيْدِهِ،

    a praise by which one who strives to count it is assisted,

  94. 94

    وَيُؤَيَّدُ مَنْ أَغْرَقَ نَزْعَاً فِي تَوْفِيَتِهِ،

    and one who plunges deeply to fulfill it is supported,

  95. 95

    حَمْداً يَجْمَعُ مَا خَلَقْتَ مِنَ الْحَمْدِ،

    a praise that gathers what You have created of praise,

  96. 96

    وَيَنْتَظِمُ مَا أَنْتَ خَالِقُهُ مِنْ بَعْدُ،

    and arranges what You are to create after,

  97. 97

    حَمْداً لاَ حَمْدَ أَقْرَبُ إلَى قَوْلِكَ مِنْهُ،

    a praise no praise is nearer to Your saying than it,

  98. 98

    وَلاَ أَحْمَدَ مِمَّنْ يَحْمَدُكَ بِهِ،

    and no one is more worthy of praise than him who praises You with it,

  99. 99

    حَمْداً يُوجِبُ بِكَرَمِكَ الْمَزِيدَ بِوُفُورِهِ

    a praise that necessitates the increase by Your generosity through its abundance,

    وَتَصِلُهُ بِمَزِيْد بَعْدَ مَزِيْد طَوْلاً مِنْكَ،

    and which You join with increase upon increase, as a favor from You.

    the Honored, the Brought Near, with the best of Your blessings,

    wa-bārik ‘alayhi atamma barakātik,

    and bless him with the most perfect of Your blessings,

    wa-taraḥḥam ‘alayhi amta‘a raḥamātik.

    and have mercy upon him with the most enjoyable of Your mercies.

    Rabbi ṣalli ‘alā Muḥammad wa ālih, ṣalātan zākiyah,

    My Lord, bless Muḥammad and his Household, a pure blessing,

    lā takūnu ṣalātun azkā minhā,

  109. 109

    than which there is no purer blessing,

    wa-ṣalli ‘alayhi ṣalātan nāmiyah,

  110. 110

    and bless him with an increasing blessing,

    lā takūnu ṣalātun anmā minhā,

  111. 111

    than which there is no more increasing blessing,

    wa-ṣalli ‘alayhi ṣalātan rāḍiyah,

  112. 112

    and bless him with a pleasing blessing,

    lā takūnu ṣalātun fawqahā.

    above which there is no blessing.

    Rabbi ṣalli ‘alā Muḥammad wa ālih,

    My Lord, bless Muḥammad and his Household,

    ṣalātan turḍīhi wa-tazīdu ‘alā riḍāh,

    a blessing that satisfies him and exceeds his satisfaction,

    wa-ṣalli ‘alayhi ṣalātan turḍīka wa-tazīdu ‘alā riḍāk lah,

  116. 116

    and bless him with a blessing that satisfies You and exceeds Your satisfaction with him,

    wa-ṣalli ‘alayhi ṣalātan lā tarḍā lahū illā bihā,

  117. 117

    and bless him with a blessing with which You are not satisfied for him except by it,

    wa-lā tarā ghayrahū lahā ahlā.

  118. 118

    and You do not see anyone other than him worthy of it.

    Rabbi ṣalli ‘alā Muḥammad wa ālih,

    My Lord, bless Muḥammad and his Household,

    ṣalātan tujāwizu riḍwānak, wa-yattaṣilu ittiṣāluhā bi-baqā’ik,

    a blessing that surpasses Your pleasure, and whose connection is joined to Your permanence,

    wa-lā yanfadu ka-mā lā tanfadu kalimātuk.

    and does not run out just as Your words do not run out.

    Rabbi ṣalli ‘alā Muḥammad wa ālih

  122. 122

    My Lord, bless Muḥammad and his Household,

    wa-ālihi ṣalātan tantaẓimu ṣalawāti malā’ikatik

  123. 123

    a blessing that incorporates the blessings of Your angels

    wa-anbiyā’ika wa-rusulik wa-ahli ṭā‘atik.

  124. 124

    and Your prophets and Your messengers and the people of Your obedience.

    Wa-tashtamilu ‘alā ṣalawāti ‘ibādik

  125. 125

    And it includes the blessings of Your servants,

    min jinnik wa-insik wa-ahli ijābatik,

  126. 126

    from Your jinn and Your humankind and the people who respond to You,

    wa-tajtami‘u ‘alā ṣalāti kulli man dhara’ta wa-bara’ta min aṣnāfi khalqik.

    and it collects the blessing of everyone You scattered and created from the varieties of Your creation.

    Rabbi ṣalli ‘alayhi wa-ālih

    My Lord, bless him and his Household,

    ṣalātan tuḥīṭu bi-kulli ṣalātin sālifah wa-musta’nafah,

    a blessing that encompasses every past and renewed blessing,

    wa-ṣalli ‘alayhi wa-‘alā ālih

  130. 130

    and bless him and his Household,

    ṣalātan marḍīyyatan lak wa-li-man dūnak,

  131. 131

    a blessing that is pleasing to You and to those beneath You,

    wa-tunshi’u ma‘a dhālika ṣalawātin tuḍā‘ifu ma‘ahā tilka aṣ-ṣalawāt ‘indahā,

  132. 132

    and which creates, along with that, blessings that You multiply those blessings with, near it,

    wa-tazīduhā ‘alā kurūri al-ayyām ziyādah

  133. 133

    and You increase them upon the repetition of days, an increase

    fī taḍā‘īfa lā ya‘udduhā ghayruk.

    in multiples that none but You can count.

    Rabbi ṣalli ‘alā aṭā’ibi ahli baytih

  135. 135

    My Lord, bless the purest of his Household,

    alladhīna ikhtartahum li-amrik,

  136. 136

    whom You chose for Your command,

    wa-ja‘altahum khazanata ‘ilmik, wa-ḥafaẓata dīnik,

  137. 137

    and made them the treasurers of Your knowledge, the protectors of Your religion,

    wa-khulafā’aka fī arḍik, wa-ḥujajaka ‘alā ‘ibādik,

  138. 138

    and Your vicegerents on Your earth, and Your proofs over Your servants,

    wa-ṭahhartahum min al-rijsi wa-d-danasi taṭhīran bi-irādatik,

  139. 139

    and purified them from abomination and filth, a purification by Your will,

    wa-ja‘altahum al-wasīlata ilayk wa-l-maslaka ilā jannatik,

  140. 140

    and made them the means to You and the path to Your Paradise.

    Rabbi ṣalli ‘alā Muḥammad wa ālih

  141. 141

    My Lord, bless Muḥammad and his Household,

    ṣalātan tujzilu lahum bihā min niḥalik wa-karāmatik,

  142. 142

    a blessing by which You make great for them from Your gifts and Your generosity,

    wa-tukmilu lahumu al-ashyā’a min ‘aṭāyāk wa-nawāfilik,

  143. 143

    and You complete for them things from Your bestowals and Your supererogatory gifts,

    wa-tuwaffiru ‘alayhim al-ḥaẓẓ min ‘awā’idik wa-fawā’idik.

    and You make plentiful for them the portion from Your customary gifts and Your benefits.

    Rabbi ṣalli ‘alayhi wa-‘alayhim ṣalātan lā amada fī awwalihā,

    My Lord, bless him and them, a blessing whose beginning has no term,

    wa-lā ghāyata li-amadihā, wa-lā nihāyata li-ākhirihā.

    and whose term has no limit, and whose end has no termination.

    Rabbi ṣalli ‘alayhim zinata ‘arshik wa-mā dūnah,

  147. 147

    My Lord, bless them the weight of Your Throne and what is beneath it,

    wa-mil’a samāwātik wa-mā fawqahunn,

  148. 148

    and the fullness of Your heavens and what is above them,

    wa-‘adada araḍīk, wa-mā taḥtahunna, wa-mā baynahunn,

  149. 149

    and the number of Your earths, and what is beneath them, and what is between them,

    ṣalātan tuqarribuhum minka zulfā wa-takūnu lak wa-lahum riḍā,

  150. 150

    a blessing that brings them near to You with proximity, and is a pleasure for You and for them,

    wa-muttaṣilatun bi-naẓā’irihinn abadan.

    and is connected to their likes forever.

    Allāhumma innaka ayyadta dīnak fī kulli awān

  152. 152

    O God, surely You have supported Your religion in every age

    bi-imāmin aqamtahū ‘alaman li-‘ibādik wa-manāran fī bilādik,

  153. 153

    with an Imam whom You set up as a standard for Your servants and a lighthouse in Your lands,

    ba‘da an waṣalta ḥablahū bi-ḥablik,

  154. 154

    after You connected his rope to Your rope,

    wa-ja‘altahū adh-dharī‘ata ilā riḍwānik,

  155. 155

    and made him the means to Your pleasure,

    wa-ftarḍta ṭā‘atahū, wa-ḥadhdharta ma‘ṣiyatahū,

  156. 156

    and made his obedience obligatory, and warned against disobeying him,

    wa-amarta bi-m-tithāli awāmirih wa-l-intihā’i ‘inda nahyih,

  157. 157

    and commanded the compliance with his orders and the stopping at his prohibition,

    wa-allā yataqaddamahu mutaqaddimun, wa-lā yata’akhkhara ‘anhu muta’akhkhirun,

  158. 158

    and that no one should precede him, and no one should lag behind him,

    fa-huwa ‘iṣmatu al-lā’idhīn,

    so he is the protection of those who seek refuge,

    wa-kahfu l-mu’minīn, wa-‘urwatu l-mutamassikīn, wa-bahā’u l-‘ālamīn.

    and the cave of the believers, and the handle of those who hold fast, and the splendor of the worlds.

    Allāhumma fa-awzi‘ li-walīyyika shukra mā an‘amta bihī ‘alayh,

    O God, inspire Your vicegerent to thank You for what You have bestowed upon him,

    wa-awzi‘nā mithlahū fīh, wa-ātihī min ladunka sulṭānan naṣīrā,

    and inspire us with the like of it in respect to him, and grant him from Your Presence an aiding authority,

    wa-ftaḥ lahū fatḥan yasīrā, wa-a‘inhu bi-ruknika al-a‘azz,

    and open for him an easy opening, and assist him with Your most mighty pillar,

    wa-shdud azrah, wa-qawwi ‘aḍudah, wa-rā‘ihī bi-‘aynik,

  164. 164

    and strengthen his back, and fortify his arm, and guard him with Your eye,

    wa-ḥmihī bi-ḥifẓik, wa-nṣurhu bi-malā’ikatik,

  165. 165

    and protect him with Your preservation, and help him with Your angels,

    wa-muddahū bi-jundika l-aghlab wa-aqim bihī kitābak wa-ḥudūdak,

  166. 166

    and extend him with Your most dominant army, and establish with him Your Book and Your limits,

    wa-sharā’i‘ak wa-sunana rasūlik ṣalawātuka Allāhumma ‘alayhi wa-ālih,

  167. 167

    and Your laws and the traditions of Your Messenger (Your blessings, O God, be upon him and his Household),

    wa-aḥyi bihī mā amātahu aẓ-ẓālimūn min ma‘ālim dīnik,

  168. 168

    and revive with him what the wrongdoers have deadened of the landmarks of Your religion,

    wa-jlu bihī ṣadā’a l-jawri ‘an ṭarīqatik,

  169. 169

    and scour away with him the rust of injustice from Your path,

    wa-abin bihī aḍ-ḍarrā’a min sabīlik,

  170. 170

    and remove with him the affliction from Your road,

    wa-azil bihī an-nākibīn ‘an ṣirāṭik,

  171. 171

    and eliminate with him those who turn aside from Your Straight Path,

    wa-mḥaq bihī bughāta qaṣdik ‘iwajān,

  172. 172

    and annihilate with him those who unjustly seek deviation from Your aim,

    wa-alin jānibahū li-awliyā’ik, wa-bsuṭ yadahū ‘alā a‘dā’ik,

  173. 173

    and soften his side for Your friends, and stretch forth his hand against Your enemies,

    wa-hab lanā ra’fatahū wa-raḥmatahū wa-ta‘aṭṭufahū wa-taḥannunah,

  174. 174

    and grant us his tenderness, his mercy, his kindness, and his affection,

    wa-j‘alnā lahū sāmi‘īna muṭī‘īn, wa-fī riḍāhu sā‘īn,

  175. 175

    and make us listeners to him, obedient, striving in his satisfaction,

    wa-ilā nuṣratihī wa-l-mudāfa‘ati ‘anhu muknifīn,

  176. 176

    and helping towards his support and the defense of him,

    wa-ilayk wa-ilā rasūlik ṣalawātuk

  177. 177

    and approaching You and Your Messenger (Your blessings,

    Allāhumma ‘alayhi wa-ālihi bi-dhālika mutaqarrabīn.

  178. 178

    O God, be upon him and his Household) by that.

    Allāhumma wa-ṣalli ‘alā awliyā’ihimu al-mu‘tarifīn bi-maqāmihim,

  179. 179

    O God, bless their friends who acknowledge their position,

    al-muttabi‘īn manhajahum, al-muqtafīn āthārahum,

  180. 180

    follow their method, pursue their footsteps,

    al-mustamsikīn bi-‘urwatihim, al-mutamassikīn bi-wilāyatihim,

  181. 181

    hold fast to their handle, cling to their authority,

    al-mu’tammīn bi-imāmatihim, al-musallimīn li-amrihim

  182. 182

    take their Imamate as their Imams, submit to their command,

    al-mujtahidīn fī ṭā‘atihim, al-muntaẓirīn ayyāmahum,

  183. 183

    strive in their obedience, await their days,

    al-māddīn ilayhim a‘yunahum,

  184. 184

    stretch forth their eyes towards them,

    aṣ-ṣalawāti al-mubārakāti az-zākiyāti an-nāmiyāti al-ghādiyāti, ar-rā’iḥāt.

  185. 185

    with blessings, blessed, pure, increasing, going forth in the morning, and returning in the evening.

    Wa-sallim ‘alayhim wa-‘alā arwāḥihim,

    And grant peace upon them and upon their souls,

    wa-jma‘ ‘alā t-taqwā amrahum,

  187. 187

    and gather their command upon fear of You,

    wa-aṣliḥ lahum shu’ūnahum,

  188. 188

    and mend their affairs for them,

    wa-tub ‘alayhim

  189. 189

    and turn to them in forgiveness,

    innaka Anta t-Tawwābu r-Raḥīmu wa-khayru l-ghāfirīn,

  190. 190

    surely You are the Forgiving, the Merciful, and the best of the forgivers,

    wa-j‘alnā ma‘ahum fī dāri s-salām bi-raḥmatik yā Arḥama r-rāḥimīn.

    and place us with them in the Abode of Peace, by Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful.

    Allāhumma hādhā yawmu ‘Arafah,

    O God, this is the Day of ‘Arafah,

    yawmun sharraftahū wa-karramtahū wa-‘aẓẓamtah, nasharta fīhi raḥmatak,

  193. 193

    a day You have honored, ennobled, and magnified, in which You have spread Your mercy,

    wa-mananta fīhi bi-‘afwik wa-ajzalta fīhi ‘aṭīyyatak,

  194. 194

    and conferred therein Your pardon and made great therein Your gift,

    wa-tafaḍḍalta bihī ‘alā ‘ibādik.

    and favored with it Your servants.

    Allāhumma wa-anā ‘abduka alladhī an‘amta ‘alayhi qabla khalqika lah, wa-ba‘da khalqika iyyāh,

    O God, I am Your servant whom You blessed before Your creation of him, and after Your creation of him,

    fa-ja‘altahū mimman hadaytahū li-dīnik,

    and You made him among those whom You guided to Your religion,

    wa-waffaqtahū li-ḥaqqik, wa-‘aṣamtahū bi-ḥablik,

    and directed him to Your truth, and protected him with Your rope,

    wa-adkhaltahū fī ḥizbik, wa-arshadtahū li-muwālāti awliyā’ik,

    and admitted him into Your party, and guided him to the loyalty to Your friends,

    wa-mu‘ādāti a‘dā’ik, thumma amartahū fa-lam ya’tamir,

    and the enmity toward Your enemies, then You commanded him, but he did not comply,

    wa-zajartahū fa-lam yanzajir, wa-nahaytahū ‘an ma‘ṣiyatik fa-khālafa amrak ilā nahyik,

    and You restrained him, but he was not restrained, and You forbade him from disobeying You, but he contravened Your command for Your prohibition,

    lā mu‘ānadatan lak wa-lā istikbāran ‘alayk,

    not out of defiance to You nor arrogance toward You,

    بَلْ دَعَاهُ هَوَاهُ إلَى مَا زَيَّلْتَهُ، وَإلَى مَا حَذَّرْتَهُ،

    bal da‘āhu hawāhu ilā mā zayaltah, wa-ilā mā ḥadhdhartah,

    وَأَعَانَهُ عَلَى ذالِكَ عَدُوُّكَ وَعَدُوُّهُ،

    wa-a‘ānahū ‘alā dhālik ‘aduwwuk wa-‘aduwwuh,

    فَأَقْدَمَ عَلَيْهِ عَارِفاً بِوَعِيْدِكَ، رَاجِياً لِعَفْوِكَ،

    fa-aqdama ‘alayhi ‘ārifan bi-wa‘īdika, rājiyan li-‘afwik,

    وَاثِقاً بِتَجَاوُزِكَ، وَكَانَ أَحَقَّ عِبَادِكَ ـ

    wāthiqan bi-tajāwuzik, wa-kāna aḥaqqa ‘ibādik —

    مَعَ مَا مَنَنْتَ عَلَيْهِ ـ أَلاَّ يَفْعَلَ،

    ma‘a mā mananta ‘alayhi — allā yaf‘al,

    وَهَا أَنَا ذَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ صَاغِراً،

    wa-hā anā dhā bayna yadayka ṣāghiran,

    ذَلِيلاً، خَاضِعَاً، خَاشِعاً، خَائِفَاً،

  209. 209

    dhalīlan, khāḍi‘an, khāshi‘an, khā’ifan,

    مُعْتَرِفاً بِعَظِيم مِنَ الذُّنُوبِ تَحَمَّلْتُهُ،

  210. 210

    mu‘tarifan bi-‘aẓīmin min adh-dhunūbi taḥammaltuh,

    وَجَلِيْل مِنَ الْخَطَايَا اجْتَرَمْتُهُ،

  211. 211

    wa-jalīlin min al-khaṭāyā ijtaramtuh,

    مُسْتَجِيراً بِصَفْحِكَ، لائِذاً بِرَحْمَتِكَ،

  212. 212

    mustajīran bi-ṣafḥik, lā’idhan bi-raḥmatik,

    مُوقِناً أَنَّهُ لاَ يُجِيرُنِي مِنْكَ مُجِيرٌ،

  213. 213

    mūqinan annahū lā yujīrunī minka mujīr,

    وَلاَ يَمْنَعُنِي مِنْكَ مَانِعٌ .

  214. 214

    wa-lā yamna‘unī minka māni‘.

    فَعُدْ عَلَيَّ بِمَا تَعُودُ بِهِ عَلَى مَنِ اقْتَرَفَ مِنْ تَغَمُّدِكَ،

    Fa-‘ud ‘alayya bi-mā ta‘ūdu bihī ‘alā mani iqtaraf min taghammudik,

    وَجُدْ عَلَيَّ بِمَا تَجُودُ بِهِ عَلَى مَنْ أَلْقَى بِيَدِهِ إلَيْكَ مِنْ عَفْوِكَ،

    wa-jud ‘alayya bi-mā tajūdu bihī ‘alā man alqā bi-yadihī ilayk min ‘afwik,

    وَامْنُنْ عَلَيَّ بِمَا لاَ يَتَعَاظَمُكَ

    wa-mnun ‘alayya bi-mā lā yata‘āẓamuk

    أَنْ تَمُنَّ بِهِ عَلَى مَنْ أَمَّلَكَ مِنْ غُفْرَانِكَ،

  218. 218

    an tamunna bihī ‘alā man ammalak min ghufrānik,

    وَاجْعَلْ لِي فِي هَذَا الْيَوْمِ نَصِيباً أَنَالُ بِهِ حَظّاً مِنْ رِضْوَانِكَ،

    wa-j‘al lī fī hādhā l-yawm naṣīban anālu bihī ḥaẓẓan min riḍwānik,

    وَلاَ تَرُدَّنِي صِفْراً مِمَّا يَنْقَلِبُ بِهِ الْمُتَعَبِّدُونَ لَكَ مِنْ عِبَادِكَ،

    wa-lā taruddanī ṣifran mimmā yanqalibu bihī l-muta‘abbidūna lak min ‘ibādik,

    وَإنِّي وَإنْ لَمْ أُقَدِّمْ مَا قَدَّمُوهُ مِنَ الصَّالِحَاتِ،

    wa-innī wa-in lam uqaddim mā qaddamūhu min aṣ-ṣāliḥāt,

    فَقَد قَدَّمْتُ تَوْحِيدَكَ،

    fa-qad qaddamtu tawḥīdak,

    وَنَفْيَ الاَضْدَادِ وَالاَنْدَادِ وَالاشْبَاهِ عَنْكَ،

    wa-nafya al-aḍdād wa-l-andād wa-l-ashbāh ‘ank,

    وَأَتَيْتُكَ مِنَ الاَبْوَابِ الَّتِي أَمَرْتَ أَنْ تُؤْتى مِنْها،

    wa-ataytuka min al-abwāb allatī amarta an tu’tā minhā,

    وَتَقَرَّبْتُ إلَيْكَ بِمَا لاَ يَقْرُبُ ،

  225. 225

    wa-taqarrabtu ilayk bi-mā lā yaqrub,

    أَحَدٌ مِنْكَ إلاَّ بِالتَّقَرُّبِ بِهِ

  226. 226

    aḥadun minka illā bi-t-taqarrubi bihī

    ثُمَّ أَتْبَعْتُ ذلِكَ بِالاِنابَةِ إلَيْكَ،

  227. 227

    thumma atba‘tu dhālik bi-l-inābati ilayk,

    وَالتَّذَلُّلِ وَالاسْتِكَانَةِ لَكَ، وَحُسْنِ الظَّنِّ بِكَ، وَالثِّقَةِ بِمَا عِنْدَكَ،

    wa-t-tadhallul wa-l-istikānati lak, wa-ḥusniẓ-ẓanni bik, wa-th-thiqati bi-mā ‘indak,

    وَشَفَعْتُهُ بِرَجآئِكَ

    wa-shaffa‘tuhū bi-rajā’ik

    الَّذِي قَلَّ مَا يَخِيبُ عَلَيْهِ رَاجِيْكَ،

  230. 230

    alladhī qalla mā yakhību ‘alayhi rājīk,

    وَسَأَلْتُكَ مَسْأَلَةَ الْحَقِيرِ الذّلِيلِ

  231. 231

    wa-sa’altuka mas’alata l-ḥaqīri dh-dhalīl

    الْبَائِسِ الْفَقِيْرِ الْخَائِفِ الْمُسْتَجِيرِ،

  232. 232

    al-bā’isi l-faqīri l-khā’ifi l-mustajīr,

    وَمَعَ ذَلِكَ خِيفَةً وَتَضَرُّعاً وَتَعَوُّذاً وَتَلَوُّذاً،

  233. 233

    wa-ma‘a dhālik khīfatan wa-taḍarru‘an wa-ta‘awwudhan wa-talawwudhan,

    لاَ مُسْتَطِيلاً بِتَكبُّرِ الْمُتَكَبِّرِينَ،

    lā mustaṭīlan bi-takabburi l-mutakabbirīn,

    وَلاَ مُتَعَالِياً بِدالَّةِ الْمُطِيعِينَ،

  235. 235

    wa-lā muta‘āliyan bi-dāllati l-muṭī‘īn,

    وَلاَ مُسْتَطِيلاً بِشَفَاعَةِ الشَّافِعِينَ،

  236. 236

    wa-lā mustaṭīlan bi-shafā‘ati sh-shāfi‘īn,

    وَأَنَا بَعْدُ أَقَلُّ الاَقَلِّيْنَ، وَأَذَلُّ الاَذَلِّينَ،

  237. 237

    wa-anā ba‘du aqallu l-aqallīn, wa-adhallu l-adhallīn,

    وَمِثْلُ الذَّرَّةِ أَوْ دُونَهَا.

  238. 238

    wa-mithlu dh-dharrati aw dūnahā.

    فَيَا مَنْ لَمْ يَعَاجِلِ الْمُسِيئِينَ، وَلاَ يَنْدَهُ الْمُتْرَفِينَ،

  239. 239

    Fa-yā man lam yu‘ājili l-musī’īn, wa-lā yandahu l-mutrafīn,

    وَيَا مَنْ يَمُنُّ بِإقَالَةِ الْعَاثِرِينَ، وَيَتَفَضَّلُ بإنْظَارِ الْخَاطِئِينَ،

    wa-yā man yamunnu bi-iqālati l-‘āthirīn, wa-yatafaḍḍalu bi-inẓāri l-khāṭi’īn,

    أَنَا الْمُسِيءُ الْمُعْتَرِفُ الْخَاطِئُ الْعَاثِرُ،

    anā l-musī’u l-mu‘tarif al-khāṭi’u l-‘āthir,

    أَنَا الَّذِيْ أَقْدَمَ عَلَيْكَ مُجْتَرِئاً،

  242. 242

    anā alladhī aqdama ‘alayka mujtari’an,

    أَنَا الَّذِي عَصَاكَ مُتَعَمِّداً،

  243. 243

    anā alladhī ‘aṣāk muta‘ammidan,

    أَنَا الَّذِي اسْتَخْفى مِنْ عِبَادِكَ وَبَارَزَكَ،

  244. 244

    anā alladhī stakhfā min ‘ibādik wa-bārazak,

    أَنَا الَّذِي هَابَ عِبَادَكَ وَأَمِنَكَ

    anā alladhī hāba ‘ibādak wa-aminak

    أَنَا الَّذِي لَمْ يَرْهَبْ سَطْوَتَكَ وَلَمْ يَخَفْ بَأْسَكَ

    anā alladhī lam yarhab saṭwatak wa-lam yakhaf ba’sak

    أَنَا الْجَانِي عَلَى نَفْسِهِ، أَنَا الْمُرْتَهَنُ بِبَلِيَّتِهِ،

    anā l-jānī ‘alā nafsih, anā l-murtaḥanu bi-balīyyatih,

    الْقَلِيلُ الْحَيَاءِ، أَنَا الطَّوِيلُ الْعَنآءِ،

    al-qalīlu l-ḥayā’, anā ṭ-ṭawīlu l-‘anā’.

    بِحَقِّ مَنِ انْتَجَبْتَ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ،

  249. 249

    Bi-ḥaqqi mani ntajabta min khalqik,

    وَبِمَنِ اصْطَفَيْتَهُ لِنَفْسِكَ،

    wa-bi-mani iṣṭafaytahū li-nafsik,

    بِحَقِّ مَنِ اخْتَرْتَ مِنْ بَريَّتِكَ، وَمَنِ اجْتَبَيْتَ لِشَأْنِكَ،

    bi-ḥaqqi mani khtarta min barīyyatik, wa-mani jtabayta li-sha’nik,

    بِحَقِّ مَن وَصَلْتَ طَاعَتَهُ بِطَاعَتِكَ،

    bi-ḥaqqi man waṣalta ṭā‘atahū bi-ṭā‘atik,

    وَمَنْ جَعَلْتَ مَعْصِيَتَهُ كَمَعْصِيَتِكَ

    wa-man ja‘alta ma‘ṣiyatahū ka-ma‘ṣiyatik

    بِحَقِّ مَن قَرَنْتَ مُوَالاَتَهُ بِمُوالاتِكَ،

    bi-ḥaqqi man qaranta muwālāatahū bi-muwālātik,

    وَمَنْ نُطْتَ مُعَادَاتَهُ بِمُعَادَاتِكَ.

    wa-man nuṭta mu‘ādātahū bi-mu‘ādātik.

    تَغَمَّدْنِي فِي يَوْمِيَ هَذَا بِمَا تَتَغَمَّدُ بِهِ مَنْ جَارَ إلَيْكَ مُتَنَصِّلاً،

    Taghammadnī fī yawmiya hādhā bi-mā tataghammadu bihī man jāra ilayk mutanaṣṣilan,

    وَعَاذَ بِاسْتِغْفَارِكَ تَائِباً،

    wa-‘ādha bi-stighfārika tā’iban,

    وَتَوَلَّنِي بِمَا تَتَوَلَّى بِهِ أَهْلَ طَاعَتِكَ،

  258. 258

    wa-tawallanī bi-mā tatawallā bihī ahla ṭā‘atik,

    وَالزُّلْفَى لَدَيْكَ، وَالْمَكَانَةِ مِنْكَ،

    wa-z-zulfā ladayk, wa-l-makānati mink,

    وَتَوَحَّدْنِي بِمَا تَتَوَحَّدُ بِهِ مَنْ وَفى بِعَهْدِكَ،

    wa-tawaḥḥadnī bi-mā tatawaḥḥadu bihī man wafā bi-‘ahdik,

    وَأَتْعَبَ نَفْسَهُ فِيْ ذَاتِكَ، وَأَجْهَدَهَا فِي مَرْضَاتِكَ،

    wa-at‘aba nafsahū fī dhātik, wa-ajhadahā fī marḍātik,

    وَلاَ تُؤَاخِذْنِي بِتَفْرِيطِيْ فِي جَنْبِكَ،

  262. 262

    wa-lā tu’ākhidhnī bi-tafrīṭī fī janbik,

    وَتَعَدِّي طَوْرِيْ فِي حُدودِكَ، وَمُجَاوَزَةِ أَحْكَامِكَ.

    wa-ta‘addī ṭawrī fī ḥudūdik, wa-mujāwazati aḥkāmik.

    وَلاَ تَسْتَدْرِجْنِي بِإمْلائِكَ لِي

    Wa-lā tastadrijnī bi-imlā’ik lī

    اسْتِدْرَاجَ مَنْ مَنَعَنِي خَيْرَ مَا عِنْدَهُ،

  265. 265

    istidrāja man mana‘anī khayra mā ‘indah,

    وَلَمْ يَشْرَكْكَ فِي حُلُولِ نِعْمَتِهِ بِي،

  266. 266

    wa-lam yushrikka fī ḥulūli ni‘matihī bī,

    وَنَبِّهْنِي مِنْ رَقْدَةِ الْغَافِلِينَ،

  267. 267

    wa-nabbihnī min raqdat-i l-ghāfilīn,

    وَسِنَةِ الْمُسْرِفِينَ، وَنَعْسَةِ الْمَخْذُولِينَ.

    wa-sinati l-musrifīn, wa-na‘sati l-makhdhūlīn.

    وَخُذْ بِقَلْبِي إلَى مَا اسْتَعْمَلْتَ بِهِ القَانِتِيْنَ،

    Wa-khudh bi-qalbī ilā mā sta‘malta bihī l-qānitīn,

    وَاسْتَعْبَدْتَ بِهِ الْمُتَعَبِّدِينَ، وَاسْتَنْقَذْتَ بِهِ الْمُتَهَاوِنِينَ،

    wa-sta‘badta bihī l-muta‘abbidīn, wa-stanqadhta bihī l-mutahāwinīn,

    وَأَعِذْنِي مِمَّا يُبَاعِدُنِي عَنْكَ،

    wa-a‘idhnī mimmā yubā‘idunī ‘ank,

    وَيَحُولُ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ حَظِّي مِنْكَ،

    wa-yaḥūlu baynī wa-bayna ḥaẓẓī mink,

    وَيَصُدُّنِي عَمَّا أُحَاوِلُ لَدَيْكَ.

    wa-yaṣuddunī ‘ammā uḥāwilu ladayk.

    وَسَهِّلْ لِي مَسْلَكَ الْخَيْرَاتِ إلَيْكَ،

    Wa-sahhil lī maslaka l-khayrāt ilayk,

    وَالْمُسَابَقَةِ إلَيْهَا مِنْ حَيْثُ أَمَرْتَ،

    wa-l-musābaqati ilayhā min ḥaythu amart,

    وَالْمُشَاحَّةَ فِيهَا عَلَى مَا أَرَدْتَ.

    wa-l-mushāḥḥata fīhā ‘alā mā aradt.

    وَلاَ تَمْحَقْنِي فِيمَنْ تَمْحَقُ مِنَ الْمُسْتَخِفِّينَ بِمَا أَوْعَدْتَ،

    Wa-lā tamḥaqnī fī-man tamḥaqu min al-mustakhiffīn bi-mā aw‘adt,

    وَلاَ تُهْلِكْنِي مَعَ مَنْ تُهْلِكُ مِنَ الْمُتَعَرِّضِينَ لِمَقْتِكَ،

    wa-lā tuhliknī ma‘a man tuhliku min al-muta‘arriḍīn li-maqtik,

    وَلاَ تُتَبِّرْني فِيمَنْ تُتَبِّرُ مِنَ الْمُنْحَرِفِينَ عَنْ سُبُلِكَ.

    wa-lā tutabbirnī fī-man tutabbiru min al-munḥarifīn ‘an subulik.

    وَنَجِّنِيْ مِنْ غَمَرَاتِ الْفِتْنَةِ،

    Wa-najjinī min ghamarāti l-fitnah,

    وَخَلِّصْنِي مِنْ لَهَوَاتِ الْبَلْوى،

    wa-khalliṣnī min lahawāti l-balwā,

    وَأَجِرْنِي مِنْ أَخْذِ الاِمْلاءِ،

  282. 282

    wa-ajirnī min akhdhi l-imlā’,

    وَحُلْ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ عَدُوٍّ يُضِلُّنِي،

    wa-ḥul baynī wa-bayna ‘aduwwin yuḍillunī,

    وَهَوىً يُوبِقُنِي، وَمَنْقَصَة تَرْهَقُنِي.

    wa-hawān yūbiqunī, wa-manqaṣatin tarhaqunī.

    وَلاَ تُعْرِضْ عَنِّي إعْرَاضَ مَنْ لاَ تَرْضَى عَنْهُ بَعْدَ غَضَبِكَ،

    Wa-lā tu‘riḍ ‘annī i‘rāḍa man lā tarḍā ‘anhu ba‘da ghaḍabik,

    وَلاَ تُؤْيِسْنِي مِنَ الامَلِ فِيكَ، فَيَغْلِبَ عَلَيَّ الْقُنُوطُ مِنْ رَحْمَتِكَ،

    wa-lā tu’yisnī min al-amal fīk, fa-yaghliba ‘alayya l-qunūṭu min raḥmatik,

    وَلاَ تَمْنَحْنِي بِمَا لاَ طَاقَةَ لِيْ بِهِ،

    wa-lā tamnaḥnī bi-mā lā ṭāqata lī bih,

    فَتَبْهَظَنِي مِمَّا تُحَمِّلُنِيهِ مِنْ فَضْلِ مَحَبَّتِكَ،

    fa-tabhaẓanī mimmā tuḥammilunīhi min faḍli maḥabbatik,

    وَلاَ تُرْسِلْنِي مِنْ يَدِكَ إرْسَالَ مَنْ لاَ خَيْرَ فِيهِ،

    wa-lā tursilnī min yadik irsāla man lā khayra fīh,

    وَلاَ حَاجَةَ بِكَ إلَيْهِ، وَلاَ إنابَةَ لَهُ،

    wa-lā ḥājata bik ilayh, wa-lā inābah lah,

    وَلاَ تَرْمِ بِيَ رَمْيَ مَنْ سَقَطَ مِنْ عَيْنِ رِعَايَتِكَ،

    wa-lā tarmi biya ramya man saqaṭa min ‘ayni ri‘āyatik,

    وَمَنِ اشْتَمَلَ عَلَيْهِ الْخِزْيُ مِنْ عِنْدِكَ،

    wa-mani shtamala ‘alayhi l-khizyu min ‘indik,

    بَلْ خُذْ بِيَدِيْ مِنْ سَقْطَةِ الْمُتَرَدِّدِينَ،

    bal khudh bi-yadī min saqṭati l-mutaraddidīn,

    وَوَهْلَةِ الْمُتَعَسِّفِيْنَ، وَزَلّةِ الْمَغْرُورِينَ، وَوَرْطَةِ الْهَالِكِينَ.

    wa-wahlati l-muta‘assifīn, wa-zallati l-maghrūrīn, wa-warṭati l-hālikīn.

    وَعَافِنِي مِمَّا ابْتَلَيْتَ بِهِ طَبَقَاتِ عَبِيدِكَ وَإمآئِكَ،

    Wa-‘āfinī mimmā btlayta bihī ṭabaqāt-i ‘abīdika wa-imā’ik,

    وَبَلِّغْنِي مَبَالِغَ مَنْ عُنِيتَ بِهِ، وَأَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِ، وَرَضِيتَ عَنْهُ،

    wa-ballighnī mabāligha man ‘unīta bih, wa-an‘amta ‘alayh, wa-raḍīta ‘anh,

    فَأَعَشْتَهُ حَمِيداً، وَتَوَفَّيْتَهُ سَعِيداً،

    fa-a‘ashtahū ḥamīdā, wa-tawaffaytahū sa‘īdā,

    وَطَوِّقْنِي طَوْقَ الاِقْلاَعِ عَمَّا يُحْبِطُ الْحَسَنَاتِ،

    wa-ṭawwiqnī ṭawqa l-iqlā‘i ‘ammā yuḥbiṭu l-ḥasanāt,

    وَيَذْهَبُ بِالْبَرَكَاتِ،

    wa-yadhhabu bi-l-barakāt,

    وَأَشْعِرْ قَلْبِيَ الازْدِجَارَ عَنْ قَبَائِحِ السَّيِّئاتِ،

    wa-ash‘ir qalbīy al-izdijāra ‘an qabā’iḥi s-sayyi’āt,

    وَفَوَاضِحِ الْحَوْبَاتِ،

    wa-fawāḍiḥi l-ḥawbāt,

    وَلاَ تَشْغَلْنِي بِمَا لاَ أُدْرِكُهُ إلاَّ بِكَ عَمَّا لا َ يُرْضِيْكَ عَنِّي غَيْرُهُ،

    wa-lā tashghalnī bi-mā lā udrikuhū illā bik ‘ammā lā yurḍīka ‘annī ghayruh,

    وَانْزَعْ مِنْ قَلْبِي حُبَّ دُنْيَا دَنِيَّة تَنْهى عَمَّا عِنْدَكَ،

    wa-nza‘ min qalbī ḥubba dunyā danīyah tanhā ‘ammā ‘indak,

    وَتَصُدُّ عَنِ ابْتِغَآءِ الْوَسِيلَةِ إلَيْكَ، وَتُذْهِلُ عَنِ التَّقَرُبِ مِنْكَ،

    wa-taṣuddu ‘ani btighā’i l-wasīlati ilayk, wa-tudhhilu ‘an it-taqarrubi mink,

    وَزَيِّنَ لِيَ التَّفَرُّدَ بِمُنَاجَاتِكَ بِاللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ،

    wa-zayyin liya t-tafarruda bi-munājātik bi-l-layli wa-n-nahār,

    وَهَبْ لِي عِصْمَةً تُدْنِينِي مِنْ خَشْيَتِكَ،

    wa-hab lī ‘iṣmatan tudnīnī min khashyatik,

    وَتَقْطَعُنِي عَنْ رُكُوبِ مَحَارِمكَ،

    wa-taqṭa‘unī ‘an rukūbi maḥārimik,

    وَتَفُكُّنِي مِنْ أَسْرِ الْعَظَائِمِ،

    wa-tafukkunī min asri l-‘aẓā’im,

    وَهَبْ لِي التَّطْهِيرَ مِنْ دَنَسِ الْعِصْيَانِ،

    wa-hab lī t-taṭhīra min danasi l-‘iṣyān,

    وَأَذْهِبْ عَنِّي دَرَنَ الْخَطَايَا،

    wa-adhhib ‘annī darana l-khaṭāyā,

    وَسَرْبِلْنِي بِسِرْبالِ عَافِيَتِكَ،

    wa-sarbilnī bi-sirbāli ‘āfiyatik,

    وَرَدِّنِي رِدَآءَ مُعَافاتِكَ،

    wa-raddinī ridā’a mu‘āfātik,

    وَجَلِّلْنِي سَوابِغَ نَعْمَائِكَ،

    wa-jallilnī sawābigha na‘mā’ik,

    وَظَاهِرْ لَدَيَّ فَضْلَكَ وَطَوْلَكَ،

    wa-ẓāhir ladayya faḍlak wa-ṭawlak,

    وَأَيْدْنِي بِتَوْفِيقِكَ وَتَسْدِيْدِكَ،

    wa-ayyidnī bi-tawfīqik wa-tasdīdika,

    وَأَعِنِّي عَلَى صَالِحِ النِّيَّةِ وَمَرْضِيِّ الْقَوْلِ وَمُسْتَحْسَنِ الْعَمَلِ.

    wa-a‘innī ‘alā ṣāliḥi n-niyyati wa-marḍīyyi l-qawl wa-mustaḥsani l-‘amal.

    وَلاَ تَكِلْنِي إلَى حَوْلِي وَقُوَّتِي دُونَ حَوْلِكَ وَقُوَّتِكَ،

    Wa-lā takilnī ilā ḥawlī wa-quwwatī dūna ḥawlika wa-quwwatik,

    وَلاَ تَخْزِنِي يَوْمَ تَبْعَثُنِي لِلِقائِكَ،

    wa-lā takhzinī yawma tab‘athunī li-liqā’ik,

    وَلاَ تَفْضَحْنِي بَيْنَ يَدَيْ أَوْلِياِئكَ،

    wa-lā tafḍaḥnī bayna yaday awliyā’ik,

    وَلاَ تُنْسِنِي ذِكْرَكَ، وَلاَ تُذْهِبْ عَنِّي شُكْرَكَ،

    wa-lā tunsīnī dhikrak, wa-lā tudhhib ‘annī shukrak,

    بَلْ أَلْزِمْنِيهِ فِي أَحْوَالِ السَّهْوِ عِنْدَ غَفَلاَتِ الْجَاهِلِينَ لاِلائِكَ،

    bal alzimnīhi fī aḥwāli s-sahw ‘inda ghafalāti l-jāhilīna li-ālā’ik,

    وَأَوْزِعْنِي أَنْ أُثْنِيَ بِمَا أَوْلَيْتَنِيهِ،

    wa-awzi‘nī an uthniya bi-mā awlaytanīh,

    وَأَعْتَرِفِ بِمَا أَسْدَيْتَهُ إلَيَّ،

    wa-a‘tarif bi-mā asdaytahū ilayy,

    وَاجْعَلْ رَغْبَتِي إلَيْكَ فَوْقَ رَغْبَةِ الْرَّاغِبِينَ،

    wa-j‘al raghbatī ilayk fawqa raghbati r-rāghibīn,

    وَحَمْدِي إيَّاكَ فَوْقَ حَمْدِ الْحَامِدِيْنَ،

    wa-ḥamdī iyyāk fawqa ḥamdi l-ḥāmidīn,

    وَلاَ تَخْذُلْنِي عِنْدَ فَاقَتِي إلَيْكَ،

    wa-lā takhdhulnī ‘inda fāqatī ilayk,

    وَلاَ تُهْلِكْنِي بِمَا أَسْدَيْتُهُ إلَيْكَ،

    wa-lā tuhliknī bi-mā asdaytuhū ilayk,

    وَلاَ تَجْبَهْنِي بِمَا جَبَهْتَ بِهِ لْمَعَانِدِينَ لَكَ،

    wa-lā tajbahnī bi-mā jabahta bihī l-mu‘ānidīn lak,

    فَإنِّي لَكَ مُسَلِّمٌ، أَعْلَمُ أَنَّ الْحُجَّةَ لَكَ،

    fa-innī lak musallimun, a‘lamu anna l-ḥujjat lak,

    وَأَنَّكَ أَوْلَى بِالْفَضْلِ، وَأَعْوَدُ بِالاحْسَانِ،

    wa-annaka awlā bi-l-faḍl, wa-a‘wadu bi-l-iḥsān,

    وَأَهْلُ التَّقْوَى، وَأَهْلُ الْمَغْفِرَةِ،

    wa-ahlu t-taqwā, wa-ahlu l-maghfirah,

    وَأَنَّكَ بِأَنْ تَعْفُوَ أَوْلَى مِنْكَ بِأَنْ تُعَاقِبَ،

    wa-annaka bi-an ta‘fuwa awlā minka bi-an tu‘āqib,

    وَأَنَّكَ بِأَنْ تَسْتُرَ أَقْرَبُ مِنْكَ إلَى أنْ تَشْهَرَ،

    wa-annaka bi-an tastura aqrabu minka ilā an tashhar,

    فَأَحْيِنِي حَياةً طَيِّبَةً تَنْتَظِمُ بِما أُرِيدُ

    fa-aḥyinī ḥayātan ṭayyibatan tantaẓimu bi-mā urīd

    وَتَبْلُغُ مَا أُحِبُّ مِنْ حَيْثُ لاَ آتِي مَا تَكْرَهُ

    wa-tablughu mā uḥibb min ḥaythu lā ātī mā takrah

    وَلاَ أَرْتَكِبُ مَا نَهَيْتَ عَنْهُ،

    wa-lā artakibu mā nahayta ‘anh,

    وَأَمِتْنِي مِيْتَةَ مَنْ يَسْعَى نُورُهُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ، وَعَنْ يِمِيِنهِ،

    wa-amitnī mītata man yas‘ā nūruhū bayna yadayhi, wa-‘an yamīnih,

    وَذَلِّلْنِي بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ، وَأَعِزَّنِيْ عِنْدَ خَلْقِكَ،

    wa-dhallilnī bayna yadayk, wa-a‘izzanī ‘inda khalqik,

    وَضَعْنِي إذَا خَلَوْتُ بِكَ، وَارْفَعْنِي بَيْنَ عِبادِكَ،

    wa-ḍa‘nī idhā khalaftu bik, wa-rfa‘nī bayna ‘ibādik,

    وَأَغْنِنِي عَمَّنْ هُوَ غَنِيٌّ عَنِّي،

    wa-aghninī ‘amman huwa ghaniyyun ‘annī,

    وَزِدْنِي إلَيْكَ فَاقَةً وَفَقْراً،

    wa-zidnī ilayk fāqatan wa-faqrā,

    وَأَعِذْنِي مِنْ شَمَاتَةِ الاَعْدَاءِ،

    wa-a‘idhnī min shamātati l-a‘dā’,

    وَمِنْ حُلُولِ الْبَلاءِ، وَمِنَ الذُّلِّ وَالْعَنَآءِ،

    wa-min ḥulūli l-balā’, wa-min adh-dhull wa-l-‘anā’.

    تَغَمَّدني فِيمَا اطَّلَعْتَ عَلَيْهِ مِنِّي

    Taghammadnī fīmā iṭṭala‘ta ‘alayhi minnī

    بِمَا يَتَغَمَّدُ بِهِ الْقَادِرُ عَلَى الْبَطْشِ لَوْلاَ حِلْمُهُ،

    bi-mā yataghammadu bihī l-qādiru ‘alā l-baṭsh lawlā ḥilmuh,

    وَالاخِذُ عَلَى الْجَرِيرَةِ لَوْلاَ أَناتُهُ،

    wa-l-ākhidhu ‘alā l-jarīrati lawlā anātuh,

    وَإذَا أَرَدْتَ بِقَوْم فِتْنَةً أَوْ سُوءً فَنَجِّنِي مِنْهَا لِواذاً بِكَ،

    wa-idhā aradta bi-qawmin fitnatan aw sū’an fa-najjinī minhā liwādhan bik,

    وَإذْ لَمْ تُقِمْنِي مَقَامَ فَضِيحَة فِي دُنْيَاكَ فَلاَ تُقِمْنِي مِثْلَهُ فِيْ آخِرَتِكَ،

    wa-idh lam tuqimnī maqāma faḍīḥah fī dunyāk fa-lā tuqimnī mithlahū fī ākhiratik,

    وَاشْفَعْ لِي أَوَائِلَ مِنَنِكَ بِأَوَاخِرِهَا،

    wa-shfa‘ lī awā’ila minanik bi-awākhirihā,

    وَقَدِيمَ فَوَائِدِكَ بِحَوَادِثِهَا.

    wa-qadīma fawā’idik bi-ḥawādithihā.

    وَلاَ تَمْدُدْ لِيَ مَدّاً يَقْسُو مَعَهُ قَلْبِي،

    Wa-lā tamdud liya maddan yaqsū ma‘ahū qalbī,

    وَلاَ تَقْرَعْنِي قَارِعَةً يَذْهَبُ لَها بَهَآئِي،

    wa-lā taqra‘nī qāri‘atan yadhhabu lahā bahā’ī,

    وَلاَ تَسُمْنِي خَسِيْسَةً يَصْغُرُ لَهَا قَدْرِي،

    wa-lā tasumnī khasīsatan yaṣghuru lahā qadrī,

    وَلاَ نَقِيصَةً يُجْهَلُ مِنْ أَجْلِهَا مَكَانِي،

    wa-lā naqīṣatan yujhalu min ajlihā makānī,

    وَلاَ تَرُعْنِي رَوْعَةً أُبْلِسُ بِها، وَلاَ خِيْفةً أوجِسُ دُونَهَا.

    wa-lā taru‘nī raw‘atan ublisu bihā, wa-lā khīfatan awjisu dūnahā.

    اجْعَلْ هَيْبَتِي في وَعِيدِكَ،

    Ij‘al haybatī fī wa‘īdik,

    وَحَذَرِي مِنْ إعْذارِكَ وَإنْذَارِكَ،

    wa-ḥadharī min i‘dhārik wa-inḍārik,

    وَرَهْبَتِي عِنْدَ تِلاَوَةِ آياتِكَ،

    wa-rahbatī ‘inda tilāwati āyātik,

    وَاعْمُرْ لَيْلِي بِإيقَاظِي فِيهِ لِعِبَادَتِكَ،

    wa-mur laylī bi-īqāẓī fīhi li-‘ibādatik,

    وَتَفَرُّدِي بِالتَّهَجُّدِ لَكَ، وَتَجَرُّدِي بِسُكُونِي إلَيْكَ،

    wa-tafarrudī bi-t-tahajjudi lak, wa-tajarrudī bi-sukūnī ilayk,

    وَإنْزَالِ حَوَائِجِي بِكَ،

    wa-inzāli ḥawā’ijī bik,

    وَمُنَازَلَتِي إيَّاكَ فِي فَكَاكِ رَقَبَتِي مِنْ نَارِكَ،

    wa-munāzalatī iyyāk fī fakāki raqabatī min nārik,

    وَإجَارَتِي مِمَّا فِيهِ أَهْلُهَا مِنْ عَذَابِكَ.

    wa-ijāratī mimmā fīhi ahluhā min ‘adhābik.

    وَلاَ تَذَرْنِي فِي طُغْيَانِي عَامِهاً،

    Wa-lā tadharnī fī ṭughyānī ‘āmihā,

    وَلاَ فِي غَمْرَتِي سَاهِياً حَتَّى حِين،

    wa-lā fī ghamratī sāhiyan ḥattā ḥīn,

    وَلاَ تَجْعَلْنِي عِظَةً لِمَنِ اتَّعَظَ، وَلاَ نَكَالاً لِمَنِ اعْتَبَرَ،

    wa-lā taj‘alnī ‘iẓatan li-mani itta‘aẓ, wa-lā nakālan li-mani i‘tabar,

    وَلاَ فِتْنَةً لِمَن نَظَرَ، وَلاَ تَمْكُرْ بِيَ فِيمَنْ تَمْكُرُ بِهِ،

    wa-lā fitnatan li-man naẓar, wa-lā tamkur biya fī-man tamkuru bih,

    وَلاَ تَسْتَبْدِلْ بِيَ غَيْرِي، وَلاَ تُغَيِّرْ لِيْ إسْماً،

    wa-lā tastabdil biya ghayrī, wa-lā tughayyir lī ismā,

    وَلاَ تُبدِّلْ لِي جِسْماً، وَلاَ تَتَّخِذْنِي هُزُوَاً لِخَلْقِكَ،

    wa-lā tubaddil lī jismā, wa-lā tattakhidhnī huzuwan li-khalqik,

    وَلاَ سُخْرِيّاً لَكَ، وَلاَ تَبَعاً إلاَّ لِمَرْضَاتِكَ،

    wa-lā sukhriyyan lak, wa-lā taba‘an illā li-marḍātik,

    وَلاَ مُمْتَهَناً إلاَّ بِالانْتِقَامِ لَكَ، وَأَوْجِدْنِي بَرْدَ عَفْوِكَ،

    wa-lā mumtahanan illā bi-l-intiqām lak, wa-awjidnī barda ‘afwik,

    وَحَلاَوَةَ رَحْمَتِكَ وَرَوْحِكَ وَرَيْحَانِكَ وَجَنَّةِ نَعِيْمِكَ،

    wa-ḥalāwata raḥmatik wa-rawḥik wa-rayḥānik wa-jannati na‘īmik,

    وَأَذِقْنِي طَعْمَ الْفَرَاغِ لِمَا تُحِبُّ بِسَعَة مِنْ سَعَتِكَ،

    wa-adhiqnī ṭa‘ma l-farāghi li-mā tuḥibb bi-sa‘atin min sa‘atik,

    وَالاجْتِهَادِ فِيمَا يُزْلِفُ لَدَيْكَ وَعِنْدَك،

    wa-l-ij tihād fīmā yuzlifu ladayk wa-‘indak,

    وَأَتْحِفْنِي بِتُحْفَة مِنْ تُحَفَاتِكَ،

    wa-atḥifnī bi-tuḥfatin min tuḥafātik,

    وَاجْعَلْ تِجَارَتِي رَابِحَةً، وَكَرَّتِي غَيْرَ خَاسِرَة،

    wa-j‘al tijāratī rābiḥah, wa-karratī ghayra khāsirah,

    وَأَخِفْنِي مَقَامَكَ، وَشَوِّقْنِي لِقاءَكَ،

    And accept my sincere repentance (Tawbat Nasūḥ), leaving no sins with it, neither small nor great,

    وَلاَ تَذَرْ مَعَهَا عَلاَنِيَةً وَلاَ سَرِيرَةً،

    and leaving with it neither what is open nor what is secret,

    وَانْزَعِ الْغِلَّ مِنْ صَدْرِي لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ،

    and remove the malice (al-ghill) from my breast toward the believers,

    وَاعْطِفْ بِقَلْبِي عَلَى الْخَاشِعِيْنَ،

    and incline my heart toward the reverent (al-khāshi‘īn),

    وَكُنْ لِي كَمَا تَكُونُ لِلصَّالِحِينَ،

    and be for me as You are for the righteous (aṣ-ṣāliḥīn),

    وَحَلِّنِي حِلْيَةَ الْمُتَّقِينَ،

    and adorn me with the ornament of the God-fearing (al-muttaqīn),

    وَاجْعَلْ لِيَ لِسَانَ صِدْق فِي الْغَابِرِيْنَ،

    and appoint for me a truthful tongue among those who remain (al-ghābirīn) [i.e., those who come later],

    وَذِكْراً نامِياً فِي الاخِرِينَ، وَوَافِ بِيَ عَرْصَةَ الاَوَّلِينَ،

    and a growing remembrance among the latter generations (al-ākhirīn), and bring me to the plain of the former generations (al-awwalīn),

    وَتَمِّمْ سُبُوغَ نِعْمَتِكَ عَلَيَّ، وَظَاهِرْ كَرَامَاتِهَا لَدَيَّ،

    and complete the fullness of Your blessing upon me, and make its bestowals manifest with me,

    و امْلاْ مِنْ فَوَائِدِكَ يَدَيَّ، وَسُقْ كَرَائِمَ مَوَاهِبِكَ إلَيَّ،

    and fill my hands from Your benefits, and drive the noblest of Your gifts toward me,

    وَجَاوِرْ بِيَ الاَطْيَبِينَ مِنْ أَوْلِيَآئِكَ

    and let me neighbor the purest of Your friends

    فِي الْجِنَاْنِ الَّتِي زَيَّنْتَهَا لاَِصْفِيآئِكَ،

    in the Gardens You have adorned for Your chosen ones,

    وَجَلِّلْنِي شَرَآئِفَ نِحَلِكَ فِي الْمَقَامَاتِ الْمُعَدَّةِ لاَِحِبَّائِكَ،

    and cover me with the noblest of Your grants in the stations prepared for Your beloved ones,

    وَاجْعَلْ لِيَ عِنْدَكَ مَقِيْلاً آوِي إلَيْهِ مُطْمَئِنّاً،

    and appoint for me a resting place (maqīl) with You where I take shelter, feeling secure,

    وَمَثابَةً أَتَبَوَّأُهَا وَأَقَرُّ عَيْناً.

    and a resort (mathābah) where I settle down and am delighted.

    وَلاَ تُقَايِسْنِي بِعَظِيمَاتِ الْجَرَائِرِ،

    And do not reckon with me according to the enormities of offenses,

    وَلاَ تُهْلِكْنِي يَوْمَ تُبْلَى السَّرَائِرُ،

    and do not destroy me on the Day when secrets are tested,

    وَأَزِلْ عَنِّي كُلَّ شَكٍّ وَشُبْهَة،

    and remove from me all doubt (shakk) and ambiguity (shubhah),

    وَاجْعَلْ لِي فِي الْحَقِّ طَرِيقاً مِنْ كُلِّ رَحْمَة،

    and appoint for me a way to the Truth from every mercy,

    وَأَجْزِلْ لِي قِسَمَ الْمَواهِبِ مِنْ نَوَالِكَ،

    and make abundant for me the portions of gifts from Your grant,

    وَوَفِّرْ عَلَيَّ حُظُوظَ الاِحْسَانِ مِنْ إفْضَالِكَ،

    and increase for me the shares of benevolence from Your grace,

    وَاجْعَلْ قَلْبِي وَاثِقاً بِمَا عِنْدَكَ،

    and make my heart trusting in what is with You,

    وَهَمِّيَ مُسْتَفْرَغاً لِمَا هُوَ لَكَ،

    and my concern wholly devoted to what is for You,

    وَاسْتَعْمِلْنِي بِما تَسْتَعْمِلُ بِهِ خَالِصَتَكَ،

    and employ me in what You employ Your chosen ones to do,

    وَأَشْرِبْ قَلْبِي عِنْدَ ذُهُولِ العُقُولِ طَاعَتَكَ،

    and saturate my heart with Your obedience when minds are oblivious,

    وَاجْمَعْ لِي الْغِنى، وَالْعَفَافَ، وَالدَّعَةَ، وَالْمُعَافَاةَ،

    and gather for me wealth (al-ghinā), chastity (al-‘afāf), serenity (ad-da‘ah), and freedom from affliction (al-mu‘āfāt),

    وَالصِّحَّةَ، وَالسَّعَةَ، وَالطُّمَأْنِيْنَةَ، وَالْعَافِيَةَ،

    وَلاَ خَلَواتِي بِمَا يَعْرِضُ لِيَ مِنْ نَزَغَاتِ فِتْنَتِكَ،

    and not my privacy by what assails me of the whispers of Your temptation,

    وَصُنْ وَجْهِي عَنِ الطَّلَبِ إلَى أَحَد مِنَ الْعَالَمِينَ،

    and preserve my face from seeking from anyone in the worlds,

    وَذُبَّنِي عَنِ التِماسِ مَا عِنْدَ الفَاسِقِينَ،

    and ward me off from seeking what is with the wicked (al-fāsiqīn),

    وَلاَ تَجْعَلْنِي لِلظَّالِمِينَ ظَهِيراً،

    and do not make me a supporter for the wrongdoers (aẓ-ẓālimīn),

    وَلاَ لَهُمْ عَلى مَحْوِ كِتَابِكَ يَداً وَنَصِيراً،

    and not a hand or helper for them in obliterating Your Book,

    وَحُطْنِي مِنْ حَيْثُ لاَ أَعْلَمُ حِيَاطَةً تَقِيْنِي بِهَا،

    and surround me from where I do not know with a protection by which You guard me,

    وَافْتَحْ لِيَ أَبْوَابَ تَوْبَتِكَ وَرَحْمَتِكَ وَرَأْفَتِكَ وَرِزْقِكَ الواسِعِ،

    and open for me the doors of Your repentance, Your mercy, Your tenderness, and Your vast provision,

    إنِّي إلَيْكَ مِنَ الرَّاغِبِينَ،

    for I am one of the desirous toward You,

    and complete Your favor upon me, truly You are the best of those who confer favor,

    seeking Your Face, O Lord of the Worlds,

    وَصَلَّى اللهُ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ الطَّيِّبِينَ الطَّاهِرِينَ،

    and may God bless Muḥammad and his pure, purified Household,

    وَالسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَيْهِمْ أَبَدَ الابِدِينَ.

    and peace be upon him and upon them forever and ever.

    وَوَارِثَ كُلِّ شَيْء، لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهِ شَـيْءٌ،

    6.Inheritor of all things! "There is nothing like Him" (42:11),

    7.knowledge of nothing escapes Him,

    24.and originated the originated things without limitation.

    25.It is You who hast ordained each thing with an ordination,

    وَيَسَّرْتَ كُلَّ شَيْء تَيْسِيراً،

    26.eased each thing with an easing,

    وَدَبَّرْتَ مَا دُونَكَ تَدْبِيْراً.

    27.and governed everything below Yourself with a governing.

    وَأَنْتَ الَّذِي لَمْ يُعِنْكَ عَلَى خَلْقِكَ شَرِيكٌ

    28.It is You whom no associate helps with Your creation

    وَلَمْ يُؤازِرْكَ فِي أَمْرِكَ وَزِيرٌ،

    29.and no vizier aids in Your command.

    30.You hast no witness and no equal.

    أَنْتَ الَّذِي أَرَدْتَ فَكَانَ حَتْماً مَا أَرَدْتَ،

    31.It is You who willed, and what You willed was unfailing,

    وَقَضَيْتَ فَكَانَ عَدْلاً مَا قَضَيْتَ،

    32.who decreed, and what You decreed was just,

    وَحَكَمْتَ فَكَانَ نِصْفاً مَا حَكَمْتَ،

    أَنْتَ الَّـذِي لا يَحْوِيْـكَ مَكَانٌ

    وَلَمْ يَقُمْ لِسُلْطَانِكَ سُلْطَانٌ،

    35.before whose authority no authority stands up,

    وَلَمْ يُعْيِكَ بُرْهَانٌ وَلا بَيَانٌ.

    36.and whom no proof or explication can thwart.

    أَنْتَ الَّذِي أَحْصَيْتَ كُلَّ شَيْء عَدَدَاً،

    37.It is You who hast counted everything in numbers,

    وَجَعَلْتَ لِكُلِّ شَيْء أَمَداً،

    38.appointed for everything a term,

    وَقَدَّرْتَ كُلَّ شَيْء تَقْدِيْراً.

    39.and ordained everything with an ordination.

    أَنْتَ الَّذِي قَصُرَتِ الاوْهَامُ عَنْ ذَاتِيَّتِكَ،

    40.It is You before whose selfness imaginations fall short,

    وَعَجَزَتِ الافْهَامُ عَنْ كَيْفِيَّتِكَ ،

    41.before whose howness understandings have no incapacity,

    وَلَمْ تُدْرِكِ الابْصَارُ مَوْضِعَ أَيْنِيَّتِكَ.

    42.and the place of whose whereness eyes perceive not.

    أَنْتَ الَّذِي لا تُحَدُّ فَتَكُونَ مَحْدُوداً،

    43.It is You who hast no bounds, lest You be bounded,

    وَلَمْ تُمَثَّلْ فَتَكُونَ مَوْجُوداً،

    44.who art not exemplified, lest You be found,

    وَلَمْ تَلِدْ فَتَكُونَ مَوْلُوداً.

    45.who dost not beget, lest You be begotten.

    أَنْتَ الَّذِي لا ضِدَّ مَعَكَ فَيُعَانِدَكَ،

    46.It is You with whom there is no opposite, lest it contend with You,

    وَلا عِدْلَ فَيُكَاثِرَكَ، وَلاَ نِدَّ لَكَ فَيُعَارِضَكَ.

    47.who hast no equal, lest it vie with You, who hast no rival, lest it resist You.

    أَنْتَ الَّـذِي ابْتَدَأ وَاخْتَـرَعَ

    48.It is You who art He who began, devised,

    وَاسْتَحْدَثَ وَابْتَـدَعَ

    وَأَحْسَنَ صُنْعَ مَا صَنَعَ،

    50.and made well all that He made.

    سُبْحانَكَ! مَا أَجَلَّ شَأنَكَ،

    وَأَسْنَى فِي الامَاكِنِ مَكَانَكَ،

    وَأَصْدَعَ بِالْحَقِّ فُرقَانَكَ.

    سُبْحَانَكَ مِنْ لَطِيفٍ مَا أَلْطَفَكَ،

    54.Glory be to You! The Gentle - how gentle You art!

    وَرَؤُوفٍ مَا أَرْأَفَكَ، وَحَكِيمٍ مَا أَعْرَفَكَ!

    55.The Clement - how clement You art! The Wise - how knowing You art!

    سُبْحَانَكَ مِنْ مَلِيْكٍ مَا أَمْنَعَكَ،

    56.Glory be to You! The King - how invincible You art!

    وَجَوَادٍ مَا أَوْسَعَكَ، وَرَفِيعٍ مَا أَرْفَعَكَ،

    57.The Munificent - how full of plenty You art! The Elevated - how elevated You art!

    ذُو الْبَهاءِ وَالْمَجْدِ وَالْكِبْرِيَاءِ وَالْحَمْدِ .

    58.Possessor of radiance and glory, magnificence and praise!

    سُبْحَانَكَ بَسَطْتَ بِالْخَيْرَاتِ يَدَكَ

    59.Glory be to You! You hast stretched forth Your hand with good things,

    وَعُرِفَتِ الْهِدَايَةُ مِنْ عِنْدِكَ،

    60.and from You guidance has come to be known,

    فَمَنِ الْتَمَسَكَ لِدِينٍ أَوْ دُنْيا وَجَدَكَ.

    61.so he who begs from You religion or this world will find You.

    سُبْحَانَكَ خَضَعَ لَكَ مَنْ جَرى فِي عِلْمِكَ،

    62.Glory be to You! Whatever passes in Your knowledge is subjected to You,

    وَخَشَعَ لِعَظَمَتِكَ مَا دُونَ عَرْشِكَ،

    63.all below Your Throne are humbled before Your mightiness,

    وَانْقَادَ لِلتَّسْلِيْمِ لَكَ كُلُّ خَلْقِكَ.

    64.and every one of Your creatures follows You in submission.

    سُبْحَانَكَ لاَ تُحَسَّ، وَلاَ تُجَسُّ، وَلاَ تُمَسُّ،

    65.Glory be to You! You art not sensed, nor touched, nor felt,

    وَلاَ تُكَادُ، وَلاَ تُمَاطُ، وَلاَ تُنَازَعُ، وَلاَ تُجَارى،

    66.nor beguiled, nor held back, nor challenged, nor kept up with,

    وَلاَ تُمارى، وَلاَ تُخَادَعُ، وَلاَ تُمَاكَرُ.

    67.nor resisted, nor deceived, nor circumvented.

    سُبْحَانَكَ سَبِيلُكَ جَدَدٌ، وَأَمْرُكَ رَشَدٌ، وَأَنْتَ حَيٌّ صَمَدٌ.

    68.Glory be to You! Your path is smooth ground, Your command right guidance, and You art a living, eternal refuge.

    سُبْحَانَكَ لاَ رَادَّ لِمَشِيَّتِكَ، وَلاَ مُبَدِّلَ لِكَلِمَاتِكَ.

    70.Glory be to You! None can reject Your wish, none can change Your words.

    سُبْحَانَكَ بَاهِرَ الايآتِ، فَاطِرَ السَّمَوَاتِ بَارِئ، النَّسَماتِ.

    71.Glory be to You, Outdazzling in signs, Creator of the heavens, Author of the spirits!

    لَكَ الْحَمْدُ حَمْدَاً يَدُومُ بِدَوامِكَ،

    72.To You belongs praise, a praise that will be permanent with Your permanence!

    وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ حَمْداً خَالِداً بِنِعْمَتِكَ،

    73.To You belongs praise, a praise everlasting through Your favour!

    وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ حَمْداً يُوَازِي صُنْعَكَ،

    74.To You belongs praise, a praise that will parallel Your benefaction!

    وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ حَمْداً يَزِيدُ عَلَى رِضَاكَ،

    77.and a thanksgiving before which falls short the thanksgiving of every thanksgiver;

    حَمْداً لاَ يَنْبَغِي إلاَّ لَكَ،

    78.a praise which is suitable for none but You

    وَلاَ يُتَقَرَّبُ بِهِ إلاَّ إلَيْكَ،

    حَمْداً يُسْتَدَامُ بِهِ الاَوَّلُ،

    وَيُسْتَدْعَى بِهِ دَوَامُ الاخِرِ،

    حَمْداً يَتَضَاعَفُ عَلَى كُرُورِ الاَزْمِنَةِ،

    حَمْداً يَعْجِزُ عَنْ إحْصَآئِهِ الْحَفَظَةُ،

    وَيَزِيدُ عَلَى مَا أَحْصَتْهُ فِي كِتابِكَ الْكَتَبَةُ،

    85.and which exceeds what the writers number in Your Book;

    حَمْداً يُوازِنُ عَرْشَكَ المَجِيْدَ،

    86.a praise which will counterbalance Your glorious Throne

  505. 505

    وَيُعَادِلُ كُرْسِيَّكَ الرَّفِيعَ،

    87.and equal Your elevated Footstool;

  506. 506

    حَمْداً يَكْمُلُ لَدَيْكَ ثَوَابُهُ،

    88.a praise whose reward with You will be complete

  507. 507

    وَيَسْتَغْرِقُ كُلَّ جَزَآء جَزَآؤُهُ،

    89.and whose recompense will comprise every recompense;

  508. 508

    حَمْداً ظَاهِرُهُ وَفْقٌ لِبَاطِنِهِ،

    90.a praise whose outward conforms to its inward,

  509. 509

    وَبَاطِنُهُ وَفْقٌ لِصِدْقِ النِّيَّةِِ،

    91.and whose inward conforms to correct intention;

  510. 510

    حَمْداً لَمْ يَحْمَدْكَ خَلْقٌ مِثْلَهُ،

    92.a praise with whose like no creature has praised You

  511. 511

    وَلاَ يَعْرِفُ أَحَدٌ سِوَاكَ فَضْلَهُ،

    93.and whose excellence none knows but Thou;

  512. 512

    حَمْداً يُعَانُ مَنِ اجْتَهَدَ فِي تَعْدِيْدِهِ،

    94.a praise in which he who strives to multiply Your praise will be helped

  513. 513

    وَيُؤَيَّدُ مَنْ أَغْرَقَ نَزْعَاً فِي تَوْفِيَتِهِ،

    95.and he who draws the bow to the utmost in fulfilling it will be confirmed;

  514. 514

    حَمْداً يَجْمَعُ مَا خَلَقْتَ مِنَ الْحَمْدِ،

    96.a praise which will gather all the praise which You hast created

  515. 515

    وَيَنْتَظِمُ مَا أَنْتَ خَالِقُهُ مِنْ بَعْدُ،

    97.and tie together all which You wilt afterwards create;

  516. 516

    حَمْداً لاَ حَمْدَ أَقْرَبُ إلَى قَوْلِكَ مِنْهُ،

    98.a praise than which no praise is nearer to Your word

  517. 517

    وَلاَ أَحْمَدَ مِمَّنْ يَحْمَدُكَ بِهِ،

    99.and than which none is greater from any who praise You;

  518. 518

    حَمْداً يُوجِبُ بِكَرَمِكَ الْمَزِيدَ بِوُفُورِهِ

    100.a praise whose fullness will obligate increase through Your generosity

  519. 519

    وَتَصِلُهُ بِمَزِيْد بَعْدَ مَزِيْد طَوْلاً مِنْكَ،

    101.and to which You wilt join increase after increase as graciousness from You;

  520. 520

    حَمْداً يَجِبُ لِكَرَمِ وَجْهِكَ، وَيُقَابِلُ عِزَّ جَلاَلِكَ.

    102.a praise that will befit the generosity of Your face and meet the might of Your majesty!

  521. 521

    رَبِّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِ مُحَمَّد

    103.My Lord, bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,

  522. 522

    الْمُنْتَجَبِ، الْمُصْطَفَى،

    104.the distinguished, the chosen,

  523. 523

    الْمُكَرَّمِ، الْمُقَرَّبِ، أَفْضَلَ صَلَوَاتِكَ،

    105.the honoured, the brought nigh, with the most excellent of Your blessings,

  524. 524

    وَبارِكْ عَلَيْهِ أَتَمَّ بَرَكاتِكَ،

    106.benedict him with the most complete of Your benedictions,

  525. 525

    وَتَرَحَّمْ عَلَيْهِ أَمْتَعَ رَحَمَاتِكَ.

    107.and have mercy upon him with the most enjoyable of Your mercies!

  526. 526

    رَبِّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ، صَلاَةً زَاكِيَةً،

    108.My Lord, bless Muhammad and his Household with a fruitful blessing,

    لاَ تَكُونُ صَلاَةٌ أَزْكَى مِنْهَا،

    109.more fruitful than which there is no blessing!

  528. 528

    وَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِ صَلاَةً نَامِيَةً،

    110.Bless him with a growing blessing,

  529. 529

    لاَ تَكُونُ صَلاةٌ أَنْمَى مِنْهَا،

    111.more growing than which there is no blessing!

  530. 530

    وَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِ صَلاةً رَاضِيَةً،

    112.And bless him with a pleasing blessing,

  531. 531

    لاَ تَكُونُ صَلاةٌ فَوْقَهَا.

    113.beyond which there is no blessing!

  532. 532

    رَبِّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ،

    114.My Lord, bless Muhammad and his Household

  533. 533

    صَلاَةً تُرْضِيهِ وَتَزِيدُ عَلَى رِضَاهُ،

    115.with a blessing which will please him and increase his good pleasure!

  534. 534

    وَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِ صَلاَةً تُرْضِيكَ وَتَزِيدُ عَلَى رِضَاكَ لَهُ،

    116.Bless him with a blessing which will please You and increase Your good pleasure toward him!

  535. 535

    وَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِ صَلاَةً لاَ تَرْضَى لَهُ إلاَّ بِهَا،

    117.And bless him with a blessing through other than which You wilt not be pleased for him,

  536. 536

    وَلاَ تَرى غَيْرَهُ لَهَا أَهْلاً.

    118.and for which You seest no one else worthy!

  537. 537

    رَبِّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ،

    119.My Lord, bless Muhammad and his Household

  538. 538

    صَلاَةً تُجَاوِزُ رِضْوَانَكَ، وَيَتَّصِلُ اتِّصَالُهَا بِبَقَآئِكَ،

    120.with a blessing which will pass beyond Your good pleasure, be continuous in its continuity through Your subsistence,

  539. 539

    وَلاَ يَنْفَدُ كَمَا لاَ تَنْفَدُ كَلِماتُكَ.

    121.and never be spent, just as Your words will never be spent!

  540. 540

    رَبِّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ

    122.My Lord, bless Muhammad and his Household

  541. 541

    وَآلِهِ صَلاَةً تَنْتَظِمُ صَلَوَاتِ مَلائِكَتِكَ

    123.with a blessing which will tie together the blessings of Your angels,

  542. 542

    وَأَنْبِيآئِكَ وَرُسُلِكَ وَأَهْلِ طَاعَتِكَ.

    124.Your prophets, Your messengers, and those who obey You,

  543. 543

    وَتَشْتَمِلُ عَلَى صَلَوَاتِ عِبَادِكَ

    125.comprise the blessings of Your servants,

  544. 544

    مِنْ جِنّكَ وَإنْسِكَ وَأَهْلِ إجَابَتِكَ،

    126.jinn or mankind, and those worthy of Your response,

  545. 545

    وَتَجْتَمِعُ عَلَى صَلاَةِ كُلِّ مَنْ ذَرَأْتَ وَبَرَأْتَ مِنْ أَصْنَافِ خَلْقِكَ.

    127.and bring together the blessings of every one of the kinds of Your creatures which You hast sown and authored!

    رَبِّ صَلِّ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ

    128.My Lord, bless Muhammad and his Household

  547. 547

    صَلاَةً تُحِيطُ بِكُلِّ صَلاَة سَالِفَة وَمُسْتَأْنَفَة،

    129.with a blessing which will encompass every blessing, bygone and new!

  548. 548

    وَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَى آلِهِ

    130.Bless him and his Household

  549. 549

    صَلاَةً مَرْضِيَّةً لَكَ وَلِمَنْ دُونَكَ،

    131.with a blessing which is pleasing to You and everyone below You

  550. 550

    وَتُنْشِئُ مَعَ ذَلِكَ صَلَوَات تُضَاعِفُ مَعَهَا تِلْكَ الصَّلَوَاتِ عِنْدَهَا،

    132.and will bring forth with all that a blessing with which You wilt multiply those blessings

  551. 551

    وَتَزِيدُهَا عَلَى كُرُورِ الاَيَّامِ زِيَادَةً

    133.and increase them through the recurrence of days with an increasing

  552. 552

    فِي تَضَاعِيفَ لاَ يَعُدُّهَا غَيْرُكَ.

    134.in multiples which none can count but Thou!

  553. 553

    رَبِّ صَلِّ عَلَى أَطَائِبِ أَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ

    135.My Lord, bless the best of his Household,

  554. 554

    الَّذِينَ اخْتَرْتَهُمْ لاَِمْرِكَ،

    136.those whom You hast chosen for Your command,

  555. 555

    وَجَعَلْتَهُمْ خَزَنَةَ عِلْمِكَ، وَحَفَظَةَ دِيْنِكَ،

    137.appointed the treasurers of Your knowledge, the guardians of Your religion,

  556. 556

    وَخُلَفَآءَكَ فِي أَرْضِكَ، وَحُجَجَكَ عَلَى عِبَادِكَ،

    138.Your vicegerents in Your earth, and Your arguments against Your servants,

  557. 557

    وَطَهَّرْتَهُمْ مِنَ الرِّجْسِ وَالدَّنَسِ تَطْهِيراً بِإرَادَتِكَ،

    139.purified from uncleanness and defilement through a purification by Your desire (ref:33:33),

  558. 558

    وَجَعَلْتَهُمُ الْوَسِيْلَةَ إلَيْكَ وَالْمَسْلَكَ إلَى جَنَّتِكَ،

    140.and made the mediation to You and the road to Your Garden!

  559. 559

    رَبِّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ

    141.My Lord, bless Muhammad and his Household

  560. 560

    صَلاةً تُجْزِلُ لَهُمْ بِهَا مِنْ نِحَلِكَ وَكَرَامَتِكَ،

    142.with a blessing which makes plentiful Your gifts and generosity,

  561. 561

    وَتُكْمِلُ لَهُمُ الاَشْيَآءَ مِنْ عَطَاياكَ وَنَوَافِلِكَ،

    143.perfects for them Your bestowals and awards,

  562. 562

    وَتُوَفِّرُ عَلَيْهِمُ الْحَظَّ مِنْ عَوَائِدِكَ وَفَوائِدِكَ.

    144.and fills out their share of Your kindly acts and benefits!

  563. 563

    رَبِّ صَلِّ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَيْهِمْ صَلاَةً لاَ أَمَدَ فِي أَوَّلِهَا،

    145.My Lord, bless him and his Household with a blessing whose first has no term,

  564. 564

    وَلاَ غَايَةَ لاَِمَدِهَا، وَلاَ نِهَايَةَ لاِخِرِهَا.

    146.whose term has no limit, and whose last has no utmost end!

  565. 565

    رَبِّ صَلِّ عَلَيْهِمْ زِنَةَ عَرْشِكَ وَمَا دُونَهُ،

    147.My Lord, bless them to the weight of Your Throne and all below it,

  566. 566

    وَمِلءَ سَموَاتِكَ وَمَا فَوْقَهُنَّ،

    148.the amount that fills the heavens and all above them,

  567. 567

    وَعَدَدَ أَرَضِيْكَ، وَمَا تَحْتَهُنَّ، وَمَا بَيْنَهُنَّ،

    149.the number of Your earths and all below and between them,

  568. 568

    صَلاَةً تُقَرِّبُهُمْ مِنْكَ زُلْفى وَتَكُونُ لَكَ وَلَهُمْ رِضَىً،

    150.a blessing that will bring them near to You in proximity, please You and them,

  569. 569

    وَمُتَّصِلَةٌ بِنَظَائِرِهِنَّ أَبَداً.

    151.and be joined to its likes forever!

  570. 570

    أللَّهُمَّ إنَّكَ أَيَّدْتَ دِينَكَ فِي كُلِّ أَوَان

    152.O God, surely You hast confirmed Your religion in all times

  571. 571

    بِإمَام أَقَمْتَهُ عَلَماً لِعِبَادِكَ وَّمَنارَاً فِي بِلاَدِكَ،

    153.with an Imam whom You hast set up as a guidepost to Your servants and a lighthouse in Your lands,

  572. 572

    بَعْدَ أَنْ وَصَلْتَ حَبْلَهُ بِحَبْلِكَ،

    154.after his cord has been joined to Your cord!

  573. 573

    وَجَعَلْتَهُ الذَّرِيعَةَ إلَى رِضْوَانِكَ،

    155.You hast appointed him the means to Your good pleasure,

  574. 574

    وَافْتَرَضْتَ طَاعَتَهُ، وَحَذَّرْتَ مَعْصِيَتَهُ،

    156.made obeying him obligatory, cautioned against disobeying him,

  575. 575

    وَأَمَرْتَ بِامْتِثَالِ أوَاِمِرِه وَالانْتِهَآءِ عِنْدَ نَهْيِهِ،

    157.and commanded following his commands, abandoning what he has prohibited,

  576. 576

    وَأَلاَّ يَتَقَدَّمَهُ مُتَقَدِّمٌ، وَلاَ يَتَأَخَّرَ عَنْهُ مُتَأَخِّرٌ،فَهُوَ عِصْمَةُ اللاَّئِذِينَ

    158.and that no forward-goer go ahead of him or back-keeper keep back from him! So he is the preservation of the shelter-seekers,

    ، وَكَهْفُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ، وَعُرْوَةُ الْمُتَمَسِّكِينَ، وَبَهَآءُ الْعَالَمِينَ.

    159.the cave of the faithful, the handhold of the adherents, and the radiance of the worlds!

  578. 578

    أللَّهُمَّ فَأَوْزِعْ لِوَلِيِّكَ شُكْرَ مَا أَنْعَمْتَ بِهِ عَلَيْهِ،

    160.O God, so inspire Your guardian to give thanks for that in which You hast favoured him,

  579. 579

    وَأَوْزِعْنَا مِثْلَهُ فِيهِ، وَآتِهِ مِنْ لَدُنْكَ سُلْطَاناً نَصِيراً،

    161.inspire us with the like concerning him, grant him 'an authority from You to help him' (ref.17:80),

  580. 580

    وَافْتَحْ لَهُ فَتْحاً يَسِيراً، وَأَعِنْهُ بِرُكْنِكَ الاعَزِّ،

    162.open for him an easy opening, aid him with Your mightiest pillar,

  581. 581

    وَاشْدُدْ أَزْرَهُ، وَقَوِّ عَضُدَهُ، وَرَاعِهِ بِعَيْنِكَ،

    163.brace up his back, strengthen his arm, guard him with Your eye,

  582. 582

    وَاحْمِهِ بِحِفْظِكَ، وَانْصُرْهُ بِمَلائِكَتِكَ،

    164.defend him with Your safeguarding, help him with Your angels,

  583. 583

    وَامْدُدْهُ بِجُنْدِكَ الاَغْلَبِ وَأَقِمْ بِهِ كِتَابَكَ وَحُدُودَكَ،

    165.and assist him with Your most victorious troops! Through him establish Your Book, Your bounds,

  584. 584

    وَشَرَائِعَكَ وَسُنَنَ رَسُولِكَ صَلَوَاتُكَ اللَّهُمَّ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ،

    166.Your laws, and the norms of Your Messenger's Sunna (Your blessings, O God, be upon him and his Household),

  585. 585

    وَأَحْيِ بِهِ مَا أَمَاتَهُ الظَّالِمُونَ مِنْ مَعَالِمِ دِينِكَ،

    167.bring to life the guideposts of Your religion, deadened by the wrongdoers,

  586. 586

    وَاجْلُ بِهِ صَدَآءَ الْجَوْرِ عَنْ طَرِيقَتِكَ،

    168.burnish the rust of injustice from Your way,

  587. 587

    وَأَبِنْ بِهِ الضَّرَّآءَ مِنْ سَبِيلِكَ،

    169.sift the adversity from Your road,

  588. 588

    وَأَزِلْ بِهِ النَّاكِبِينَ عَنْ صِرَاطِكَ،

    170.eliminate those who deviate from Your path,

  589. 589

    وَامْحَقْ بِهِ بُغَاةَ قَصْدِكَ عِوَجاً،

    171.and erase those who seek crookedness in Your straightness!

  590. 590

    وَأَلِنْ جَانِبَهُ لاَِوْلِيَآئِكَ، وَابْسُطْ يَدَهُ عَلَى أَعْدَائِكَ،

    172.Make his side mild toward Your friends, stretch forth his hand over Your enemies,

  591. 591

    وَهَبْ لَنا رَأْفَتَهُ وَرَحْمَتَهُ وَتَعَطُّفَهُ وَتَحَنُّنَهُ،

    173.give us his clemency, his mercy, his tenderness, his sympathy,

  592. 592

    وَاجْعَلْنَا لَهُ سَامِعِينَ مُطِيعِينَ، وَفِي رِضَاهُ سَاعِينَ،

    174.and make us his hearers and obeyers, strivers toward his good pleasure,

  593. 593

    وَإلَى نُصْرَتِهِ وَالْمُدَافَعَةِ عَنْهُ مُكْنِفِينَ،

    175.assistants in helping him and defending him,

  594. 594

    وَإلَيْكَ وَإلَى رَسُولِكَ صَلَواتُكَ

    176.and brought near through that to You and Your Messenger

  595. 595

    اللَّهُمَّ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ بِذَلِكَ مُتَقَرِّبِينَ.

    177.(Your blessings, O God, be upon him and his Household).

  596. 596

    أللَّهُمَّ وَصَلِّ عَلَى أَوْلِيآئِهِمُ الْمُعْتَرِفِينَ بِمَقَامِهِمْ،

    178.O God, and bless the friends [of the Imams], the confessors of their station,

  597. 597

    الْمُتَّبِعِينَ مَنْهَجَهُمْ، الْمُقْتَفِيْنَ آثَارَهُمْ،

    179.the keepers to their course, the pursuers of their tracks,

  598. 598

    الْمُسْتَمْسِكِينَ بِعُرْوَتِهِمْ، الْمُتَمَسِّكِينَ بِوَلاَيَتِهِمْ،

    180.the clingers to their handhold, the adherents to their guardianship,

  599. 599

    الْمُؤْتَمِّينَ بِإمَامَتِهِمْ، الْمُسَلِّمِينَ لاَِمْرِهِمْ

    181.the followers of their imamate, the submitters to their command,

  600. 600

    الْمُجْتَهِدِيْنَ فِي طاعَتِهِمْ، الْمُنْتَظِرِيْنَ أَيَّامَهُمْ،

    182.the strivers to obey them, the awaiters of their days,

  601. 601

    الْمَادِّينَ إلَيْهِمْ أَعْيُنَهُمْ،

    183.the directors of their eyes toward them,

  602. 602

    الصَّلَوَاتِ الْمُبَارَكَاتِ الزَّاكِيَاتِ النَّامِيَاتِ الغَادِيَاتِ، الرَّائِحاتِ.

    184.with blessings blessed, pure, growing, fresh, and fragrant!

  603. 603

    وَسَلِّمْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَعَلَى أَرْوَاحِهِمْ،

    185.Give them and their spirits peace,

  604. 604

    وَاجْمَعْ عَلَى التَّقْوَى أَمْرَهُمْ،

    186.bring together their affair in reverential fear,

  605. 605

    وَأَصْلِحْ لَهُمْ شُؤُونَهُمْ،

    187.set right their situations,

  606. 606

    وَتُبْ عَلَيْهِمْ

    188.turn toward them,

  607. 607

    إنَّكَ أَنْتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ وَخَيْرُ الْغَافِرِينَ،

    189."Surely You art Ever-turning, All-compassionate" (2:128) and the Best of forgivers,

  608. 608

    وَاجْعَلْنَا مَعَهُمْ فِي دَارِ السَّلاَمِ بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ.

    190.and place us with them in the Abode of Peace, through Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful!

    أللَّهُمَّ هَذَا يَوْمُ عَرَفَةَ،

    191.O God, this is the Day of 'Arafa,

  610. 610

    يَوْمٌ شَرَّفْتَهُ وَكَرَّمْتَهُ وَعَظَّمْتَهُ، نَشَرْتَ فِيهِ رَحْمَتَكَ،

    192.a day which You hast made noble, given honour, and magnified. Within it You hast spread Your mercy,

  611. 611

    وَمَنَنْتَ فِيهِ بِعَفْوِكَ وَأَجْزَلْتَ فِيهِ عَطِيَّتَكَ،

    193.showed kindness through Your pardon, and made plentiful Your giving,

  612. 612

    وَتَفَضَّلْتَ بِهِ عَلَى عِبَادِكَ.

    194.and by it You hast been bounteous toward Your servants.

  613. 613

    أللَّهُمَّ وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ الَّذِي أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِ قَبْلَ خَلْقِكَ لَهُ، وَبَعْدَ خَلْقِكَ إيَّاهُ،

    195.I am Your servant whom You favoured before creating him and after creating him.

  614. 614

    فَجَعَلْتَهُ مِمَّنْ هَدَيْتَهُ لِدِينِكَ،

    196.You madest him one of those whom You guided to Your religion,

  615. 615

    وَوَفَّقْتَهُ لِحَقِّكَ، وَعَصَمْتَهُ بِحَبْلِكَ،

    197.gavest success in fulfilling Your right, preserved through Your cord,

  616. 616

    وَأَدْخَلْتَهُ فِيْ حِزْبِكَ، وَأَرْشَدْتَهُ لِمُوَالاَةِ أَوْليآئِكَ،

    198.included within Your party, and directed aright to befriend Your friends

  617. 617

    وَمُعَادَاةِ أَعْدَائِكَ، ثُمَّ أَمَرْتَهُ فَلَمْ يَأْتَمِرْ،

    199.and show enmity to Thine enemies. Then You commanded him, but he did not follow Your commands,

  618. 618

    وَزَجَرْتَهُ فَلَمْ يَنْزَجِرْ، وَنَهَيْتَهُ عَنْ مَعْصِيَتِكَ فَخَالَفَ أَمْرَكَ إلَى نَهْيِكَ،

    200.You restricted Him, but he did not heed Your restrictions, You prohibited him from disobedience toward You, but he broke Your command by doing what You hadst prohibited,

  619. 619

    لاَ مُعَانَدَةً لَكَ وَلاَ اسْتِكْبَاراً عَلَيْكَ،

    201.not in contention with You, nor to display pride toward You;

  620. 620

    بَلْ دَعَاهُ هَوَاهُ إلَى مَا زَيَّلْتَهُ، وَإلَى مَا حَذَّرْتَهُ،

    202.on the contrary, his caprice called him to that which You hadst set apart and cautioned against,

  621. 621

    وَأَعَانَهُ عَلَى ذالِكَ عَدُوُّكَ وَعَدُوُّهُ،

    203.and he was helped in that by Your enemy and his enemy.

  622. 622

    فَأَقْدَمَ عَلَيْهِ عَارِفاً بِوَعِيْدِكَ، رَاجِياً لِعَفْوِكَ،

    204.So he went ahead with it knowing Your threat, hoping for Your pardon,

  623. 623

    وَاثِقاً بِتَجَاوُزِكَ، وَكَانَ أَحَقَّ عِبَادِكَ ـ

    205.and relying upon Your forbearance, though he was the most obligated of Your servants

  624. 624

    مَعَ مَا مَنَنْتَ عَلَيْهِ ـ أَلاَّ يَفْعَلَ،

    206.- given Your kindness toward him - not to do so.

  625. 625

    وَهَا أَنَا ذَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ صَاغِراً،

    207.Here I am, then, before You, despised,

  626. 626

    ذَلِيلاً، خَاضِعَاً، خَاشِعاً، خَائِفَاً،

    208.lowly, humble, abject, fearful,

  627. 627

    مُعْتَرِفاً بِعَظِيم مِنَ الذُّنُوبِ تَحَمَّلْتُهُ،

    209.confessing the dreadful sins with which I am burdened

  628. 628

    وَجَلِيْل مِنَ الْخَطَايَا اجْتَرَمْتُهُ،

    210.and the great offenses that I have committed,

  629. 629

    مُسْتَجِيراً بِصَفْحِكَ، لائِذاً بِرَحْمَتِكَ،

    211.seeking sanctuary in Your forgiveness, asking shelter in Your mercy,

    مُوقِناً أَنَّهُ لاَ يُجِيرُنِي مِنْكَ مُجِيرٌ،

    212.and certain that no sanctuary-giver will give me sanctuary from You

  631. 631

    وَلاَ يَمْنَعُنِي مِنْكَ مَانِعٌ .

    213.and no withholder will hold me back from You.

  632. 632

    فَعُدْ عَلَيَّ بِمَا تَعُودُ بِهِ عَلَى مَنِ اقْتَرَفَ مِنْ تَغَمُّدِكَ،

    214.So act kindly toward me, just as You actest kindly by Your shielding him who commits sins,

  633. 633

    وَجُدْ عَلَيَّ بِمَا تَجُودُ بِهِ عَلَى مَنْ أَلْقَى بِيَدِهِ إلَيْكَ مِنْ عَفْوِكَ،

    215.be munificent toward me, just as You art munificent by pardoning him who throws himself before You,

    وَامْنُنْ عَلَيَّ بِمَا لاَ يَتَعَاظَمُكَ

    216.and show kindness to me, just as it is nothing great for You

  635. 635

    أَنْ تَمُنَّ بِهِ عَلَى مَنْ أَمَّلَكَ مِنْ غُفْرَانِكَ،

    217.to show kindness by forgiving him who expectantly hopes in You!

  636. 636

    وَاجْعَلْ لِي فِي هَذَا الْيَوْمِ نَصِيباً أَنَالُ بِهِ حَظّاً مِنْ رِضْوَانِكَ،

    218.Appoint for me in this day an allotment through which I may attain a share of Your good pleasure,

  637. 637

    وَلاَ تَرُدَّنِي صِفْراً مِمَّا يَنْقَلِبُ بِهِ الْمُتَعَبِّدُونَ لَكَ مِنْ عِبَادِكَ،

    219.and send me not back destitute of that with which Your worshipers return from among Your servants!

  638. 638

    وَإنِّي وَإنْ لَمْ أُقَدِّمْ مَا قَدَّمُوهُ مِنَ الصَّالِحَاتِ،

    220.Though I have not forwarded the righteous deeds which they have forwarded,

  639. 639

    فَقَد قَدَّمْتُ تَوْحِيدَكَ،

    221.I have forwarded the profession of Your Unity

  640. 640

    وَنَفْيَ الاَضْدَادِ وَالاَنْدَادِ وَالاشْبَاهِ عَنْكَ،

    222.and the negation from You of opposites, rivals, and likenesses,

  641. 641

    وَأَتَيْتُكَ مِنَ الاَبْوَابِ الَّتِي أَمَرْتَ أَنْ تُؤْتى مِنْها،

    223.I have come to You by the gateways by which You hast commanded that people come,

  642. 642

    وَتَقَرَّبْتُ إلَيْكَ بِمَا لاَ يَقْرُبُ ،

    224.and I have sought nearness to You through that, without seeking nearness through which,

  643. 643

    أَحَدٌ مِنْكَ إلاَّ بِالتَّقَرُّبِ بِهِ

    225.none gains nearness to You.

  644. 644

    ثُمَّ أَتْبَعْتُ ذلِكَ بِالاِنابَةِ إلَيْكَ،

    226.Then I followed all this with repeated turning toward You,

  645. 645

    وَالتَّذَلُّلِ وَالاسْتِكَانَةِ لَكَ، وَحُسْنِ الظَّنِّ بِكَ، وَالثِّقَةِ بِمَا عِنْدَكَ،

    227.lowliness and abasement before You, good opinion of You, and trust in what is with You;

    وَشَفَعْتُهُ بِرَجآئِكَ

    228.and to that I coupled hope in You,

  647. 647

    الَّذِي قَلَّ مَا يَخِيبُ عَلَيْهِ رَاجِيْكَ،

    229.since the one who hopes in You is seldom disappointed!

  648. 648

    وَسَأَلْتُكَ مَسْأَلَةَ الْحَقِيرِ الذّلِيلِ

    230.I asked You with the asking of one vile, lowly,

  649. 649

    الْبَائِسِ الْفَقِيْرِ الْخَائِفِ الْمُسْتَجِيرِ،

    231.pitiful, poor, fearful, seeking sanctuary;

  650. 650

    وَمَعَ ذَلِكَ خِيفَةً وَتَضَرُّعاً وَتَعَوُّذاً وَتَلَوُّذاً،

    232.all that in fear and pleading, seeking refuge and asking shelter,

  651. 651

    لاَ مُسْتَطِيلاً بِتَكبُّرِ الْمُتَكَبِّرِينَ،

    233.not presumptuous through the pride of the proud,

  652. 652

    وَلاَ مُتَعَالِياً بِدالَّةِ الْمُطِيعِينَ،

    234.nor exalting myself with the boldness of the obedient,

  653. 653

    وَلاَ مُسْتَطِيلاً بِشَفَاعَةِ الشَّافِعِينَ،

    235.nor presumptuous of the intercession of the interceders.

  654. 654

    وَأَنَا بَعْدُ أَقَلُّ الاَقَلِّيْنَ، وَأَذَلُّ الاَذَلِّينَ،

    236.For I am still the least of the least and the lowliest of the lowly,

  655. 655

    وَمِثْلُ الذَّرَّةِ أَوْ دُونَهَا.

    237.like a dust mote or less!

  656. 656

    فَيَا مَنْ لَمْ يَعَاجِلِ الْمُسِيئِينَ، وَلاَ يَنْدَهُ الْمُتْرَفِينَ،

    238.O He who does not hurry the evildoers nor restrain those living in ease!

  657. 657

    وَيَا مَنْ يَمُنُّ بِإقَالَةِ الْعَاثِرِينَ، وَيَتَفَضَّلُ بإنْظَارِ الْخَاطِئِينَ،

    239.O He who shows kindness through releasing the stumblers and gratuitous bounty through respiting the offenders!

    أَنَا الْمُسِيءُ الْمُعْتَرِفُ الْخَاطِئُ الْعَاثِرُ،

    240.I am the evildoer, the confessor, the offender, the stumbler!

  659. 659

    أَنَا الَّذِيْ أَقْدَمَ عَلَيْكَ مُجْتَرِئاً،

    241.I am he who was audacious toward You as one insolent!

  660. 660

    أَنَا الَّذِي عَصَاكَ مُتَعَمِّداً،

    242.I am he who disobeyed You with forethought!

  661. 661

    أَنَا الَّذِي اسْتَخْفى مِنْ عِبَادِكَ وَبَارَزَكَ،

    243.I am he who hid myself from Your servants and blatantly showed myself to You!

  662. 662

    أَنَا الَّذِي هَابَ عِبَادَكَ وَأَمِنَكَ

    244.I am he who was awed by Your servants and felt secure from You!

  663. 663

    أَنَا الَّذِي لَمْ يَرْهَبْ سَطْوَتَكَ وَلَمْ يَخَفْ بَأْسَكَ

    245.I am he who dreaded not Your penalty and feared not Your severity!

  664. 664

    أَنَا الْجَانِي عَلَى نَفْسِهِ، أَنَا الْمُرْتَهَنُ بِبَلِيَّتِهِ،

    246.I am the offender against himself! I am the hostage to his own affliction!

  665. 665

    الْقَلِيلُ الْحَيَاءِ، أَنَا الطَّوِيلُ الْعَنآءِ،

    247.I am short in shame! I am long in suffering!

  666. 666

    بِحَقِّ مَنِ انْتَجَبْتَ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ،

    248.By the right of him whom You hast distinguished among Your creation

  667. 667

    وَبِمَنِ اصْطَفَيْتَهُ لِنَفْسِكَ،

    249.and by him whom You hast chosen for Yourself!

  668. 668

    بِحَقِّ مَنِ اخْتَرْتَ مِنْ بَريَّتِكَ، وَمَنِ اجْتَبَيْتَ لِشَأْنِكَ،

    250.By the right of him whom You hast selected from among Your creatures and by him whom You hast picked for Your task!

  669. 669

    بِحَقِّ مَنْ وَصَلْتَ طَاعَتَهُ بِطَاعَتِكَ،

    251.By the right of him the obeying of whom You hast joined to obeying You,

  670. 670

    وَمَنْ جَعَلْتَ مَعْصِيَتَهُ كَمَعْصِيَتِكَ

    252.and by him the disobeying of whom You hast made like disobeying You!

  671. 671

    بِحَقِّ مَنْ قَرَنْتَ مُوَالاَتَهُ بِمُوالاتِكَ،

    253.And by the right of him whose friendship You hast bound to Your friendship

  672. 672

    وَمَنْ نُطْتَ مُعَادَاتَهُ بِمُعَادَاتِكَ.

    254.and by him whose enmity You hast linked to Thine enmity!

  673. 673

    تَغَمَّدْنِي فِي يَوْمِيَ هَذَا بِمَا تَتَغَمَّدُ بِهِ مَنْ جَارَ إلَيْكَ مُتَنَصِّلاً،

    255.Shield me in this day of mine, by that through which You shieldest him who prays fervently to You while disavowing

    وَعَاذَ بِاسْتِغْفَارِكَ تَائِباً،

    256.and him who seeks refuge in Your forgiveness while repenting!

  675. 675

    وَتَوَلَّنِي بِمَا تَتَوَلَّى بِهِ أَهْلَ طَاعَتِكَ،

    257.Attend to me with that through which You attendest to the people of obedience toward You,

  676. 676

    وَالزُّلْفَى لَدَيْكَ، وَالْمَكَانَةِ مِنْكَ،

    258.proximity to You, and rank with You!

  677. 677

    وَتَوَحَّدْنِي بِمَا تَتَوَحَّدُ بِهِ مَنْ وَفى بِعَهْدِكَ،

    259.Single me out, as You singlest him out who fulfils Your covenant,

  678. 678

    وَأَتْعَبَ نَفْسَهُ فِيْ ذَاتِكَ، وَأَجْهَدَهَا فِي مَرْضَاتِكَ،

    260.fatigues himself for Your sake alone, and exerts himself in Your good pleasure!

    وَلاَ تُؤَاخِذْنِي بِتَفْرِيطِيْ فِي جَنْبِكَ،

    261.Take me not to task for my neglect in respect to You,

  680. 680

    وَتَعَدِّي طَوْرِيْ فِي حُدودِكَ، وَمُجَاوَزَةِ أَحْكَامِكَ.

    262.my transgressing the limit in Your bounds, and stepping outside Your ordinances!

  681. 681

    وَلاَ تَسْتَدْرِجْنِي بِإمْلائِكَ لِي

    263.Draw me not on little by little by granting me a respite,

  682. 682

    اسْتِدْرَاجَ مَنْ مَنَعَنِي خَيْرَ مَا عِنْدَهُ،

    264.like the drawing on little by little of him who withholds from me the good he has

  683. 683

    وَلَمْ يَشْرَكْكَ فِي حُلُولِ نِعْمَتِهِ بِي،

    265.by not sharing with You in letting favour down upon me!

  684. 684

    وَنَبِّهْنِي مِنْ رَقْدَةِ الْغَافِلِينَ،

    266.Arouse me from the sleep of the heedless,

  685. 685

    وَسِنَةِ الْمُسْرِفِينَ، وَنَعْسَةِ الْمَخْذُولِينَ.

    267.the slumber of the prodigal, and the dozing of the forsaken!

  686. 686

    وَخُذْ بِقَلْبِي إلَى مَا اسْتَعْمَلْتَ بِهِ القَانِتِيْنَ،

    268.Take my heart to that in which You hast employed the devout,

  687. 687

    وَاسْتَعْبَدْتَ بِهِ الْمُتَعَبِّدِينَ، وَاسْتَنْقَذْتَ بِهِ الْمُتَهَاوِنِينَ،

    269.enthralled the worshipers, and rescued the remiss!

  688. 688

    وَأَعِذْنِي مِمَّا يُبَاعِدُنِي عَنْكَ،

    270.Give me refuge from that which will keep me far from You,

  689. 689

    وَيَحُولُ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ حَظِّي مِنْكَ،

    271.come between me and my share from You,

  690. 690

    وَيَصُدُّنِي عَمَّا أُحَاوِلُ لَدَيْكَ.

    272.and bar me from that which I strive for in You!

  691. 691

    وَسَهِّلْ لِي مَسْلَكَ الْخَيْرَاتِ إلَيْكَ،

    273.Make easy for me the road of good deeds toward You,

  692. 692

    وَالْمُسَابَقَةِ إلَيْهَا مِنْ حَيْثُ أَمَرْتَ،

    274.racing to them from where You hast commanded,

  693. 693

    وَالْمُشَاحَّةَ فِيهَا عَلَى مَا أَرَدْتَ.

    275.and coveting them as You desirest!

  694. 694

    وَلاَ تَمْحَقْنِي فِيمَنْ تَمْحَقُ مِنَ الْمُسْتَخِفِّينَ بِمَا أَوْعَدْتَ،

    276.Efface me not along with those whom You effacest for thinking lightly of what You hast promised!

  695. 695

    وَلاَ تُهْلِكْنِي مَعَ مَنْ تُهْلِكُ مِنَ الْمُتَعَرِّضِينَ لِمَقْتِكَ،

    277.Destroy me not with those whom You destroyest for exposing themselves to Your hate!

  696. 696

    وَلاَ تُتَبِّرْني فِيمَنْ تُتَبِّرُ مِنَ الْمُنْحَرِفِينَ عَنْ سُبُلِكَ.

    278.Annihilate me not among those whom You annihilatest for deviating from Your roads!

  697. 697

    وَنَجِّنِيْ مِنْ غَمَرَاتِ الْفِتْنَةِ،

    279.Deliver me from the floods of trial,

  698. 698

    وَخَلِّصْنِي مِنْ لَهَوَاتِ الْبَلْوى،

    280.save me from the gullets of affliction,

  699. 699

    وَأَجِرْنِي مِنْ أَخْذِ الاِمْلاءِ،

    281.and grant me sanctuary from being seized by respite!

  700. 700

    وَحُلْ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ عَدُوٍّ يُضِلُّنِي،

    282.Come between me and the enemy who misguides me,

  701. 701

    وَهَوىً يُوبِقُنِي، وَمَنْقَصَة تَرْهَقُنِي.

    283.the caprice which ruins me, and the failing which overcomes me!

  702. 702

    وَلاَ تُعْرِضْ عَنِّي إعْرَاضَ مَنْ لاَ تَرْضَى عَنْهُ بَعْدَ غَضَبِكَ،

    284.Turn not away from me with the turning away in wrath from one with whom You art not pleased!

  703. 703

    وَلاَ تُؤْيِسْنِي مِنَ الامَلِ فِيكَ، فَيَغْلِبَ عَلَيَّ الْقُنُوطُ مِنْ رَحْمَتِكَ،

    285.Let me not lose heart in expecting from You, lest I be overcome by despair of Your mercy!

    وَلاَ تَمْنَحْنِي بِمَا لاَ طَاقَةَ لِيْ بِهِ،

    286.Grant me not that which I cannot endure,

  705. 705

    فَتَبْهَظَنِي مِمَّا تُحَمِّلُنِيهِ مِنْ فَضْلِ مَحَبَّتِكَ،

    287.lest You weighest me down with the surplus of Your love which You loadest upon me!

  706. 706

    وَلاَ تُرْسِلْنِي مِنْ يَدِكَ إرْسَالَ مَنْ لاَ خَيْرَ فِيهِ،

    288.Send me not from Your hand, the sending of him who possesses no good,

  707. 707

    وَلاَ حَاجَةَ بِكَ إلَيْهِ، وَلاَ إنابَةَ لَهُ،

    289.toward whom You hast no need, and who turns not back [to You]!

  708. 708

    وَلاَ تَرْمِ بِيَ رَمْيَ مَنْ سَقَطَ مِنْ عَيْنِ رِعَايَتِكَ،

    290.Cast me not with the casting of him who has fallen from the eye of Your regard

  709. 709

    وَمَنِ اشْتَمَلَ عَلَيْهِ الْخِزْيُ مِنْ عِنْدِكَ،

    291.and been wrapped in degradation from You!

  710. 710

    بَلْ خُذْ بِيَدِيْ مِنْ سَقْطَةِ الْمُتَرَدِّدِينَ،

    292.Rather take my hand [and save me] from the falling of the stumblers,

  711. 711

    وَوَهْلَةِ الْمُتَعَسِّفِيْنَ، وَزَلّةِ الْمَغْرُورِينَ، وَوَرْطَةِ الْهَالِكِينَ.

    293.the disquiet of the deviators, the slip of those deluded, and the plight of the perishers!

  712. 712

    وَعَافِنِي مِمَّا ابْتَلَيْتَ بِهِ طَبَقَاتِ عَبِيدِكَ وَإمآئِكَ،

    294.Release me from that with which You hast afflicted the ranks of Your servants and handmaids

  713. 713

    وَبَلِّغْنِي مَبَالِغَ مَنْ عُنِيتَ بِهِ، وَأَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِ، وَرَضِيتَ عَنْهُ،

    295.and make me reach the utmost degrees of him about whom You art concerned, towards whom You showest favour, and with whom You art pleased,

  714. 714

    فَأَعَشْتَهُ حَمِيداً، وَتَوَفَّيْتَهُ سَعِيداً،

    296.so that You lettest him live as one praiseworthy and takest him to You as one felicitous!

  715. 715

    وَطَوِّقْنِي طَوْقَ الاِقْلاَعِ عَمَّا يُحْبِطُ الْحَسَنَاتِ،

    297.Collar me with the collar of abstaining from that which makes good deeds fail

  716. 716

    وَيَذْهَبُ بِالْبَرَكَاتِ،

    298.and takes away blessings!

  717. 717

    وَأَشْعِرْ قَلْبِيَ الازْدِجَارَ عَنْ قَبَائِحِ السَّيِّئاتِ،

    299.Impart to my heart restraint before ugly works of evil

  718. 718

    وَفَوَاضِحِ الْحَوْبَاتِ،

    300.and disgraceful misdeeds!

  719. 719

    وَلاَ تَشْغَلْنِي بِمَا لاَ أُدْرِكُهُ إلاَّ بِكَ عَمَّا لا َ يُرْضِيْكَ عَنِّي غَيْرُهُ،

    301.Divert me not by that which I cannot reach except through You from doing that which alone makes You pleased with me!

  720. 720

    وَانْزَعْ مِنْ قَلْبِي حُبَّ دُنْيَا دَنِيَّة تَنْهى عَمَّا عِنْدَكَ،

    302.Root out from my heart the love of this vile world, which keeps from everything which is with You,

  721. 721

    وَتَصُدُّ عَنِ ابْتِغَآءِ الْوَسِيلَةِ إلَيْكَ، وَتُذْهِلُ عَنِ التَّقَرُبِ مِنْكَ،

    303.bars from seeking the mediation to You, and distracts from striving for nearness to You!

  722. 722

    وَزَيِّنَ لِيَ التَّفَرُّدَ بِمُنَاجَاتِكَ بِاللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ،

    304.Embellish for me solitude in prayer whispered to You by night and by day!

  723. 723

    وَهَبْ لِي عِصْمَةً تُدْنِينِي مِنْ خَشْيَتِكَ،

    305.Give me a preservation which will bring me close to dread of You,

  724. 724

    وَتَقْطَعُنِي عَنْ رُكُوبِ مَحَارِمكَ،

    306.cut me off from committing things made unlawful by You,

  725. 725

    وَتَفُكُّنِي مِنْ أَسْرِ الْعَظَائِمِ،

    307.and spare me from captivation by dreadful sins!

  726. 726

    وَهَبْ لِي التَّطْهِيرَ مِنْ دَنَسِ الْعِصْيَانِ،

    308.Give me purification from the defilement of disobedience,

  727. 727

    وَأَذْهِبْ عَنِّي دَرَنَ الْخَطَايَا،

    309.take away from me the filth of offenses,

  728. 728

    وَسَرْبِلْنِي بِسِرْبالِ عَافِيَتِكَ،

    310.dress me in the dress of Your well-being,

  729. 729

    وَرَدِّنِي رِدَآءَ مُعَافاتِكَ،

    311.cloak me in the cloak of Your release,

  730. 730

    وَجَلِّلْنِي سَوابِغَ نَعْمَائِكَ،

    312.wrap me in Your ample favours,

  731. 731

    وَظَاهِرْ لَدَيَّ فَضْلَكَ وَطَوْلَكَ،

    313.and clothe me in Your bounty and Your graciousness!

  732. 732

    وَأَيْدْنِي بِتَوْفِيقِكَ وَتَسْدِيْدِكَ،

    314.Strengthen me with Your giving success and Your pointing the right way,

  733. 733

    وَأَعِنِّي عَلَى صالِحِ النِّيَّةِ وَمَرْضِيِّ الْقَوْلِ وَمُسْتَحْسَنِ الْعَمَلِ.

    315.help me toward righteous intention, pleasing words, and approved works,

  734. 734

    وَلاَ تَكِلْنِي إلَى حَوْلِي وَقُوَّتِي دُونَ حَوْلِكَ وَقُوَّتِكَ،

    316.and entrust me not to my force and my strength in place of Your force and Your strength!

  735. 735

    وَلاَ تَخْزِنِي يَوْمَ تَبْعَثُنِي لِلِقائِكَ،

    317.Degrade me not on the day You raisest me up to meet You,

  736. 736

    وَلاَ تَفْضَحْنِي بَيْنَ يَدَيْ أَوْلِياِئكَ،

    318.disgrace me not before Your friends,

  737. 737

    وَلاَ تُنْسِنِي ذِكْرَكَ، وَلاَ تُذْهِبْ عَنِّي شُكْرَكَ،

    319.make me not forget remembering You, take not away from me thanking You,

  738. 738

    بَلْ أَلْزِمْنِيهِ فِي أَحْوَالِ السَّهْوِ عِنْدَ غَفَلاَتِ الْجَاهِلِينَ لاِلائِكَ،

    320.but enjoin it upon me in states of inattention when the ignorant are heedless of Your boons,

    وَأَوْزِعْنِي أَنْ أُثْنِيَ بِمَا أَوْلَيْتَنِيهِ،

    321.and inspire me to laud what You hast done for me

  740. 740

    وَأَعْتَرِفِ بِمَا أَسْدَيْتَهُ إلَيَّ،

    322.and confess to what You hast conferred upon me!

  741. 741

    وَاجْعَلْ رَغْبَتِي إلَيْكَ فَوْقَ رَغْبَةِ الْرَّاغِبِينَ،

    323.Place my beseeching You above the beseeching of the beseechers

  742. 742

    وَحَمْدِي إيَّاكَ فَوْقَ حَمْدِ الْحَامِدِيْنَ،

    324.and my praise of You above the praise of the praisers!

  743. 743

    وَلاَ تَخْذُلْنِي عِنْدَ فاقَتِي إلَيْكَ،

    325.Abandon me not with my neediness for You,

  744. 744

    وَلاَ تُهْلِكْنِي بِمَا أَسْدَيْتُهُ إلَيْكَ،

    326.destroy me not for what I have done for You,

  745. 745

    وَلاَ تَجْبَهْنِي بِمَا جَبَهْتَ بِهِ لْمَعَانِدِينَ لَكَ،

    327.and slap not my brow with that with which You slappest the brow of those who contend with You,

  746. 746

    فَإنِّي لَكَ مُسَلِّمٌ، أَعْلَمُ أَنَّ الْحُجَّةَ لَكَ،

    328.for I am submitted to You. I know that the argument is Thine,

  747. 747

    وَأَنَّكَ أَوْلَى بِالْفَضْلِ، وَأَعْوَدُ بِالاحْسَانِ،

    329.that You art closest to bounty, most accustomed to beneficence,

  748. 748

    وَأَهْلُ التَّقْوَى، وَأَهْلُ الْمَغْفِرَةِ،

    330."worthy of reverent fear, and worthy of forgiveness" (75:56),

  749. 749

    وَأَنَّكَ بِأَنْ تَعْفُوَ أَوْلَى مِنْكَ بِأَنْ تُعَاقِبَ،

    331.that You art closer to pardoning than to punishing,

  750. 750

    وَأَنَّكَ بِأَنْ تَسْتُرَ أَقْرَبُ مِنْكَ إلَى أنْ تَشْهَرَ،

    332.and that You art nearer to covering over than to making notorious!

  751. 751

    فَأَحْيِنِي حَياةً طَيِّبَةً تَنْتَظِمُ بِما أُرِيدُ

    333.Let me live an agreeable life that will tie together what I want

  752. 752

    وَتَبْلُغُ مَا أُحِبُّ مِنْ حَيْثُ لاَ آتِي مَا تَكْرَهُ

    334.and reach what I love while I not bring what You dislikest

  753. 753

    وَلاَ أَرْتَكِبُ مَا نَهَيْتَ عَنْهُ،

    335.and not commit what You hast prohibited;

  754. 754

    وَأَمِتْنِي مِيْتَةَ مَنْ يَسْعَى نُورُهُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ، وَعَنْ يِمِيِنهِ،

    336.and make me die the death of him whose light runs before him and on his right hand!

  755. 755

    وَذَلِّلْنِي بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ، وَأَعِزَّنِيْ عِنْدَ خَلْقِكَ،

    337.Abase me before Yourself and exalt me before Your creatures,

  756. 756

    وَضَعْنِي إذَا خَلَوْتُ بِكَ، وَارْفَعْنِي بَيْنَ عِبادِكَ،

    338.lower me when I am alone with You and raise me among Your servants,

  757. 757

    وَأَغْنِنِي عَمَّنْ هُوَ غَنِيٌّ عَنِّي،

    339.free me from need for him who has no need of me

  758. 758

    وَزِدْنِي إلَيْكَ فَاقَةً وَفَقْراً،

    340.and increase me in neediness and poverty toward You!

  759. 759

    وَأَعِذْنِي مِنْ شَمَاتَةِ الاَعْدَاءِ،

    341.Give me refuge from the gloating of enemies,

  760. 760

    وَمِنْ حُلُولِ الْبَلاءِ، وَمِنَ الذُّلِّ وَالْعَنَآءِ،

    342.the arrival of affliction, lowliness and suffering!

  761. 761

    تَغَمَّدني فِيمَا اطَّلَعْتَ عَلَيْهِ مِنِّي

    343.Shield me in what You seest from me,

  762. 762

    بِمَا يَتَغَمَّدُ بِهِ الْقَادِرُ عَلَى الْبَطْشِ لَوْلاَ حِلْمُهُ،

    344.the shielding of him who would have power over violence had he no clemency,

  763. 763

    وَالاخِذُ عَلَى الْجَرِيرَةِ لَوْلاَ أَناتُهُ،

    345.and would seize for misdeeds had he no lack of haste!

  764. 764

    وَإذَا أَرَدْتَ بِقَوْم فِتْنَةً أَوْ سُوءً فَنَجِّنِي مِنْهَا لِواذاً بِكَ،

    346.When You desirest for a people a trial or an evil, deliver me from it, for I seek Your shelter;

  765. 765

    وَإذْ لَمْ تُقِمْنِي مَقَامَ فَضِيحَة فِي دُنْيَاكَ فَلاَ تُقِمْنِي مِثْلَهُ فِيْ آخِرَتِكَ،

    347.and since You hast not stood me in the station of disgrace in this world of Thine, stand me not in such a station in the next world of Thine!

  766. 766

    وَاشْفَعْ لِي أَوَائِلَ مِنَنِكَ بِأَوَاخِرِهَا،

    348.Couple for me the beginnings of Your kindnesses with their ends

  767. 767

    وَقَدِيمَ فَوَائِدِكَ بِحَوَادِثِهَا.

    349.and the ancient of Your benefits with the freshly risen!

  768. 768

    وَلاَ تَمْدُدْ لِيَ مَدّاً يَقْسُو مَعَهُ قَلْبِي،

    350.Prolong not my term with a prolonging through which my heart will harden!

  769. 769

    وَلاَ تَقْرَعْنِي قَارِعَةً يَذْهَبُ لَها بَهَآئِي،

    351.Strike me not with a striking that will take away my radiance!

  770. 770

    وَلاَ تَسُمْنِي خَسِيْسَةً يَصْغُرُ لَهَا قَدْرِي،

    352.Visit me not with a meanness that will diminish my worth

  771. 771

    وَلاَ نَقِيصَةً يُجْهَلُ مِنْ أَجْلِهَا مَكَانِي،

    353.or a deficiency that will keep my rank unknown!

  772. 772

    وَلاَ تَرُعْنِي رَوْعَةً أُبْلِسُ بِها، وَلاَ خِيْفةً أوجِسُ دُونَهَا.

    354.Frighten me not with a fright by which I will despair or a terror through which I will dread,

  773. 773

    اجْعَلْ هَيْبَتِي في وَعِيدِكَ،

    355.but make me stand in awe of Your threat,

  774. 774

    وَحَذَرِي مِنْ إعْذارِكَ وَإنْذَارِكَ،

    356.take precautions against Your leaving no excuses

  775. 775

    وَرَهْبَتِي عِنْدَ تِلاَوَةِ آياتِكَ،

    357.and Your warning, and tremble at the recitation of Your verses!

  776. 776

    وَاعْمُرْ لَيْلِي بِإيقَاظِي فِيهِ لِعِبَادَتِكَ،

    358.Fill my night with life by keeping me awake therein for worshipping You,

  777. 777

    وَتَفَرُّدِي بِالتَّهَجُّدِ لَكَ، وَتَجَرُّدِي بِسُكُونِي إلَيْكَ،

    359.solitude with vigil for You, exclusive devotion to reliance upon You,

  778. 778

    وَإنْزَالِ حَوَائِجِي بِكَ،

    360.setting my needs before You,

  779. 779

    وَمُنَازَلَتِي إيَّاكَ فِي فَكَاكِ رَقَبَتِي مِنْ نَارِكَ،

    361.and imploring that You wilt set my neck free from the Fire

  780. 780

    وَإجَارَتِي مِمَّا فِيهِ أَهْلُهَا مِنْ عَذَابِكَ.

    362.and grant me sanctuary from Your chastisement, within which its inhabitants dwell!

  781. 781

    وَلاَ تَذَرْنِي فِي طُغْيَانِي عَامِهاً،

    363.Leave me not blindly wandering in my insolence

  782. 782

    وَلاَ فِي غَمْرَتِي سَاهِياً حَتَّى حِين،

    364.or inattentive in my perplexity for a time,

  783. 783

    وَلاَ تَجْعَلْنِي عِظَةً لِمَنِ اتَّعَظَ، وَلاَ نَكَالاً لِمَنِ اعْتَبَرَ،

    365.make me not an admonition to him who takes admonishment, a punishment exemplary for him who takes heed,

  784. 784

    وَلاَ فِتْنَةً لِمَن نَظَرَ، وَلاَ تَمْكُرْ بِيَ فِيمَنْ تَمْكُرُ بِهِ،

    366.a trial for him who observes, devise not against me along with those against whom You devisest,

  785. 785

    وَلاَ تَسْتَبْدِلْ بِيَ غَيْرِي، وَلاَ تُغَيِّرْ لِيْ إسْماً،

    367.replace me not with another, change not my name,

  786. 786

    وَلاَ تُبدِّلْ لِي جِسْماً، وَلاَ تَتَّخِذْنِي هُزُوَاً لِخَلْقِكَ،

    368.transform not my body, appoint me not a mockery for Your creatures,

  787. 787

    وَلاَ سُخْرِيّاً لَكَ، وَلاَ تَبَعاً إلاَّ لِمَرْضَاتِكَ،

    369.a laughing-stock for Yourself, a follower of anything but Your good pleasure,

  788. 788

    وَلاَ مُمْتَهَناً إلاَّ بِالانْتِقَامِ لَكَ، وَأَوْجِدْنِي بَرْدَ عَفْوِكَ،

    370.a menial servant for anything but avenging You! Let me find the coolness of Your pardon

  789. 789

    و حَلاَوَةَ رَحْمَتِكَ وَرَوْحِكَ وَرَيْحَانِكَ وَجَنَّةِ نَعِيْمِكَ،

    371.and the sweetness of Your mercy, Your repose, Your ease, and the garden of Your bliss!

  790. 790

    وَأَذِقْنِي طَعْمَ الْفَرَاغِ لِمَا تُحِبُّ بِسَعَة مِنْ سَعَتِكَ،

    372.Let me taste, through some of Your boundless plenty, the flavour of being free for what You lovest

  791. 791

    وَالاجْتِهَادِ فِيمَا يُزْلِفُ لَدَيْكَ وَعِنْدَك،

    373.and striving in what brings about proximity with You and to You,

  792. 792

    وَأَتْحِفْنِي بِتُحْفَة مِنْ تُحَفَاتِكَ،

    374.and give me a gift from among Your gifts!

  793. 793

    وَاجْعَلْ تِجَارَتِي رَابِحَةً، وَكَرَّتِي غَيْرَ خَاسِرَة،

    375.Make my commerce profitable and my return without loss,

  794. 794

    وَأَخِفْنِي مَقَامَكَ، وَشَوِّقْنِي لِقاءَكَ،

    376.fill me with fear of Your station, make me yearn for the meeting with You,

  795. 795

    وَتُبْ عَلَيَّ تَوْبَةً نَصُوحاً لاَ تُبْقِ مَعَهَا ذُنُوباً صِغِيرَةً وَلا كَبِيرَةً،

    377.and allow me to repent with an unswerving repentance along with which You lettest no sins remain, small or large,

  796. 796

    وَلاَ تَذَرْ مَعَهَا عَلاَنِيَةً وَلاَ سَرِيرَةً،

    378.and leavest no wrongs, open or secret!

  797. 797

    وَانْزَعِ الْغِلَّ مِنْ صَدْرِي لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ،

    379.Root out rancour toward the faithful from my breast,

  798. 798

    وَاعْطِفْ بِقَلْبِي عَلَى الْخَاشِعِيْنَ،

    380.bend my heart toward the humble,

  799. 799

    وَكُنْ لِي كَمَا تَكُونُ لِلصَّالِحِينَ،

    381.be toward me as You art toward the righteous,

  800. 800

    وَحَلِّنِي حِلْيَةَ الْمُتَّقِينَ،

    382.adorn me with the adornment of the godfearing,

  801. 801

    وَاجْعَلْ لِيَ لِسَانَ صِدْق فِي الْغَابِرِيْنَ،

    383.appoint for me a goodly report among those yet to come

  802. 802

    وَذِكْراً نامِياً فِي الاخِرِينَ، وَوَافِ بِيَ عَرْصَةَ الاَوَّلِينَ،

    384.and a growing remembrance among the later folk, and take me to the plain of those who came first!

  803. 803

    وَتَمِّمْ سُبُوغَ نِعْمَتِكَ عَلَيَّ، وَظَاهِرْ كَرَامَاتِهَا لَدَيَّ،

    385.Complete the lavishness of Your favour upon me, clothe me in its repeated generosities,

  804. 804

    و امْلاْ مِنْ فَوَائِدِكَ يَدَيَّ، وَسُقْ كَرَائِمَ مَوَاهِبِكَ إلَيَّ،

    386.fill my hand with Your benefits, drive Your generous gifts to me,

  805. 805

    وَجَاوِرْ بِيَ الاَطْيَبِينَ مِنْ أَوْلِيَآئِكَ

    387.make me the neighbour of the best of Your friends

  806. 806

    فِي الْجِنَاْنِ الَّتِي زَيَّنْتَهَا لاَِصْفِيآئِكَ،

    388.in the Gardens which You hast adorned for Your chosen

  807. 807

    وَجَلِّلْنِي شَرَآئِفَ نِحَلِكَ فِي الْمَقَامَاتِ الْمُعَدَّةِ لاَِحِبَّائِكَ،

    389.and wrap me in Your noble presents in the stations prepared for Your beloveds!

  808. 808

    وَاجْعَلْ لِيَ عِنْدَكَ مَقِيْلاً آوِي إلَيْهِ مُطْمَئِنّاً،

    390.Appoint for me a resting place with You where I may seek haven in serenity,

  809. 809

    وَمَثابَةً أَتَبَوَّأُهَا وَأَقَرُّ عَيْناً.

    391.and a resort to which I may revert and rest my eyes,

  810. 810

    وَلاَ تُقَايِسْنِي بِعَظِيمَاتِ الْجَرَائِرِ،

    392.weigh not against me my dreadful misdeeds,

  811. 811

    وَلاَ تُهْلِكْنِي يَوْمَ تُبْلَى السَّرَائِرُ،

    393.destroy me not on "the day the secrets are tried" (86:9),

  812. 812

    وَأَزِلْ عَنِّي كُلَّ شَكٍّ وَشُبْهَة،

    394.eliminate from me every doubt and uncertainty,

  813. 813

    وَاجْعَلْ لِي فِي الْحَقِّ طَرِيقاً مِنْ كُلِّ رَحْمَة،

    395.appoint for me a way in the truth from every mercy,

  814. 814

    وأَجْزِلْ لِي قِسَمَ الْمَواهِبِ مِنْ نَوَالِكَ،

    396.make plentiful for me the portions of gifts from Your granting of awards,

  815. 815

    وَوَفِّرْ عَلَيَّ حُظُوظَ الاِحْسَانِ مِنْ إفْضَالِكَ،

    397.and fill out for me the shares of beneficence from Your bestowal of bounty!

  816. 816

    وَاجْعَلْ قَلْبِي وَاثِقاً بِمَا عِنْدَكَ،

    398.Make my heart trust in what is with You

  817. 817

    وَهَمِّيَ مُسْتَفْرَغاً لِمَا هُوَ لَكَ،

    399.and my concern free for what is Thine,

  818. 818

    وَاسْتَعْمِلْنِي بِما تَسْتَعْمِلُ بِهِ خَالِصَتَكَ،

    400.employ me in that in which You employest Your pure friends,

  819. 819

    وَأَشْرِبْ قَلْبِي عِنْدَ ذُهُولِ العُقُولِ طَاعَتَكَ،

    401.drench my heart with Your obedience when intellects are distracted,

  820. 820

    وَاجْمَعْ لِي الْغِنى، وَالْعَفَافَ، وَالدَّعَةَ، وَالْمُعَافَاةَ،

    402.and combine within me independence, continence, ease, release,

  821. 821

    وَالصِّحَّةَ، وَالسَّعَةَ، وَالطُّمَأْنِيْنَةَ، وَالْعَافِيَةَ،

    403.health, plenty, tranquillity, and well being!

  822. 822

    وَلاَ تُحْبِطْ حَسَنَاتِي بِمَا يَشُوبُهَا مِنْ مَعْصِيَتِكَ،

    404.Make not fail my good deeds through my disobedience that stains them

  823. 823

    وَلاَ خَلَواتِي بِمَا يَعْرِضُ لِيَ مِنْ نَزَغَاتِ فِتْنَتِكَ،

    405.or my private times of worship through the instigations of Your trial!

  824. 824

    وَصُنْ وَجْهِي عَنِ الطَّلَبِ إلَى أَحَد مِنَ الْعَالَمِينَ،

    406.Safeguard my face from asking from anyone in the world,

  825. 825

    وَذُبَّنِي عَنِ التِماسِ مَا عِنْدَ الفَاسِقِينَ،

    407.and drive me far from begging for that which is with the ungodly!

  826. 826

    وَلاَ تَجْعَلْنِي لِلظَّالِمِينَ ظَهِيراً،

    408.Make me not an aid to the wrongdoers,

  827. 827

    وَلاَ لَهُمْ عَلى مَحْوِ كِتَابِكَ يَداً وَنَصِيراً،

    409.nor their hand and helper in erasing Your Book!

  828. 828

    وَحُطْنِي مِنْ حَيْثُ لاَ أَعْلَمُ حِيَاطَةً تَقِيْنِي بِهَا،

    410.Defend me whence I know not with a defense through which You protectest me!

  829. 829

    وَافْتَحْ لِيَ أَبْوَابَ تَوْبَتِكَ وَرَحْمَتِكَ وَرَأْفَتِكَ وَرِزْقِكَ الواسِعِ،

    411.Open toward me the gates of Your repentance, Your mercy, Your clemency, and Your boundless provision!

  830. 830

    إنِّي إلَيْكَ مِنَ الرَّاغِبِينَ،

    412.Surely I am one of those who beseech You!

  831. 831

    وَأَتْمِمْ لِي إنْعَامَكَ، إنَّكَ خَيْرُ الْمُنْعِمِيْنَ،

    413.And complete Your favour toward me! Surely You art the best of those who show favour!

  832. 832

    وَاجْعَلْ باقِيَ عُمْرِيْ فِي الْحَجِّ وَالْعُمْرَةِ

    414.Place the rest of my life in the hajj and the 'umra

  833. 833

    ابْتِغَآءَ وَجْهِكَ يَاربَّ الْعَالَمِينَ،

    415.seeking Your face, O Lord of the worlds!

  834. 834

    وَصَلَّى اللهُ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ الطَّيِّبِينَ الطَّاهِرِينَ،

    416.And may God bless Muhammad and his Household, the good, the pure,

  835. 835

    وَالسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَيْهِمْ أَبَدَ الابِدِينَ.

    417.and peace be upon him and them always and forever!
